We passed the border in October. From Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. Just a horror of course. The queue is not the worst thing. The queue is occupied by locals and they sell seats, because of them the queue is so long and is created. There are a lot of selling places in the queue. The most terrible thing is the attitude of Kazakh border guards to people, and it doesn't matter if you are Russian or Uzbek, Tajik. Just extortion of money from everyone except citizens of Kazakhstan, of course. Just give me 2000 and that's it, I forgot dinner at home today. Hands fumble on the boards. When they said there was no money, they took a jar of honey. We passed the border with parents and children. There is also no respect for age, they poke, they can push, they yell that you got up.
In general, we were in terrible shock, and then Uzbekistan passed, we were afraid. It turned out to be the opposite. Very respectful. Hello, goodbye, welcome (it's at three in the morning). Very long and carefully inspected, all things are asked to get and put on the tape. They don't touch anything in the car with their hands, they ask to open it. After the brazen Kazakhs, it's just perfect.
In general, we were in terrible shock from passing this border. We decided that we would go back through another post, but it turned out that the Kazakhs were extorting money there too. Everything is identical. Only here the driver needs to put money directly into the passport at passport control. Naturally, we did not put it, at first we did not know, then when we saw that the seal was not put (and we were already leaving the post, they stopped us and said there was no seal, go through again). As a result, the husband passed 4 times. I had to go to the boss, then they put a seal on it. Three skins are being torn from the poor citizens of Uzbekistan. They put them in rows, no matter children, women or the elderly. Simply so. They don't let you into the toilets.
We passed the borders of Ukraine, Georgia, Turkey, Azerbaijan by car, but such lawlessness is only in Kazakhstan.
We will definitely return to Uzbekistan, but only by plane.

We bought a queue for 4000 rubles, drove right in and eventually crossed the border in 4.5 hours. As I understand it, this is the minimum travel time from Kazakhstan to Uzbekistan. The Kazakh side passes very quickly, but the Uzbek side does everything for a very long time, turns the whole car over, demands to drive all the luggage through the scanner. This greatly delays the process. In the opposite direction, everything went very quickly. There was no queue to enter, there was a superficial inspection, both borders passed in an hour.
