The airport is huge, you have to walk everywhere a lot, but despite the presence of people and queues, everything goes fast and you don't have to worry. Any queue, even a large one, is rapidly decreasing. There are a lot of shops and there are crowds of people here. There are several duty free and there is one very large and large set of goods. But the IgA business lounge is a huge train station, where there is no place at all and only free food is among the advantages. I used the Dragon Pass, but somehow I didn't want to come there again. Only if it is absolutely necessary to sit for many hours. Everything else is like at a normal airport. Neither better nor worse. Maybe even a little better.
A huge and well-equipped territory. Comfortable, clean, cool. And almost everything is clear). English speaking staff. Free Wi-Fi can be obtained by taking the access code according to the passport at the designated construction sites.
There are many brand stores, duty free.
It takes about an hour and a half by bus from the airport to Istanbul. But there seems to be a subway.
Here is a real and objective review for you.
The airport has very high ceilings, which gives space, a large check-in hall, there are areas with sun beds both in the check-in hall and behind the duty free zone. There are many smoking terraces for smokers. That's all the advantages.
I have been flying through it constantly since the opening, only this year already 8 times.
I'll start with the Internet, because you have arrived or are leaving and this is the first thing you are looking for at the airport. It's a disgrace here! Even in underdeveloped countries, it is unlimited at airports. You will also have an hour to register using your phone number and an hour with your passport. That's it! Then pay! Shame on THE GREAT TURKEY! If there is a transfer and you have to wait from 3 hours, keep in mind.
If you fly there with the local Turkish Airlines, you are lucky. You can log in through their network by flight number and boarding place. It works smoothly.
Further on nutrition. It is always expensive at airports. But not $50 for a minishaurma with chicken, a small portion of French fries and a jar of soda. $50 - CARL!!! And so it is in everything else. Sandwiches, pastas, etc.
Next, the prices for their Turkish sweetness - baklava. At least 20 € per pound of the simplest and it is not known when baked. When on the central streets of Istanbul, the same one costs $ 10 per 1kg for the freshest!!! So are the rest of the Turkish desserts at a cost somewhere in the clouds.
Otherwise, Duty free at prices like everywhere else in the world. Shopping prices are overpriced everywhere, discounts are just for show. Perhaps because of inflation in the country...
The bathrooms are already shuffled, often untidy with obscene scents. There is often garbage lying around at the check-in counters, scraps of packaging film, stickers stuck to the tiles.
Further on, currency exchange.
In airport exchangers, the exchange rate is underestimated as everywhere else. For today, 30 liras =1€, when the exchange rate is 37 liras =1€. OK, we get the luggage and go out to the arrival hall. There are stalls of local banks. In them, each course draws itself from 34 to 37, this is understandable. I choose a bank where 37, I change it, and then I'm UNEXPECTED. You have a 4% commission, because the course is 35. What the...??? Why 4%?! It's the same with the dollar.
Okay. I go to the ATM, there are a lot of them, and withdraw cash from an international card. You have an 8% commission!!! If you withdraw 500€, then give 40 to the bank! I've never seen such a rip-off anywhere! Again, you come to the center of Istanbul (Fatih, Taksim) and there the exchangers are close to the official exchange rate without 10-20% understatement and without commissions!
Well, for a snack, here it is the arrival hall on the 1st floor. I call a taxi, and the taxi arrives only at the entrance to the departure hall, and it is on the 2nd floor. Now I'll explain why to the entrance. There are only 7 of them there. And through the UBER app, you can select only the 6th and 7th entrances. I chose the 6th. Here I am trudging from ATMs from the 1st floor to the 2nd, walking through the entire airport to the 6th entrance. I'm trying to get out through it, but the exit doors are closed. The taxi is already waiting, I'm moving to the 7th entrance. Some doors are closed, I'm going around the security area, it's finally open! Only the taxi driver had already left, indicating that I was not there. Therefore, I am voluntarily and forcibly fined, the benefit is 20 rubles.
Here are the adventures to get on the taxi boarding.
UPD from 02.11.2024. I was at the airport once more, tried to get out to a taxi again. All exits except the right doors of the 7th are blocked, the left doors of the 7th are also closed. Don't waste time, go straight to the 7th right.
The airport does not deserve more than 3 points!
An excellent airport with clear navigation, fast passage of passport and control, the staff will always help and prompt. There is an hour of free Wi-Fi by passport number and scan. Minus - very expensive prices! You can take the subway from the airport, everything is easy to navigate too) the exchange rate at the airport is not very good, they changed it just so that it was enough to get to the center. We bought an Istanbul card in the subway and took the subway. 1.5 hours to the center, taking into account the transition between stations
A huge cool airport. If I'm not mistaken, it's the largest in the world. I even saw electric scooters inside to move around :) With all this, the Mega is clearly built, you intuitively know where to go, what to do. Cool electronic stands that you approach, a "talking head" comes out and you can find out the necessary information in real time in a language convenient to you from a specially trained employee :) Good duty-free, everything is there, many business halls; places to relax, an hourly hotel right in the international zone. There is a large footcourt, a selection of restaurants and fast food establishments. I recommend Shake Shack. The inner zone is also not bad, but not on such a scale, of course) In general, it will work. The only thing, in my experience, flights to Moscow arrive at the farthest gates, which are a good 20 minutes walk from the center. Keep this in mind, as the airport is mega-large. With all this, inspection and customs are fast enough, you are unlikely to spend more than half an hour on both, despite the fact that there are really a lot of people. I recommend it :)
It's a great big airport, it's impossible to get lost. It is easy and fast to get to the center of Istanbul by metro, avoiding traffic jams on the way in a taxi. Hundreds of shops for every taste and budget🤑 The cost of cosmetics and perfume is top, we always try to buy something, but sweets are more profitable to take in the pastry shops of Istanbul. In the cafe, prices are indicated in lira, but they also accept euros. Also keep in mind that luggage is usually given out for a long time + it may take time to find a gate, you need to take this into account when making international transfers.
A huge modern and very beautiful airport. It is better to arrive well in advance before departure. There are very often traffic jams in Istanbul, and the way from the center to the airport is long.
There are a lot of people at the entrance, at registration, at passport control, in the security check area.
We arrived 3 hours before the flight, but we didn't even have time to eat at McDonald's before the flight (we flew in Victory).
Istanbul's newest airport is a true masterpiece of modern architecture and technology! The journey begins even before takeoff: spacious halls and stylish interiors give a feeling of luxury and hospitality. And the new metro line, smoothly connecting the airport with the heart of Istanbul, turns the trip into an unforgettable pleasure. This airport is a high-tech work of art in which ancient traditions meet the future. Just wow!
It's just a space airport. Very modern, comfortable and green. Food prices are really cosmic too. Therefore, it is better to have a snack before arrival. The waiting is convenient, there are no problems finding a place. Good navigation. There is a feeling that there are no announcements for boarding and about passengers who did not come. But maybe I wasn't listening well. It is very convenient to get by metro from the airport and back.
A gorgeous, new, huge airport. One of the three in Istanbul. Many flights land here. On the passport, there is traditionally a division into local and all others. The queue is almost single, three tails, but it goes fast, a photo, a stamp in the passport and is free. A queue of several boards passes in less than 10 minutes. Next, the Dutik, both at the exit and on departure. Now it has become even more convenient to get to the center, especially on a budget. There used to be two types of buses, but now you can take the Subway! Of course, the "quest" is still the same, read, a lot has been written really for at least 10 minutes with a huge number of exaltations and travelators. But some 30-40 minutes and you're on Emineni. Or further. The airport is amazing in size and order. The convenience of getting to the Center.
The airport is huge, not much smaller than Shanghai. It's not a very convenient location inside, but in general everything is clear. There are two business halls: one for Turkish Airlines (and possibly the rest of the companies from their alliance), the second for everyone else. And there was a huge queue there, as a result, it was not possible to visit it, since there was not much time left before boarding. A large selection of eateries and shops.
One of the best business halls I've been to. The airport is convenient, similar in layout to Savarnabum, I have flown from here many times. A pleasant hourly hotel on site. The only thing is, I missed my flight once due to a delay that led to the transfer of the gate, which was not announced by voice, and I did not pay attention to the scoreboard on the way to my gate, as a result, I came there, there is no plane and it is on another gate at the other end of the terminal, I did not have time to get there. Purely a joint of the information service. A couple of weeks ago, a similar situation almost happened, but I already learned this feature of the airport, and the replacement gate turned out to be nearby.
Amazing airport 👏🏻👏🏻👏🏻
It's huge, you can get lost, but it's very comfortable, spacious, lots of recreation areas and where to charge your gadgets. A large selection of where to eat and what to eat. Upon arrival, you quickly pass through the customs zone, queues pass quickly. When the flight departs, the same thing happens - everything is fast.
The airport is very large and convenient with its own infrastructure. It's great that you can use wifi easily and simply. It is convenient that after receiving your luggage you go out to the Duty-free zone. I love this airport despite the fact that it is very big. Buses run by the hour from all sides of Istanbul, comfortably and conveniently. The navigation is excellent, everything is clear. The main thing is not to get lost in time while shopping and not to miss your flight if you are in transit 😉
Great airport, big, beautiful, spacious. Very good duty free shops. Well-known global brands are represented.
The VIP lounge was also pleasantly surprised. A large number of drinks and food, comfortable armchairs and very beautiful restrooms.
It is intuitive to get to the exits
A good airport has cafes, duty free, a good take-off area and much more.
There is also a subway, a large parking lot, taxis everywhere, but everything is expensive.
I was there on 05/24/2024-30.05.2024
I bought a keychain for 45 rubles or 15 liras in the center, and at the AIRPORT IT COSTS 600 RUBLES OR 200 LIRAS
Never buy souvenirs at the airport as it is very expensive.
I'll give it 5 stars anyway.
The new Istanbul Airport has one common terminal for domestic and international flights. A huge territory, which is designed to serve 90 million -150 million passengers per year. The ceilings in the airport building are beautifully decorated, they resemble the vaults of a mosque... you can feel the oriental flavor. A bright room, high arches, plenty of air and a comfortable atmosphere. If you can't walk for a long time, then you can take a buggy taxi, a very convenient transport, but a paid service. There are special buggy stations. They run quite often. There are special vehicles designed for passengers with disabilities. We also met often. They were picked up right from the door of the plane and delivered to the right place.
Information boards are almost at every step. The airport building consists of five terminals, designated by the letters A, B, C, D, F and G.
Terminal G and partly Terminal F are intended exclusively for domestic flights. Therefore, if you have a domestic flight, you can immediately go towards Terminal G.
Terminals A, B, D, C and F are used for international flights. There is a lot of greenery in sector "A", there are cafes, tables and chairs, sofas. Prices are inflated, as in all airports. There are places where you can relax after a walk around the airport, it is better to look for them in sector D or F. There are green areas there. And such islands of recreation are scattered throughout the building.
The Duty Free zone is huge. There are many different shops and kiosks. They are colorful and brightly decorated, everything glows and sparkles. Various sweets, traditional Turkish and other foreign ones, but again the prices are high, even for local Turkish ones.
The airport is huge, but the logistics are excellent, in principle everything is clear. A couple of times I had to help people with orientation in the building, who came up to us after hearing Russian speech))
Beautiful, huge and hospitable Turkish Airport!
A very large airport, with very different zones. If the landing and gates are close to the machine entrance - OK, gorgeous DF, lots of places to eat, but as usual at such airports there is not much place just to sit. The Internet is free for only the first hour, then you need to pay 10 euros - it is easier to connect the Internet from a mobile provider. And another nuance - very expensive food
This is a huge modern airport where you can quite easily spend time waiting for connecting flights; Lots of cafes, restaurants, shops, well, a separate story is the Lounge Area, where you can even sleep for a couple of hours and taste a lot of delicious and healthy things, and everything is included in the price; You can even swim! Very convenient logistics, I really love this airport.
An incredibly huge airport!
Its scale is simply amazing! Everything is clean and pleasant to the eye inside. The staff are smiling and helpful, kindly helped to find the way to my plane, it really wasn't easy if your English level is very bad :)
Huge, beautiful, intelligent, convenient, rich. I can compare it with many apps in the world. I also remember the old Istanbul International Airport. This is just a New Babylon. The only thing that bothered me was the long transitions between terminals. Walking is useful, but still. The shops are definitely the best I've seen, food outlets with a focus on halal and wildly WILDLY expensive! For which I change the review, discarding 2* based on the results of the last visit.
An excellent airport, I often use it for transit flights. It is large, but convenient because of the well-thought-out pointer system. The last connection between flights was only 1 hour and 25 minutes, and the boarding gates are at different ends of the airport. I was afraid not to catch the next flight, but everything went fine - the plane landed on time, there was a small queue at the inspection, the travelators helped me quickly get to the right exit) All navigation is very clear.
Istanbul Airport is a huge airline comparable to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. Huge Duty Free, a large selection. Everything is done very comfortably and conveniently for passengers. There are many cafes and restaurants for every taste. But. Unfortunately, the only problem is that everything is very expensive.
A huge, modern, very beautiful and very expensive airport in Istanbul
You can get there on a budget by bus or metro, or comfortably by car. Super, very convenient, everything is in its place and with huge traffic queues at passport control are minimal.
A huge modern airport, very clean, everything is fast, there are few queues, many good shops, but the prices are too high. There is a good Wi-Fi, it needs to be registered at special counters, they are everywhere there. It is convenient to get by metro, there is its own station.
It is spacious, chic, but there is no atmosphere of the old airport, where there were pleasant small taverns, inexpensive by the way, because now prices even in fast food are atom. An attempt to earn money even on a cart is incomprehensible. Well, the "regulations of the European Union" on quiet airports are out of the question. I took a nap one day before the flight, and an employee came up to the gate and silently took everyone away to another one. So I missed the flight... In general, an hour of free Internet is not enough when you are hanging out in transit.
Gorgeous airport 🔥
There are all possible shops, there is a place to eat for every taste 😍
There is a place to get a cool massage 💆🏼♀️
Great waiting room!
The main thing is to have more time in reserve, the airport is really very large-scale 👍🏼
A luxury airport, a favorite in Istanbul. Everything is simple and clear, fast, comfortable and convenient. A wonderful gallery of luxury boutiques of clothing and jewelry. Excellent French fries for every taste and prosperity. The restaurant area is pleased with the choice of cuisine from different countries, if you have run out of an hour-long WiFi slot, you can extend the time by getting free time at terminals around the airport by simply scanning your passport. Friendly staff, you get your luggage instantly, clean, stylish and beautiful. I always choose this airport instead of Sabiha Gokcen and I am always happy to return ♥️
A very large, beautiful new airport. All the top brands are in the departure area. There are places to relax with comfortable chairs, cafes and restaurants for every whim. The only disadvantage is that it takes a very long time to walk because the airport is huge.
The best airport I've ever seen!everything is thought out, everything is for people! For me, the main indicator is to make it easy and short to find a toilet)there are a lot of them here and at every step. The shops are great, if you hang out for a long time, there is something to do. Racks with Wi-Fi and a baggage belt search board-five points. The business hall (I don't remember the name) is big, cool, lots of food, lots of space
It's just a huge airport that impresses with its human flows. Easy navigation, pointers help you find the right directions. However, the distances to be overcome are long. You should be prepared for this. When entering the airport building, you go through security control. A beautiful, clean and very understandable airport. Free Wi-Fi for 60 minutes can be taken from the passport counter. You need to buy a tariff more (6.5 euros per day). There are many lounge bars at the airport. The service is very good. The duty free is huge. There are a lot of places to relax. There is plenty of space for charging gadgets. In general, everything is very convenient and practical. Everything is made only for people.
A gorgeous airport. The largest in Europe. Beautiful, spacious. It works smoothly and clearly. There is no fuss and endless queues. Everything is clear, even without knowing the language. They provide wi-fi for free (you can get a password from it in special terminals). The staff is friendly and always ready to help. There is a shuttle service, convenient access to public transport. The toilets are lovely with disposable toilet pads and a bidet function.
The only drawback (it is at our Airport, but not there) is the departure schedule indicating the terminal appears about an hour before departure. And the downside is that there are no lounge chairs in the waiting room where you can comfortably recline.
The airport left a wonderful impression.
The new airport is like a huge modern city, there are many cafes, pavilions, shops. There are fountains with water. You can download the free Internet for an hour using your passport. Those with a transfer, be sure to take this into account while you go through the transition from the arrival zone to the departure zone, quite long distances. I am delighted with this vast atmosphere of the airport.
It is a very beautiful , huge airport, there are many places where you can relax, the toilets are clean, of course there are so many check-in desks and boarding gates.I spent about 40 minutes looking for the f8a boarding gate. There are a lot of shops, cafes, a very large and good duty free zone. You can connect Wi-Fi in the terminal for an hour by passport or by SMS on your phone.
The airport is new, well-designed, convenient. Having at least a couple of convolutions, even with inflated lips, the visitor can easily navigate the area. The usurpers, as always and as in other airports, are slow and stupid. Queues are created as before, so register online in advance, at least you will be able to get past this queue. But you will have to stand at the passport office. Otherwise, the airport is like an airport, even the metro line was let down, although they missed slightly and now the guest will have to walk about a kilometer from the exit of the terminal to the train with transitions and stairs. Have a nice trip, everyone.
The new airport was very pleased. Everything is clear and convenient. Cafes, shops, etc. Good wi-fi. A huge territory, but everything is conveniently located. The transplant went well. But it is better not to pawn less than an hour.
A chic, comfortable, beautiful airport! With convenient logistics from Istanbul - there is even a subway! Polite and friendly staff! An additional point of growth in the comfort of this huge international hub would be, in addition to airline representative offices, to make representatives of countries working around the clock at the airport. If there is a problematic situation with a transit passenger from Russia, they could explain to him in their native language what is happening and what solutions to the current situation there are. In YOUR NATIVE language! Many problematic issues would be solved in this way. And one of the best airports in the World would be even more comfortable!
Beautiful new airport. It is very fast and convenient to get to the city by metro. Everything is clear, there are signs everywhere. If you arrive in Istanbul, it is better not to change all the money at the airport, an unfavorable rate. Change a little bit to get to the city to buy an Istanbul Card.
There is a big Duty Free at the airport, a lot of cafes.
An incredibly large airport. You need to arrive at least 3 hours before departure, because it's quite a long walk to get to the desired departure platform. I liked the tracks with acceleration. Many girls in currency exchangers know Russian, as usual, the exchange rate is completely unprofitable, here I advise you to change about 300-500 lira at once, this is more than enough for you to buy an Istanbul metro card right at the airport and take the metro with several transfers. The water here costs about 7 euros for 0.5 liters. The availability of free wi-fi is an incomparable plus, there are a lot of seating for waiting, besides there are islands with seats for more comfortable accommodation - reclining
The airport itself is organized intelligently, everything is accessible, as far as it can be for an airport of this scale. The signs are clear, the waiting rooms are comfortable. The IGA lounge is always crowded, it is difficult to find a place, the food in it is so-so. There is also an eternal queue in the toilet of the lounge. At the airport itself, the prices are horse-drawn, for a piece of baguette with ham and greens they ask 19.9 euros. The prices in dutifrey for perfumes are terrifying, I buy the same perfume in Spain 2 times cheaper.
The new Istanbul Airport is a modern, spacious building made of glass and concrete. Well, it's very big, there are running tracks all over the airport, which is convenient for passengers with luggage, just put it on the tape and go along with the luggage. But due to the long distances, you should arrive at the airport in advance, as there are very long queues at the control and besides it takes a long time to get to your boarding gate. We had three hours before departure and barely made it. Keep this in mind. Everyone praises the duty-free shops, but due to the above, there simply wasn't enough time to visit them.
The airport is sooo big. Google says it is the largest in Europe and the top 3 in the world. But generally understandable. There are diagrams in the hall. The electronic circuit is also easily found on the Internet. Control and departure are on the same floor. Polite staff. Prices are higher as everywhere at the airport. A simit, for example, on Istiklal Street can cost 15 lire, and here 80 lire. But delicious) 😁 as without them. Duty free is luxurious, and in general the level of shops that are located is luxury. And the staff there are delicate, unobtrusive. There is a museum on the territory of the airport
A huge functional airport. Everything is thought out, convenient and understandable. There are many recreation areas, you can comfortably wait for your flight ... shops for every taste and budget. As well as a large selection of places where you can eat
A wonderful airport. Everything is perfectly organized, it is easy to get to the city by bus. A huge selection of cafes / shops and other things. If you have time for a transfer, I recommend that you take a look at the museum, which is located in the duty free zone on departure.
It's fantastic! A huge modern airport! Even with a huge number of people, queues go very fast. The staff is friendly. A recommendation for those who plan to use the airport: lay down more time for a transfer. The distances are very long. Even to get to the gate of the exit to the plane, it takes time. The information on the scoreboard reads as follows: proceed to gate number ..., travel time is 20 minutes! And this is actually the case!
It is beautiful and the largest in Europe. It's clean, but there are a lot of people. The toilets are also clean, they are constantly cleaned. Everything passed quickly. DutiFry is huge, there are all world brands of bags, cosmetics, perfumes (a huge selection), alcohol, etc., many cafes, really expensive.
A convenient modern hub . It is technologically advanced in all respects, including a capsule hotel and numerous cafes and restaurants. When compared with European airports . Then we can note the high level of comfort and service. However, as in all of Turkey, the prices are very high. This is typical for countries with hyperinflation . Overall, it makes a pleasant impression. The airport staff is polite and helpful.
Giant airport))) there are a lot of terraces for smoking))) there are many shops and cafes)) the staff is polite and ready to help))) Attention! Spoiler alert!! You can get lost)))) but! It's easy to get lost - a lot of detailed pointers)))
A beautiful, modern airport! With comfortable waiting areas, a large selection in stores! There is free wi-fi, convenient information boards. The only thing is that they launch into the departure zone very late, we don't have time to visit all the shops.😁❤️
Positive. Large, modern, lots of shops, food court, business halls. Pretty smart passport control. Clear navigation.
Minuses. WiFi is free for 1 hour, if without a business lounge, which is a shame for such a hub, I think. Toll carts are a shame too.
Prices in dutifrey are almost all Moscow prices, they do not sell water in them, which is also unclear. Although it is clear that everything is being done here to shake money off the people. It's better not to try eating in eateries, my son has been struggling with his stomach for a couple of days.
Well, half-hour "taxiing" on the runway, especially Turkish Airlines, is something.
Summary: it was built on a grand scale, but it was filled with merchants from the market.
