A very large airport, with very different zones. If the landing and gates are close to the machine entrance - OK, gorgeous DF, lots of places to eat, but as usual at such airports there is not much place just to sit. The Internet is free for only the first hour, then you need to pay 10 euros - it is easier to connect the Internet from a mobile provider. And another nuance - very expensive food
This is a huge modern airport where you can quite easily spend time waiting for connecting flights; Lots of cafes, restaurants, shops, well, a separate story is the Lounge Area, where you can even sleep for a couple of hours and taste a lot of delicious and healthy things, and everything is included in the price; You can even swim! Very convenient logistics, I really love this airport.
Good afternoon, everyone!!! The New airport has a number of inconveniences for Russian tourists from Sochi. Check-in almost always starts less than 3 hours before departure. Provided that the airport is huge and a lot of people go through passport control and screening before departure, then there is very little time to get to your gate. Try to do everything promptly.
Check-in desks are closed, and often they don't put her number on the departure board. The departure gate is usually quite far away too. Use the travelators and look at the signs (they indicate the approximate time to the point). Have a good flight, everyone!!!
If you look carefully, everything is clear and convenient for navigation.
Yes, the airport is huge, the distances are long.
You must arrive in advance.
Nothing was announced about the delay of our flight into the microphone, but information was displayed on the scoreboard.
Wi-Fi is provided for 1 hour for free. On departure.
On arrival, the Wi-Fi machine was not working. I don't know if it was accidental or intentional to buy Sim cards!? 🤔
You can change the money, but they do not change less than 50 dollars or 50 Euros.
The course is not profitable, of course, and the commission is 4%.
The exchangers at the exit of the arrival area are a more acceptable rate than those in the center of the hall.
The airport Itself Is Convenient And Understandable
Istanbul Airport is a huge airline comparable to Charles de Gaulle Airport in Paris. Huge Duty Free, a large selection. Everything is done very comfortably and conveniently for passengers. There are many cafes and restaurants for every taste. But. Unfortunately, the only problem is that everything is very expensive.
An excellent airport, I often use it for transit flights. It is large, but convenient because of the well-thought-out pointer system. The last connection between flights was only 1 hour and 25 minutes, and the boarding gates are at different ends of the airport. I was afraid not to catch the next flight, but everything went fine - the plane landed on time, there was a small queue at the inspection, the travelators helped me quickly get to the right exit) All navigation is very clear.
Huge, beautiful, intelligent, convenient, rich. I can compare it with many apps in the world. I also remember the old Istanbul International Airport. This is just a New Babylon. The only thing that bothered me was the long transitions between terminals. Walking is useful, but still. The shops are definitely the best I've seen, food outlets with a focus on halal and wildly WILDLY expensive! For which I change the review, discarding 2* based on the results of the last visit.
It is spacious, chic, but there is no atmosphere of the old airport, where there were pleasant small taverns, inexpensive by the way, because now prices even in fast food are atom. An attempt to earn money even on a cart is incomprehensible. Well, the "regulations of the European Union" on quiet airports are out of the question. I took a nap one day before the flight, and an employee came up to the gate and silently took everyone away to another one. So I missed the flight... In general, an hour of free Internet is not enough when you are hanging out in transit.
After the closure of Krasnodar Airport, Istanbul Airport is becoming more and more familiar. A large and very convenient airport, easy to navigate, a large number of shops and places where you can have delicious food for every taste. By the way, there is a hotel at the airport, not cheap but very convenient.
The airport is huge, but quite ergonomic.
The Duty-free zone is one of the best and most developed and filled of all that I have ever visited. The area of shops and their variety is great: from perfumes, leather goods and accessories to alcohol, tobacco and local dishes (oriental sweets). In other things, it is better not to postpone the purchase of the latter, as well as other local colorful things, to the airport, otherwise you will have to pay a lot for them and quite expectedly overpay.
But the prices for some accessories pleased me. I bought myself another RayBan here for 170 euros, which, in my opinion, is quite an acceptable price (compared, for example, with Moscow Duty Free stores, where the same position would cost 50-70-100%! more expensive (I made sure of this personally before flying to Istanbul).
The airport is clean, there are enough bathrooms [however, in the new terminals of Moscow Sheremetyevo - "B" and "C" - things are even better].
The main and most significant drawback of this airport, in my opinion, is its remoteness from the city center. Yes, recently a subway was built before it, but it runs at huge intervals (feels like ~ 30 minutes), it's packed with people, there are few seats (which, however, is normal for the subway). But do not expect him to have a perfectly adjusted schedule and the speed of the Moscow [for example] subway.
By the way, about "speed" - in this beautiful ancient city, and in the country as a whole - no one is in a hurry. Do not expect high-quality and clearly rendered services in any areas.
Unfortunately, it would be appropriate to mention here that when departing from this airport back to Moscow, check-in began only ~ 2.5 hours before departure, which completely left no opportunity to normally, efficiently and systematically go through the Duty Free shops, which, as mentioned above, differ in this airport in abundance and variety of goods... That is, we specially arrived at the airport in advance, and then "stupidly" waited for about an hour for check-in. This fact, of course, did not decorate this airport in our eyes at all.
In general, the airport is decent - in the best traditions of modern air harbors in Moscow, Los Angeles, London.
Gorgeous airport 🔥
There are all possible shops, there is a place to eat for every taste 😍
There is a place to get a cool massage 💆🏼♀️
Great waiting room!
The main thing is to have more time in reserve, the airport is really very large-scale 👍🏼
I just love this airport!!!
It's HUGE! There is a huge Duty Free, many restaurants and cafes, and there are shops with local sweets and souvenirs.
The only drawback is if you have a transfer in less than 2-3 hours , you may simply not be able to catch your next flight , and of course the prices , Duty free in other countries are cheaper .
The best airport I've ever seen!everything is thought out, everything is for people! For me, the main indicator is to make it easy and short to find a toilet)there are a lot of them here and at every step. The shops are great, if you hang out for a long time, there is something to do. Racks with Wi-Fi and a baggage belt search board-five points. The business hall (I don't remember the name) is big, cool, lots of food, lots of space
It's a very large airport, you can easily get lost. Therefore, you need to be extremely careful. Departures are not announced, so it's better to find your gate early. In dutifrey and the fasfood zone, the cards of the mir Rosselkhoznadzor are taken into account. There are counters for receiving an hour of free Internet on a foreign passport. You can search the Internet for information on how to connect free unlimited Internet at the airport. It is very convenient to get to the city either by Khawaista (buses) or by metro.
An incredibly large airport. You need to arrive at least 3 hours before departure, because it's quite a long walk to get to the desired departure platform. I liked the tracks with acceleration. Many girls in currency exchangers know Russian, as usual, the exchange rate is completely unprofitable, here I advise you to change about 300-500 lira at once, this is more than enough for you to buy an Istanbul metro card right at the airport and take the metro with several transfers. The water here costs about 7 euros for 0.5 liters. The availability of free wi-fi is an incomparable plus, there are a lot of seating for waiting, besides there are islands with seats for more comfortable accommodation - reclining
It is a very beautiful , huge airport, there are many places where you can relax, the toilets are clean, of course there are so many check-in desks and boarding gates.I spent about 40 minutes looking for the f8a boarding gate. There are a lot of shops, cafes, a very large and good duty free zone. You can connect Wi-Fi in the terminal for an hour by passport or by SMS on your phone.
A very large, beautiful new airport. All the top brands are in the departure area. There are places to relax with comfortable chairs, cafes and restaurants for every whim. The only disadvantage is that it takes a very long time to walk because the airport is huge.
New. Beautiful. There are plenty of free vacation spots. The launch zones are normal. That's where the advantages ended.
There is no navigation. There are large tables-screens, but they show with errors. We couldn't get to the counter with a free tour, we searched for about an hour, but different sides failed to find it.
The toilets are a bit dirty.
Free Wi-Fi for 1 hour only.
Dear Duke.
And the best part is the paid luggage trolleys)
As a result, I will say that the airport is unfriendly to guests.
It's just a huge airport that impresses with its human flows. Easy navigation, pointers help you find the right directions. However, the distances to be overcome are long. You should be prepared for this. When entering the airport building, you go through security control. A beautiful, clean and very understandable airport. Free Wi-Fi for 60 minutes can be taken from the passport counter. You need to buy a tariff more (6.5 euros per day). There are many lounge bars at the airport. The service is very good. The duty free is huge. There are a lot of places to relax. There is plenty of space for charging gadgets. In general, everything is very convenient and practical. Everything is made only for people.
The airport is huge, but there are signs everywhere. In English too. Passport control is going pretty fast. There is a free Wi-Fi - there is an information reader in the device, you need to swipe the barcode on it, which is in the passport on the photo page (as for reading the barcode from a plastic card), only quickly, otherwise the device freezes. Then he issues a receipt with a digital code, which must be entered on the phone at the address indicated on the same receipt.
You can change the money here. And there is an information department for tourists.
You can leave by bus, it's expensive. Or by subway, cheap. Travel cards are sold immediately at the exit from the airport.
The new airport is like a huge modern city, there are many cafes, pavilions, shops. There are fountains with water. You can download the free Internet for an hour using your passport. Those with a transfer, be sure to take this into account while you go through the transition from the arrival zone to the departure zone, quite long distances. I am delighted with this vast atmosphere of the airport.
The airport is new, well-designed, convenient. Having at least a couple of convolutions, even with inflated lips, the visitor can easily navigate the area. The usurpers, as always and as in other airports, are slow and stupid. Queues are created as before, so register online in advance, at least you will be able to get past this queue. But you will have to stand at the passport office. Otherwise, the airport is like an airport, even the metro line was let down, although they missed slightly and now the guest will have to walk about a kilometer from the exit of the terminal to the train with transitions and stairs. Have a nice trip, everyone.
The airport is amazing, very beautiful and eventful. The only drawback is that it's a long way to get to the gates, but it's interesting and there are travelators everywhere for more comfortable and faster movement. Lots of toilets, lots of shops, lots of cafes.
A huge airport! There is everything for a comfortable waiting for your flight) clean toilets, a smoking veranda, comfortable reclining chairs) However, when it's the first time, it's very easy to get lost! When we flew for the first time, we studied everything on the Internet in great detail!
Istanbul Airport is impressive: huge, modern, with excellent navigation. Spacious halls, recreation areas, many cafes and shops. It is very convenient for transfers and comfortable waiting for flights. One of the best in the world!
The airport itself is organized intelligently, everything is accessible, as far as it can be for an airport of this scale. The signs are clear, the waiting rooms are comfortable. The IGA lounge is always crowded, it is difficult to find a place, the food in it is so-so. There is also an eternal queue in the toilet of the lounge. At the airport itself, the prices are horse-drawn, for a piece of baguette with ham and greens they ask 19.9 euros. The prices in dutifrey for perfumes are terrifying, I buy the same perfume in Spain 2 times cheaper.
Large, spacious, clean, modern. Great duty free, great choice, lots of staff who are ready to help. There are waiting areas where you can relax and recharge your phone. A large selection of cafes.
The new Istanbul Airport is a modern, spacious building made of glass and concrete. Well, it's very big, there are running tracks all over the airport, which is convenient for passengers with luggage, just put it on the tape and go along with the luggage. But due to the long distances, you should arrive at the airport in advance, as there are very long queues at the control and besides it takes a long time to get to your boarding gate. We had three hours before departure and barely made it. Keep this in mind. Everyone praises the duty-free shops, but due to the above, there simply wasn't enough time to visit them.
The airport is sooo big. Google says it is the largest in Europe and the top 3 in the world. But generally understandable. There are diagrams in the hall. The electronic circuit is also easily found on the Internet. Control and departure are on the same floor. Polite staff. Prices are higher as everywhere at the airport. A simit, for example, on Istiklal Street can cost 15 lire, and here 80 lire. But delicious) 😁 as without them. Duty free is luxurious, and in general the level of shops that are located is luxury. And the staff there are delicate, unobtrusive. There is a museum on the territory of the airport
Positive. Large, modern, lots of shops, food court, business halls. Pretty smart passport control. Clear navigation.
Minuses. WiFi is free for 1 hour, if without a business lounge, which is a shame for such a hub, I think. Toll carts are a shame too.
Prices in dutifrey are almost all Moscow prices, they do not sell water in them, which is also unclear. Although it is clear that everything is being done here to shake money off the people. It's better not to try eating in eateries, my son has been struggling with his stomach for a couple of days.
Well, half-hour "taxiing" on the runway, especially Turkish Airlines, is something.
Summary: it was built on a grand scale, but it was filled with merchants from the market.
A huge functional airport. Everything is thought out, convenient and understandable. There are many recreation areas, you can comfortably wait for your flight ... shops for every taste and budget. As well as a large selection of places where you can eat
A wonderful airport. Everything is perfectly organized, it is easy to get to the city by bus. A huge selection of cafes / shops and other things. If you have time for a transfer, I recommend that you take a look at the museum, which is located in the duty free zone on departure.
An excellent airport with a huge selection of cafes, restaurants, shops. You can buy everything from underwear to household utensils and useful accessories on trips. A whole city, which also has a place to relax. A lounge area where you can lie down and sleep, and it's free. One hour of Internet is free, then you need to buy with a card. This is inconvenient if there is no foreign bank card. But at McDonalds, you can choose food at the terminal, and pay at the checkout in cash.
The new Istanbul airport is as huge as a city, but it is planned very logically. This time I will not describe its pros and cons, but I will focus on one point - if you happen to fly there and quite by chance your relatives, friends, and acquaintances arrive there at about the same time, and then your paths diverge, then it is logical to meet them in the arrival area (especially if some go to the exit to the city, while others follow the transfer and fly on). There are several options to negotiate - the first option is near the baggage claim tape, but if there is no luggage, and you can't find this tape very quickly.;
The second option is near the famous colorful tree near the baggage claim (the place is noticeable, you can see it from afar);
The third option is after passing through customs with luggage at a pre-arranged place, for example, near a burger joint and so on.
And finally, the Fourth option, not the easiest, but the most (in my opinion) interesting, is when the one who arrived earlier can meet the arrivals right at the exit of the plane. How can this be done if there is no information about the exit number of incoming flights? In fact, it's very simple - in the arrivals hall, immediately after exiting the plane, there is information about departing flights. You know the number and time of the arrival flight, add one, two, three hours and find on this board the return flight to the same city from where the flight you need arrives, usually the number differs by one digit. And in this scoreboard, you can already see which exit it will be at. At Istanbul Airport, the arrival and departure exits for the mirror flight are the same, but they are located on different floors - the zones are separated. That is, you look at your friends' flight according to the online schedule, you can see from the information board that in a couple of hours there will be a return flight from the exit, for example D1 (these numbers are written high above the exits, mainly for departing ones), go to the arrival time at this exit and meet your own. Of course, just in case, we need to agree on a backup option (one of the first three), and we need to take into account that Turkish Airlines may not have this scheme.
But what a surprise awaits your friends and relatives. That's what I did, I did it.
I love this airport. It is grandiose in size, competently implemented. The modern, clean interior is fascinating. The ventilation works fine, the air inside is fresh. All services work well. Technically, the airport is thought out to the smallest detail. With millions of visitors, there is absolutely no hustle and bustle. The well-coordinated work of the staff is impressive. All signs are duplicated in several languages, and the staff is extremely customer-oriented.
A modern airport, beautiful, my first sight when landing in Istanbul!! The staff are polite, they will always help, prompt, not in English, but in sign language, although there are a lot of pointers without them. There are a lot of exchangers, but I do not advise changing there, the exchange rate is usually frantic, if only for a small amount to get to the hotel, for example. Thanks for hospitality ❤
New Istanbul Airport
It is very large with expansion plans, it already carries about 90 million passengers a year, now they are making a new European hub out of it, a lot of people, 5 branches to boarding gates, flights to all continents, the home port of Turkish Airlines.
A very large trade area: luxury brands and simpler, lots of cafes, pharmacies, bookstores, electronics.
The alcohol-cosmetics-perfume-sweets-cigarettes block is by default.
All the flights that I saw through the teletraps, but some are far to go and you need to set the time, at the same time there are electric cars for an additional fee.a fee that will be delivered to the boarding gate.
Business halls, depending on the alliance, I happened to be from Aeroflot, a good, but small hall, the food is quite normal, drinks are better than food.
Great new airport in Istanbul! Huge! But everything is clear and understandable. It is impossible to get lost and get lost. A scoreboard with information about arrivals/ departures at every step. There are racks everywhere where you can connect to Wi-Fi (connection is free for 1 hour). Good business halls. I liked the IGA (opposite gate C).
Whenever I fly with a transfer, I take tickets through Istanbul.Well, what about without Turkish sweets? I buy goodies for my family in Old Bazar.
Large airport, good airport navigation. A very large Duty-free with good prices and a large assortment. Lots of food courts. There are fountains with free water, but you need to look for it :-). The time at the airport will definitely fly by unnoticed. One disadvantage is that there is no pharmacy, I have a headache, I searched all the floors, there is no pharmacy anywhere.
The airport is huge, if it's your first time there, it's easy to get lost. There is everything - a lot of huge duty-free shops, toilets, cafes, recreation areas. The only inconvenience for Russians is that the World does not accept cards from Russian banks anywhere, UnionPay from rosbank works only in duty, in cafes and vending machines and it is impossible to pay them. Alas.
Istanbul airport is a separate art form, it is a separate infrastructure, you definitely need to come here in advance if you do not know what you want to buy in order to walk around and consider everything, there are a lot of shops and a choice of different gift options, eyes run away, Turkish lira is accepted at the ticket offices if you still have them, but keep in mind they will be transferred in Euros, at an unfavorable rate, everything will be indicated in the checks, so no one will deceive you there exactly with the course
Large convenient airport, normal navigation. Convenient connection to WiFi via terminals. A very convenient business lounge. It's just that there's not a particularly diverse assortment at night, but no one will stay hungry for sure. It takes about 7 minutes to get to the metro from the airport along the street. Buses run between Istanbul airports, if you need to fly from Sabiha, it is convenient to take a bus from the main airport.
In my opinion, this is the best airport in the world. There are many recreation areas, a decent food court, and the availability of free drinking water fountains is very pleasing. The main advantage is the clear location of the boarding gates.
The coolest airport, I really like it. There are a lot of cool restaurants and shops, places to relax, I never have enough time to walk properly and explore everything everywhere. Today you get to dutifrey, no matter which line you fly
The airport is very advanced, large, functional, everything is for people.
I especially liked the sleeping area, the toilet and food for animals, the historical museum, the TV viewing area, various channels. Generally a shock.
The airport is very large and modern, with all the information available. Clean, stylish, neat. You can connect to the Internet for free and sit on soft sofas, wait for registration
Convenient navigation, a large selection of places where you can pass the time waiting for the next flight, it is convenient to travel with pets. The airport is so big that it is better to take tickets with connections from an hour to make it to the boarding gate. When entering the city, everything is clear, there are shuttle buses to many areas of Istanbul.
I was amazed by its scale.
Sooo impressive size.
In general, it is cozy, comfortable, understandable and there are many Russian-speaking employees.
Comfortable conditions for waiting for departure; several Duty free shops.
Wow airport! Very big, clean (very clean) and clear! The metro is five minutes away, and it takes 5 minutes to walk from the terminals. Navigation is very accessible and the airport staff are very pleasant, they will always help. At the airport, you can change money and purchase an Istanbul metro card, they also explain everything in an accessible way! Duty-free is also super!
It is a very large airport, and navigation is very convenient and intuitive. It is better to go to the city by metro much faster. The station is a five-minute walk away.Exchangers with an unfavorable exchange rate, it is better to change a small amount only for the subway. In Istanbul itself, the exchange rate is 20-30% different.
