Well-thought-out convenient services, clear navigation, excellent combination of concrete and greenery in the courtyard. There is enough space for a huge number of people. It's easy to get there by metro.
The building is grandiose in its scale. The staff suggested the way and helped to get out of here at last. There is a metro nearby, which can be easily accessed by following the signs. This is the most profitable way to move around the city, with the opportunity to see the architecture. Transfers often involve long crossings, which is less convenient.
The new Istanbul airport is stylish, chic and easy to understand. Everything is marked up, arrows everywhere, cleanliness and order. But it's huge. If you arrive in transit, it is better to have about 3 hours for a transfer, delays are often. Although it does not always depend on the airport, it is better to wait quietly than to deal with the airline later so that you can be shoved on some next flight. However, in the case of a long-term transfer, you will be faced with a lot of temptations in the form of countless restaurants and dutifrey shops. But nothing, we train the will, we do not give in!
I liked the fountains with drinking water, there are several of them and there is even boiling water, you can make yourself tea if you don't want to go to the cafe.
There are a lot of waiting chairs, there is even a hotel and rest capsules inside the airport itself, there is no need to go anywhere. I liked the hotel, the room is really small and the price is horse-drawn, but if you really need to, then you can fully relax. I haven't tested the capsules yet.
There is also free internet, but I had to do a tambourine dance to connect.
But in general, it is an excellent, modern airport, the Turks are doing well.
A great big airport. There are many cafes and shops with a large assortment. The prices in duty free are not low, but the choice is good.
Put more time on transits, because large areas and not very convenient navigation (only for this I took off one asterisk)
Very friendly staff
Huge. It's just huge. Gigantic, to be exact. It's not exactly very beautiful, but it's very functional. It is zoned according to the needs of passengers.
Visual signs, it's spacious everywhere. It is not for nothing that they call it the largest in Europe.
However, because of this, you have to walk a lot. And there are not many places to sit down everywhere.
The local staff is very polite and helpful.
It's clean everywhere.
A huge airport! Good duty free, a variety of food establishments. I was especially pleased with the area with reclining chairs. Clean toilets. There are prayer rooms. By the way, wifi is already unlimited for free
Everything is fine, except for the food prices) coffee averages 6-8 dollars. There is a cafe outside with even more or less reasonable prices, it's better to eat/drink coffee there. You don't even have to look at souvenirs and everything else, there are airports where prices are slightly higher, but in Istanbul the difference is 5 times or more.
Well, I really like this airport! Everything is modern! Technically! Clear! Convenient! The metro is nearby! You feel like you're in Vnukovo, that is, at home! Beautiful! Convenient location! Everything is clear! Solid 5.
A modern super-equipped airport. It's not just an airport, it's a whole city. A big plus is that it is convenient to take the metro. We have made free Wi-Fi, now we are always in touch. While waiting for a flight, you can have a nice time walking around the airport and the dutifray zones.
A large airport, but with quite clear navigation. The Internet is only free for 1 hour, but for this you need to scan the passport in a special.the vending machine. There is a currency exchange. We changed rubles to lira without any problems (October 2024). The luggage room is not a cell, but young guys manually check out luggage for safety. We took the metro from the airport to the city center. There are more buses running, but we have not found where their stop is. We took a taxi back. It was a surprise that the driver took us along a toll road, so the price of the trip increased by 400 liras per toll section. But this is a translation error and then we realized our miscalculation.
A luxury airport, a favorite in Istanbul. Everything is simple and clear, fast, comfortable and convenient. A wonderful gallery of luxury boutiques of clothing and jewelry. Excellent French fries for every taste and prosperity. The restaurant area is pleased with the choice of cuisine from different countries, if you have run out of an hour-long WiFi slot, you can extend the time by getting free time at terminals around the airport by simply scanning your passport. Friendly staff, you get your luggage instantly, clean, stylish and beautiful. I always choose this airport instead of Sabiha Gokcen and I am always happy to return ♥️
An infinitely huge airport, with departures to different countries, almost all continents, which can be reached by metro, bus and of course car, for which there is a multi-level parking. From the outside, you can walk in the green area, there are places where you can hide from the sun, many places with children's entertainment areas. Document verification and registration are fast, the work is coordinated, for visiting tourists, using a foreign passport, you can access the Internet via wifi, but the free option is only for one hour, then only on a paid basis. After customs control, there is access to DUTY FREE, restaurants, and cafes for different tastes. Throughout the airport there are signs indicating where and in which direction to go to: check-in counters, take-off strip, information rooms, toilets, etc. For such a large airport, everything is easy, convenient and accessible, but I STRONGLY RECOMMEND COMING EARLIER, IT IS VERY LARGE))
A few weeks ago, I went on vacation and visited Istanbul's Ataturk Airport before the trip. As a person who travels frequently, I thought I already knew all the subtleties and tricks of airports. But this case has shown that something unexpected can always happen.
I arrived at the airport in advance to calmly go through all the checks and relax a little before the flight. There was very little time left after checking in for the flight, and I decided to buy myself a coffee. Standing in line at the cafe, I realized that I had forgotten my briefcase in the registration area! It contained a laptop, documents and other important things.
I instantly rushed back to the check-in area, hoping that the briefcase was still there. Running into the check-in area, I saw my briefcase: it was standing neatly on the security desk, but a group of airport employees had gathered around it. I immediately realized that these were my things, and ran towards them, waving my arms and shouting: "This is my briefcase! There's nothing dangerous about him!"
The staff began to make way, and I noticed that one of the guards was holding a small package in his hands. It turns out that I left in my briefcase not only my documents, but also a gift for a friend — a tiny toy helicopter with radio control. Putting together their story, the guards have already begun to deal with this "suspicious" object, and one of them even tried to launch it!
In the end, everything went without serious problems, the briefcase was returned to me, and everyone laughed at the situation together. The guard playfully commented: "It's good that it didn't take off," which amused everyone around.
This situation reminded me how important it is to be careful and not leave your belongings unattended. And, of course, I appreciated the kindness and humor of the airport staff, who helped make this unpleasant situation funny and unforgettable.
So be careful at airports and don't forget your briefcases, especially if you have a toy helicopter
A new hotel in Istanbul, many shops, there are places to eat, there are business halls (available in Russia for free with the loyalty of some banks, you can pay), there is a corner with Turkish restaurants, everything is quite tasty, you can pass the time between flights, it is better to go to boarding in advance, the airport is large
Excellent modern airport, well-organized passenger traffic. It was the first time, everything is intuitive even without knowledge of the language. And you can quickly get to the city by metro M11. You need to go to the final stop (Garethepp), and from there to almost any part of the city.
A gorgeous airport. The largest in Europe. Beautiful, spacious. It works smoothly and clearly. There is no fuss and endless queues. Everything is clear, even without knowing the language. They provide wi-fi for free (you can get a password from it in special terminals). The staff is friendly and always ready to help. There is a shuttle service, convenient access to public transport. The toilets are lovely with disposable toilet pads and a bidet function.
The only drawback (it is at our Airport, but not there) is the departure schedule indicating the terminal appears about an hour before departure. And the downside is that there are no lounge chairs in the waiting room where you can comfortably recline.
The airport left a wonderful impression.
One of the best airports in the world, excellent access and departure. There are inexpensive shuttles from the airport to the city, taxis in the airport exit area are very expensive, I also do not recommend calling a taxi, the price is not fixed. It is better to catch a taxi at the entrance to the airport, on the top floor, the cost is 1000 liras, to any hotel in Istanbul. There is free Wi-Fi at the airport for 1 hour with a passport. I do not recommend changes, the rate is very low. It is easy to navigate, there are a lot of shops and cafes.
It's a big airport, so I had to run.
On my last trip, I was in a hurry to make purchases at Dutch Free. I liked the sellers' work.
The airport itself is international, huge and not the most super convenient (arrival at one end, departure at the other. If the flight is connecting, you will have to hurry). The airport is always magically decorated. Oriental service: use the cart for a fee))), use the Internet for free - the first hour is free, and then pay!))
The airport is cool. Modern. Advanced. And don't get lost, even if it's the size of an urban neighborhood. But the prices in the stores are "I'm sorry.".. Okay, goochy louboutins! But the prices for Turkish sweets are several times higher than in Moscow! What for? Why? It's a Turkish product. Give ordinary people the opportunity to buy a gift for children. Anyway, never mind.
Istanbul's main airport. Everything is clearly indicated, but the distances are quite long. There are many shops, cafes and restaurants here, but the prices are a little too high. If you have to wait a long time for the next flight, there are many convenient places here.
Big and modern. An interesting solution with a seating area outside the building. There is a mosque nearby, as well as all transportation services : metro, taxis and buses. The airport is safe, lots of police with guns and scanning systems.
It's a big airport. And everyone can be there in between the tracks.other activities (shopping, river tours, lounge or post at the hotel).
Shopping; prices for everything are high for everything. Lacal souvenirs and traditional products are very expensive (2-4 times more expensive than in the city) expensive!
By far the largest air hub for us/Russians.
A chic, comfortable, beautiful airport! With convenient logistics from Istanbul - there is even a subway! Polite and friendly staff! An additional point of growth in the comfort of this huge international hub would be, in addition to airline representative offices, to make representatives of countries working around the clock at the airport. If there is a problematic situation with a transit passenger from Russia, they could explain to him in their native language what is happening and what solutions to the current situation there are. In YOUR NATIVE language! Many problematic issues would be solved in this way. And one of the best airports in the World would be even more comfortable!
Istanbul is a beautiful modern city, and the same can be said about the airport. All conditions are created here for a comfortable rest before and after the flight. There are many outlets with delicious food, souvenir shops, a pharmacy, restrooms for mother and child.
The airport has exceeded all our expectations! We haven't flown for a long time... The assistance service for the disabled is especially well organized - electric cars are just great for them! And of course, THANKS a LOT for the responsiveness of the airport staff (we managed to lose our hand luggage and find it with their help)..🧡
It's a great airport, and there's a lot to compare it with around the world. Courteous staff from customs to duty-free shops. Prices in DF are very attractive. There are no queues, and the layout is good. There is a smoking area. The food court is not rich, but you will find something to eat.
A chic airport, knowing a little English, you will not get lost. There are a lot of small shops, there is a place to eat. No problem, currency exchange, wi-fi connection, though only for one hour. Comfortable, plenty of space to wait for boarding.
A large modern airport, similar to Dubai airport, but in a subjective opinion even more. Of the disadvantages, there are many duty free stores with exactly the same assortment, in this regard, there is more variety at Dubai airport. The business halls in those that can be accessed by bank cards are crowded and the food in them is modest. Despite the fact that a lot of people visit the airport, nevertheless, all the screening and passport control procedures are carried out quickly. There is a fast track for 24 euros, but there is no strong need for it.
An incredibly huge structure in the form of a "Beetle". Free WI-FI for an hour at the terminals based on a scanned passport. Huge terminals and tablets - you can explore the entire airport structure by zooming in and scrolling through any zones.
The airport is easy to navigate, there are signs every 10 meters, everything is in order. The exchange offices are not at all at a predatory rate, the rate is very average, you can change money immediately at the airport. There are terminals for purchasing Istanbul cards (which you will use to travel by any land and water public transport), there is an exit to the metro - it is incredibly cheaper than ordering a taxi to the hotel. The metro is clear, all the schemes and branches are marked on the terminals. There are places with USB charging and other benefits of civilization in the waiting rooms. The best airport I've ever seen.
This airport is incredibly large, serving 350 destinations and a huge selection of duty-free shops. The surrounding area of the airport is impressive with views . I recommend arriving at the airport a little earlier than 3-4 hours in order to have time to see and appreciate the full power of this creation.
A huge, just huge airport. Especially when you enter a clean area. Moreover, the international terminal and the domestic are located in the same building. You can actually walk from one wing to the other for 30-40 minutes. There are many VIP halls and just restaurants, shops for every taste. In reality, planes from all corners of our planet arrive and fly away. There is even a hotel inside the international terminal where you can stay without going out into the city.
Big, very big. But quite understandable.
I like to go to the pharmacy before departure and take what I need home, the prices are the same everywhere, but here it's convenient to take everything you need.
There are not enough trolleys, as in Dubai, to walk freely around the entire hall, and not just in duty-free
A huge and very convenient airport, there is everything you need, there are smoking rooms in every sector, there is a hotel, places to sleep both paid and free, convenient navigation, but the distances are huge, if the transfer is at least 2 hours it is better to lay.
Yeah, it's an amazing airport. Incredibly convenient, courteous staff at every stage of control. .I use a walking stick...Some border guards even have a sense of humor..which pleasantly surprised me..I forgot my plastic residence permit card, it's good that the photo is on the memory card. We missed it without any questions...
A huge and beautiful airport. Easy navigation and hints inside the airport. Even if you don't know the language, you can easily find check-in desks, passport control, and departure areas. There are quite a few shops and cafes where you can pass the time before departure.
A huge international hub. Everything is for people, except the prices of course. Everything is clear and intuitive. I especially liked the drinking fountains, the devices for distributing the Internet according to the passport. The toilets are clean, everything is necessary. There are smoking rooms. There is a huge selection of everything in duty free, there is even a ps5 on sale. Generally cool!!!
The BEST!
I fly frequently and have visited many airports in Europe, Asia and the United States. Istanbul Airport is not only convenient and intuitive, without crazy transfers and trips between terminals, there are also many shops, Duty-Free points and a huge selection of cafes. There is even homemade Turkish cuisine.
You can get a coupon for an hour of Internet at special kiosks.
A very huge new airport, everything is logically understandable, intuitive, but just a huge number of people. On the 1st floor there is an arrival zone, everything is simple - we arrived, received our luggage (there are many displays indicating the pick-up area), there is a cafe at the exit, exchangers, car rental, ATMs on the 2nd floor. It is impossible to exchange rubles at the airport or withdraw money from a union Pay card, but there are no problems in the city. A car can be rented for cash. In the departure area there are several playgrounds with climbing walls, slides, many shops and cafes, but the food is very expensive, probably one of the most expensive in the world.. Registration and customs control passed quickly enough, we registered in the business lounge (there is also a queue there..), ate, rested, took enough food, drinks, water, fruits with us, we flew with the infamous Victory)), where they neither drink nor feed for a 5.5 hour flight, and tickets are very expensive...they barely "stuffed themselves" into the infamous "norms" of Victory and flew home... There are strollers for children, strong enough, my child likes to ride them, while we were driving to the business hall and stood in line - I even slept .., bags, backpacks were placed on it - I stood everything, and none of the employees scolded that the child was big (at 8l , 140 height)- this is a huge plus.. Everything is clean, both in the bathrooms with such a flow and in the business hall..
A convenient modern hub . It is technologically advanced in all respects, including a capsule hotel and numerous cafes and restaurants. When compared with European airports . Then we can note the high level of comfort and service. However, as in all of Turkey, the prices are very high. This is typical for countries with hyperinflation . Overall, it makes a pleasant impression. The airport staff is polite and helpful.
Perhaps the best airport in the world) It is spacious, everything is very convenient, the level of service, everything is fine. Wonderful recreation and waiting areas, shopping, restaurants, smoking areas.
It's not a bad airport, but it's very large. Nevertheless, it's easy to navigate. All the food is very expensive, the quality wants to be better. The last time, I got poisoned by pasta in this cafe. The view is decent, there are enough people. She went hungry after three shifts of the dish, spoiled minced meat and gravy from it were added to all dishes except pizza and French fries. Don't be fooled by the decent look of this cafe.
Everything would be fine, but you need to add navigation about everything, increase the amount of Internet to 2-3 hours in such a hub, and there is a terrible drawback - TAX FREE, it's madness to make such a disgusting organization!! You can not collect queues for 4-5 hours, this is an outrage!! Next, we need to increase the windows of the aisles, the crowd is all around, the bazaar is real. There are a lot of shops around, but there is nowhere to sit down, think, and running from one part to another is also not for the faint of heart.. in short, the airport is good, but there are a lot of disadvantages. Istanbul Airport has introduced unlimited Internet access, without any "email us and we will figure it out." Already big +
The airport is a megalopolis!
Positive: quick check-in/passport controls/baggage check-out. Everything is fast!
On the downside, the logistics of the airport assumes that you have a lot of time to move from the security area to the boarding gate. It is absolutely clear that this is a brilliant marketing move, because your path goes through all the world's brands and snack bars. However, even if you are not interested in shopping at all and the task is just to get on a plane, it is ALWAYS a long way to stomp to it. It's good that there are signs: the A42 exit is about 15 minutes away 😹
I am impressed by the scale and architecture, it is very large, comfortable and beautiful. And most importantly, thoughtful. There are many shops with reasonable prices, and of course there are some with exorbitant prices).
Everything is organized in the best possible way: signs, staff who are always ready to help and, if necessary, guide you to the right place. High service. I recommend it both for flights to Turkey and for transit flights.
The airport impresses with its size, thoughtfulness, cleanliness, and a lot of signs in different languages. There are several verandas for smokers in both the check-in and departure areas. A good, modern airport.
A huge airport where everything works like clockwork. Despite the human flow, all the procedures are quite fast. There is a great business lounge, a terrace and a smoking area, but the distances are huge, of course, go to your exit in advance)
The airport is huge, there are a lot of people, both on arrival and on departure - the distances are very long, it takes a long time to walk. Duty Free stores are located in the center, and if you stay for a longer time, you may be late for boarding, further to the boarding gates there are only sweets and alcohol stores, but I would like perfumes, textiles, and leather goods. If we visit Istanbul again in the future, we will definitely not get lost.
I really liked the airport, it's so big that you can get lost, but the staff will always help and prompt. There is a lot of traffic there. There are a lot of shops in the airport itself, but don't overdo it. The prices are high. Getting to know a city (country) always starts from the airport.
The airport is normal and modern. But don't eat at McDonald's! Expensive, 4 times more expensive than in Europe. We were at the airport in Munich, so there was a covered meadow for 23 euros, tea in mugs and very tasty. In Istanbul, it cost more than 60 euros and was not delicious, they took it at a minimum, but paid for it to the maximum. The price tag for food at this airport exceeds all reasonable limits!
