The journey from Almaty by car takes about 4 hours. The quality of the roads is mostly good. There are a couple of small areas where you need to slow down due to the condition of the roadway. The nature is beautiful. We stayed overnight at Kolsay Lakes Village. The kitchen is not bad. The staff is working well. Everyone is polite and helpful. We are always ready to help. Leisure activities include catamaran or boat trips on the lake and horseback riding. For information: there is no connection near the lake, so you need to take cash with you. As a result: the road is long, but not boring, you can enjoy all the beauties in 1 day, it makes sense to go more than 1 day only if you want to visit Lake Kaindy, which takes almost the whole day. You need to take cash with you. For those who like long-distance trips by car and want to be out of the access zone for the whole day, and for one to admire the beautiful nature - I recommend it!
You can get from Alma-Ata in three hours. 290 km. For the most part, the road is 4+, you can drive to cruise control. Only two small sections of 15-17 kilometers of old asphalt.
The entrance is directly to the lake, as in the photo, then go down.
You can go upstream of the Chilik River to the middle and upper lakes.
A great place, we should appreciate that we have such a wonderful place in Kazakhstan. Complete harmony with nature, its beauty is not inferior to Alpine meadows. Sometimes we don't appreciate what's under our noses. We went with friends and filmed content soon on our YouTube channel
The road has become simply beautiful. The infrastructure is being built. We need to improve people's service and culture.
But the lake itself is a godsend. Beautiful nature
