We have been to Mir Castle several times with excursions and on our own. It is always interesting and informative. There are many exhibits in the castle, beautifully decorated halls and showcases. Competent guides, courteous staff. The area around is clean and well maintained, despite the large number of people. There is a Church of St. Nicholas not far from the castle, I also recommend a visit. The only point, try to set aside a whole day for inspection. Then you can fully enjoy a leisurely walk and a tour of the castle. We also went to Nesvizh, and it was already too much.
An impressive place. I heartily advise you to visit. Majestic, beautiful, interesting.
My advice is to take a guided tour. Our tour of the castle was intense and informative, and I liked the guide. The castle itself impresses with its architecture. (I liked it better than Nesvizh Castle).
You will have to walk a lot on steep and narrow stairs, be prepared for this. Speaking of stairs, you can climb the observation tower (you'll have to climb a SUPER steep staircase very high), but if you have the strength and desire, I advise you to climb.
The castle is very interesting. This is an object with a very rich history. It has survived several epochs, many owners, was part of different countries, absorbed the culture of various peoples.
The castle itself seemed relatively small, but with a fairly large exposition. It is well maintained both inside and outside. It is surrounded by a small park pleasant for walking.
It makes sense to use the services of a guide. A good storyteller will "enliven" the expositions. For a full-fledged bypass, you will need to move between floors, including along narrow stairs. He carried his four-year-old son up the stairs in his arms.
The castle is guaranteed to appeal to fans of history, medieval times, and military themes.
Running in a hurry, you can inspect the castle in half a day and leave, for example, for Nesvizh. Getting to know each other can take a whole day. You can have a snack and relax a little here.
We were on vacation in Minsk, we decided to arrange an excursion to this castle, a gorgeous place, and from the outside inside, the museum is cool, the exhibits are interesting. I was very pleased with the restaurant - borscht is above all praise . For the first time in my life, I tried draniki with sausages, it turns out now I love draniki🙂 A good souvenir shop in the castle, the prices are reasonable- especially for tinctures 😉
It was in September. Very twofold feelings after the visit. It is incredibly beautiful outside, a large territory, a pond and a majestic castle.
After entering the territory, we went to see an exhibition of wax figures. I saw it for the first time, creepy and beautiful. Judith was especially impressed.
I felt very sad about the castle. A completely commercial project. An awkward renovation that doesn't look anything like a renovation. Cheap ceramic tiles with strange and inappropriate decorations, chrome handrails. A huge amount of strange and ridiculous light. Lanterns and spotlights at every turn.
Crowds of people who can't move around the towers, queues of 20-30 minutes. There are no representatives of the administration along the way of inspection, no one oversees or distributes the flow of people.
I appreciated the furniture, which is partially represented in the castle, it's definitely worth a look.
I repeat, it is very sad. It would seem that such a serious part of Belarusian culture, historical heritage.... Ehh...
It's a very atmospheric place. It can be described for a long time. We walked around and took tickets to the internal expositions, liked the towers and the main hall. We spent 3 hours on everything, but it's just running. I do not advise taking tours to the tower too tightly, there are very narrow and steep stairs, but this has happened historically. In general, you get into the life of a medieval castle, and the music in the main courtyard also helps. I recommend.
There is a normal free Parking, near the souvenir market, where without it. The castle has a restaurant, restrooms, a gift shop, everything is in excellent condition and perfectly fits into the style of the castle. There weren't many shops, but there were enough for everyone.
After the renovation, the castle was pleased. Everything is very beautiful. And the area along the pond was put in order. The only thing that upset me was that there are very few expansions when you climb the wall and towers. The stairs are very steep, I was very afraid of heights, I did not go up to the very last floor, but those who were there said that it was empty.. there is an ordinary staircase that rises to half the height (on the wall), but it was made only for descending, which is a pity... Well, the halls in the usual halls were pleased, everything is very beautiful and interesting. There are atmospheric cafes in the basement (the children ate nuggets with French fries there, and we ordered chebureks), and a restaurant. There is an elevator in the main lobby (but I understand it is for the disabled), The overall impression is good. Tickets are not cheap... But you can choose what you want to attend. For small children, the lift is free. There is a souvenir shop on the first floor, where we bought a Crambambula (a family holiday was just planned). There are also tents with souvenirs near the parking lot, we bought magnets and bracelets, the dishes are very expensive. Almost everyone works only with cash. And one more nuance that we did not immediately understand... The toilet at the entrance to the complex is paid... And the building downstairs is free (you can go there without a ticket). There are also large pavilions on the Shchamkov territory where food is prepared (for example, kebabs). If one of the relatives or an acquaintance comes from afar, then a visit to the Mir Castle at home will definitely be included in the visit))
My family and I really enjoyed it! A gorgeous place, beautiful architecture.
For a fee, you can walk along the high castle walls and towers or see the interiors. Think in advance about comfortable clothes, don't be like me😆 There are many narrow passages and steep stairs in the castle, it will be very uncomfortable to move around them in a long dress and sandals)
The entrance to the castle is free of charge. There is a beautiful park with a lake around the castle. I definitely advise you to visit this place.
The exposition is gorgeous, I have never seen such museums before, there are a lot of exhibits, both originals and very high-quality reconstructions. The number of halls, galleries, towers, stairs and basements is simply off the charts! everything is furnished with respect and professionalism!
But a very important point is that all Worldly catering is focused on the maintenance of organized excursions, and in most cases, when you go in for a snack, you will see the sign "Special Service", we were not able to have lunch...
A very beautiful castle with beautiful architecture and an interesting history. Inside the castle there are many rooms, each of which presents various expositions with their descriptions. The area around the castle is very picturesque, there is a small lake. Inside the castle there is a hotel, a restaurant, a souvenir shop with a variety of products for visitors. I recommend you to visit.
Mir Castle is a real pearl of Belarusian architecture and history. After visiting this magnificent structure, I was surprised by its scale and beauty. The castle fascinates with its appearance. I especially remember climbing the narrow stairs of the towers. It was not only fascinating, but also a little mysterious — each staircase keeps its secrets. The surrounding landscape is also pleasing to the eye: well-maintained parks and a pond create an atmosphere of privacy and tranquility. It is an ideal place for walks and photos. I recommend it to anyone who wants to get in touch with the rich historical heritage of Belarus!
An amazing fabulous place. The territory is large and well maintained. The castle
is majestic. You feel like a real prince (princess). Purely
by chance, we decided to stay at the hotel for 2 nights and did not regret it,
we lived in a comfort room for one day, the second night in a suite. The staff is lovely
and polite. An iron and a kettle can be requested in the room. The rooms are clean
and tidy, but it would not hurt to refresh the renovation in the bathrooms (therefore, I remove one star)!
There are many impressions left and for a long time. We will definitely recommend
it to our friends!
We arrived at the castle in early November, the weather was not very good, the wind was strong, but it was warm and comfortable inside. We had a group tour with a guide. The tour is very interesting, there was no unnecessary and boring information, during the tour we were not tired or tired. The 500-year-old walls inside the castle were very impressive. After completing the guide's story, we explored the remaining halls on our own. The ticket price includes a visit to the prison room in the basement of the castle, you can climb two towers. When climbing up, there is a very narrow space where one person can fit, so we had to wait for the flow of people descending, and then climb further. The steps are high, the staircase is spiral, you need to climb very carefully. There were additional expositions on the floors that can be studied, and at the very last level of the tower there is a beautiful view. There is a souvenir shop, a restaurant on the territory of the castle, and the Mir Park with a chapel around the castle. I liked everything very much, I advise everyone to visit!
Good afternoon! Since the last visit to Mir Castle (6 years ago), everything has changed greatly for the better, especially the area around the castle. Everything is well maintained and refined. The exposition inside the castle and the halls are also at a high level, although nothing has changed inside. I can say one thing: stability is a sign of mastery! Well done Belarusians!!! I definitely advise you to visit and breathe the air of antiquity!
A gorgeous place: a renovated castle, a beautiful park around. Climbing and descending in towers is another quest: narrow passages, steep stairs. But we really liked it. We can take an audio guide, but we didn't get it. It's probably better to take a guided tour. On the territory of the castle there is a hotel, catering points, a souvenir shop. I recommend you to visit and plunge into this atmosphere.
A beautiful castle, interesting interactive exhibitions. Wonderful interiors. Affordable prices, interesting tour support. There are events for different age groups. Conveniently located. You can have a delicious meal in the antique interior. I recommend you to visit.
A place that leaves an unforgettable impression. I am very glad that we visited there. The castle has been restored. The thick old walls are included in the UNESCO heritage. The interior is very beautifully restored. You can walk along the defensive walls, go down to the basement where the prison was, and be sure to go to the chapel outside the territory. You can even stay overnight and have lunch! I definitely recommend visiting the castle.
The castle is very interesting! We visited on the way from Minsk to Brest on 12.26.24. If desired and possible, you can spend the whole day. Renovated interiors, rich exposition. Curious ascents in the towers. I give 4 stars because of the restaurant: I didn't like the service, the dishes were mediocre in taste, the prices were high, even relative to the central restaurants in Minsk.
It's a very beautiful place. Beautifully restored buildings and interiors. An interesting exposition of the museum. Great respect to the Belarusians who managed to restore this architectural pearl so quickly and efficiently and make it one of the cultural pearls of Belarus.
In general, there is a good exposition, weapons, armor, a lot of personal belongings, dishes. A separate tower is dedicated to the Jewish ghetto, but the exposition consists mainly of printed texts and photos in poor quality, so it is more like a prototype of a wall newspaper than an exhibition. Probably, if you read all this, it is very informative.
In addition to the floors of the castle itself, the main exposition includes towers and a basement. The towers are labyrinthine staircases and several small halls, either empty or with unremarkable exhibits. The basement is actually a small room with a shameful block, which would be a fun attraction for a roadside cafe, but somehow it's too weak for a museum. Given the stairs and passages that require physical effort, you can safely score on these extras, you will not lose anything.
I was at the time of the school holidays, the flow of visitors was large, but this, oddly enough, came as a surprise to the museum administration and no one thought of increasing the number of wardrobe workers. The only employee of the wardrobe, of course, could not cope, although she tried. The administrator also did not consider it relevant to lower any of the numerous cocktail aunts into the wardrobe. As a result, I waited in line for half an hour to hand over my clothes, which is the first time I've visited museums all over the planet in many years. In other words, the administration does not see the need to increase spending due to an increase in the number of ticket sales, which affects the overall impression. Well, let's say to ourselves, process optimization.
There is a restaurant with good cuisine and service in the basement of the castle. And, by the way, he turned out to be the only one not closed for "special maintenance" in the district.
I recommend visiting Mirsky to Nesvizh Radziwill Castle, and not vice versa.
One of the most famous castles
Belarus.
Laconic and at the same time majestic landscape, strict, brutal, no frills castle.
At the same time, it is majestic. The area around is well maintained, a romantic pond in which it is forbidden to swim - people are drowning!!!!
A chapel of exquisite beauty, surrounded by a centuries-old park…
It didn't work out to spend the night ... to fully absorb the atmosphere of a medieval castle, it's a pity!
One of the most famous castles in Belarus. A must-visit. Concise and brutal. At the same time, it is majestic. There is a well-groomed territory with a pond around, you can walk and enjoy the beauty, visit the chapel located here on the territory of the castle. In the evening, from 22.00 to 23.00, the backlight turns on, which gives additional atmosphere to the castle.
There is a hotel on the territory of the castle. If possible, be sure to spend the night in the castle. But keep in mind that you need to book rooms in advance (all detailed information is available on the official website of the Mir Castle). We booked 2 nights in the hotel in advance and did not regret it at all. Very comfortable and atmospheric room. They felt like a kind of princes or counts. Special thanks to the hotel staff - very polite and pleasant.
There is also a Princely Courtyard restaurant on the territory of the castle. Be sure to try the dishes of this restaurant. Sometimes, due to the crowded nature, you will have to wait 30-35 minutes for the dish, but believe me it's worth it. The serving of the dishes and the taste of the dishes themselves are gorgeous!!
In general, I definitely recommend visiting Mir Castle!!!
A very beautiful place. The castle is very beautiful, a good educational tour, Excellent views from the towers. Cool stairs for climbing and descending to the towers, the children really liked it, but adults take care of their heads. We had a great time
It was the third time with an interval of 8 years. The territory has become even bigger and more beautiful. Clean, beautiful. There are several mini-cafes and Parking nearby.
There is a photo zone inside the castle for a small fee. Interesting excursions (we did not take them ourselves, but we accidentally got into the group for a while).
The chapel is very beautiful, it was still under reconstruction on our last visit.
There is a hotel inside the castle for those who want to plunge into the Middle Ages. There is a small but cozy hotel nearby. There are few people on a weekday.
There are additional exhibitions - this time wax figures from St. Petersburg were exhibited.
I recommend that you definitely visit.
I really liked it! It was restored magnificently! Everything is beautiful and pleasant!
It's definitely worth a trip here.
The only disadvantage is that we were not allowed to climb the castle wall with a dog. What harm a dachshund dog can do to a stone castle is completely unclear.
One of the most beautiful and interesting places in our country.
A beautiful park and a pond right next to the castle, many different birds.
An interesting history of the castle, I advise you to read it if you decide to visit.
In summer, various events and even concerts are held on the territory - see the poster, you can combine it with a visit to the castle.
If you take a blanket or a blanket with you, you can sit on the shore of the reservoir, watch the birds and nature and admire the castle.
Among the disadvantages, food is very poorly organized on the territory next to the castle, tents with food / water. There is little choice, mostly snacks or a long wait for food, so be prepared for this.
There is a toilet, but it is paid, which is strange because you have already paid for admission.
There is also a coffee shop and a hotel in the castle itself.
You can get there by car, there are large parking lots. Buses also run there several times a day.
For the sake of 2 castles (Mirsky and Nesvizh), he persuaded the family to leave St. Petersburg. And it was worth it. An excellent castle, a great place to visit. The only problem was to visit 2 castles (Mir and Nesvizh) in a row. We spent 3 hours in Mirsky. There are a lot of spiral staircases, places where you can sit and explore, feel the old way of life, put on armor and fence (try in such heavy armor)). The children were very tired, but they were satisfied. Mir Castle is gorgeous. It reminded me of the castle of Amboise from France, the same medieval, honest, chivalrous. Class. I definitely recommend it!
The world is magnificent and inimitable. There are a lot of tourists in the season, but, in principle, people do not interfere with each other too much in a large area. You can arrange beautiful photo shoots. Fans can climb the towers and walls to their heart's content. At the same time, keep in mind that there is no navigation, the streams intersect, and sometimes congestion occurs in the narrowest sections.
A very interesting place with a beautiful history... The castle itself is magnificent, mysterious, beautiful, as from a postcard. It has been restored since the 70s, at that time there were only walls... The town is beautiful, small, well maintained. Wonderful souvenirs for both children and adults can be purchased both in the castle and outside its walls (even more interesting and diverse)
A very beautiful and interesting place, a wonderful guide in the castle itself, I liked the castle more than Nesvizh. I'll be happy to come back. By the way, during the holiday season in Russia, they said not to crowd at all, we were in October on a weekday and I will not say that it was spacious, tour after tour. Nevertheless, the guides tried to make sure that everyone had enough space and did not interfere with each other.
A very nicely decorated place))) there is plenty of room to walk inside and outside, but again there are shoals where the restorators have overdone it. And it's very beautiful and picturesque here. There are also performances of "stuntmen". I advise you to visit!
Very interesting! The castle is well restored, there is lighting everywhere. The exposition is not bad, the life of the nobles of the Middle Ages is well represented.
There is a souvenir shop, the prices there are lower than those of the merchants on the street.
A wonderful atmospheric place. One of the most beautiful castles in Belarus. I definitely recommend you to visit. We took an individual tour, it's much more interesting than walking by ourselves. Be sure to take a ticket to the towers with passages, where you can climb real ancient passages.
It is a very beautiful and atmospheric place. A real castle, we wandered there for several hours, we really liked everything. Close descents and ascents in towers and dungeons, galleries, exhibitions, architecture, I really liked everything.
I recommend you to visit
This is a masterpiece, in the middle of small towns it is simply not realistic to meet such beauty. It's like entering an ancient world. Everything is very reliably and efficiently done. The building, interior, furniture, objects and dishes are all antique. It impresses with its splendor. I highly recommend it, it's very easy to get there, there are signs everywhere, there is plenty of parking space. There are also many places to eat. Tickets can be purchased through the website and at the ticket office. Excursions can only be booked in advance. There may be no places
Beyond praise. We will definitely come back with friends. To the organizers of such a stylish place... thank you very much! Everything is neat. There is a museum nearby. You can walk around the entire castle until nightfall. Very good. Expensive... Yes, but what to do. Should I maintain such an infrastructure?.. it is also not cheap, but very expensive.
I recommend it for romantics. Or for those who want to experience unforgettable days and nights with their betrothed
It is a very beautiful place, the views are wonderful all around, the castle is reflected in the lake.
The interior has also been restored, there are few exhibits of their own, they are trying to restore and redeem the found objects that once belonged to the owners of the castle. A lot still depends on the guide, ours was very enthusiastic himself, but he couldn't get us carried away (there is too much haphazard information, the thread of the narrative is quickly lost).
But I advise you to visit the castle, it will also be interesting for children, you can climb through narrow passages, basements and towers.
A hyper-brutal castle that patiently "survived several epochs, many owners, was part of different countries, absorbed the culture of different peoples"...
Briefly about the main thing for Ladies in the prime of life:
"Shoes are comfortable and stable!
Preferably pants and shorts after all.
In dresses, it is as uncomfortable as possible to climb the tiers of towers or descend into the dungeon of a prison."
If you want an active holiday and a lot of positive emotions, you are here, you will not regret it.
I liked everything from the word absolutely everything.
The staff is friendly and friendly (there is something to compare it with).
The atmosphere is mesmerizing on the way. But primitive. There is a minimum of sophistication here. The life and everyday life of that time is what it was. Accordingly, it will be more difficult to inspect the lock in stilettos than in sports shoes. It's all narrow passageways and twisted staircases. Sometimes the extreme is even worse.
I definitely recommend going around the castle. There are bonuses there. This is not counting the gorgeous nature that surrounds this wonderful place.
Definitely do not be lazy to walk or drive around the city itself. Splendor can be found on almost every corner.
A great place to visit with the whole family. It's interesting to walk around the museum. It is very interesting to climb the stairs of the tower and basement. Walk around the balcony.
Both adults and children liked it.
I recommend it!!!
If the physical form allows, then you can't find a better lock. You can climb into each tower, climb the walls. It's cool, but of course not for everyone. Very beautiful views from the towers to the inner and outer territory. It was really interesting to climb somewhere and look at the castle from a new angle. The museum exposition and interior interiors are nothing special, on 3 out of 5. But I liked the castle as a whole more than Nesvizh. Because I prefer physical interactive to a museum exhibit;)
Your wonderful castle welcomed us as welcome guests. The hotel is in the castle! What could be more exciting for travel lovers! It's soulful, colorful. And in addition, a restaurant where you want to have breakfast, lunch, and dinner. We will definitely come to you again. AND THANKS)
An ancient castle. I really liked it, it was an interesting tour, atmospheric, there are towers that you can enter, climb up a very steep spiral staircase to the roof, walk along the gallery, go down to the basement. I recommend
A beautiful place, not far from Minsk (75 km), also relatively nearby (about 30 km) is the second Nesvizh Castle). It's very beautiful, but the castle itself is small, so there are a lot of people on holidays and weekends. There is a hotel on site and you can stay in a real castle!
I definitely advise you to visit this magnificent castle with its atmospheric decoration, get acquainted with its history, wander through the halls with exhibitions, as well as visit several interesting towers and enjoy magnificent views of the territory. They say that a real ghost roams the castle at night! I advise you to visit the Knyazhy Dvor restaurant inside and have a very tasty meal by candlelight!
We were there in July 2024. Entrance is paid, but inexpensive, about 600 Russian (17 Belarusian) rubles, if you take everything. It can be cheaper to take it, but there the program will not include some of the places where you can go. TAKE EVERYTHING!
The tour takes place independently, in the towers themselves you can walk along narrow passages in the walls. You will see the weapons and get into the spirit of that time. Plus a lot of household items and parts of the exterior and interior decoration. Imagine yourself as a knight) or a beautiful lady who is guarded by a dragon)))
Fans of Game of Thrones will especially enjoy the courtyard and the passage between the towers.
Be sure to come here, along the way of the main sightseeing destinations. It's free to walk inside. There is often a cool interactive program there - for 30 minutes. It's a bomb. Tough guys.
Set an hour + to eat for the entire visit.
There are two parking lots, you can find a place, but it's difficult.
