The hotel is located in a picturesque peninsula and has a vast and pretty clean beach with soft white sand.
Crossing the Bentota river in a boat to enter the hotel is fantastic experience.
But to be honest the travellers must be aware that the hotel is shaggy and unclean, it requires renovation. I attach some pictures from the family room.
The food in the restaurant tastes and looks good, but it's rather monotonous.
No white wine available, only one type of red wine in the restaurant and in the bar.
In the main restaurant the staff is concerned mostly about not letting any food be carried out by children rather than serving tables. You can't expect an extra clean fork or spoon, you will be advised to eat your desert with a dirty one.
We kept on experiencing total blackout in the room (lights went off in the room several times every day without a certain reason), and we had to fix it. It was rather annoying.
The water in the bathroom sink was not going through and stayed in the sink.
Cigarette butts were not cleaned up at the sunbed area near the pool.
I'm not too picky and demanding, but I can hardly recommend a hotel that fails to meet such basic expectations. Be it 3, 4 or 5 star. Sorry.

A great hotel with a great variety of cuisine. In addition to local cuisine, fruits and sweets, there is always European cuisine. The rooms are cleaned daily. Water, tea, sugar, coffee and milk powder are always available in the room. A restaurant with access to the veranda and a view of the river. A monitor lizard is on duty under the veranda, waiting for food). I really liked the hotel. And it's not bugs that bite there, of course, but local midges. And people's reactions are different, someone has a vivid reaction and they all itch (there are few of them), others have nothing. Apparently the immune system is stronger. You can take antihistamines. And yes, our mosquito repellents don't really work on them. We were vacationing with a friend, she was significantly bitten, I'm not there. In general, I recommend the hotel. We liked everything!)

We had a rest at the end of September 2024. Friendly and courteous staff, daily and high-quality room cleaning (they made different figures out of towels and flowers), the room was on the 3rd floor with a view of the river, the food is normal, you will not stay hungry (there are a lot of spicy dishes). We took everything inclusive, locally produced drinks (red wine, white, beer, cocktails and of course the local red Calypso rum). The ocean is beautiful, but it was very stormy, I couldn't swim much because of the strong waves (it all depends on the season). The hotel grounds are clean and well maintained. On the last evening before departure, we were pleasantly surprised, the restaurant set the table just for us (flowers and swans from napkins), and in the room roomboy laid out a bed of twigs and flowers goodbye.

We stayed at this hotel from 30.12 to 08.01.2025. Of the advantages, there is a beautiful beach, ocean, pool area, the staff tries to keep the level of service, delicious desserts. That's where the advantages ended.
Cons: you need to get to the hotel by boat or ferry. It significantly poisoned our lives when we went on excursions around the island in the early morning hours or at night. The rooms were ruined: the tulle and murals above the bed were torn and dirty, and it was as if a crowd in dirty shoes had walked through the night curtains. The whole bathroom is affected by black mold, it basically did not dry out all the rest. On the last day, a red-haired, mustachioed cockroach visited us in our room. A refrigerator on demand, a bathrobe / slippers were not even taken in conditions of poor washing.
In terms of nutrition, all inclusive differs from the "breakfast-dinner" option by the presence of lunch and a small list of drinks. The main wide selection of drinks in all inclusive is not possible, you must sign for each ordered drink. 70% of the food consists of national cuisine, the eternal problem of finding something to eat. For the first time, the children celebrated the New Year with a "fancy dinner" in the form of pasta with unroasted chicken (with blood), a meager selection of fruits: watermelon-banana-papaya. Once there was a sour passion fruit.
The only entertainment options are fitness in the pool, live music in the bar after dinner. In the evening, there is nowhere for children or adults to put themselves, since the pool is closed from 19.00, access to the beach is not possible, no events are held.
New Year's Eve dinner is a separate song, the price of champagne (and it's very expensive, about 20 thousand per bottle), the waiters also had to pay extra.
Well, the final chord is the cost of the tour. For early bookings in October, the fun&sun tour operator informs 2 days before departure, when requesting documents, that the originally booked 5-star hotel is in overbooking, unilaterally changes the hotel to this 4-star, positioning it as the best. In compensation, he gives as a gift the very New Year's dinner for $ 330, the price of which was more than paid for by us due to hidden surcharges in the amount of $ 310. The cost of this hotel at the time of booking was 200,000 rubles cheaper. We were badly divorced and the money was not returned! Beware of working with fun&sun, choose alternative hotels.

I stayed at this hotel in January 2025.
I really liked everything! Yes, the hotel is not new. And many rooms are a little tired, but that's not critical. It's a very beautiful location. The hotel is located between the Bentota River and the ocean, has a wonderful beach, spacious rooms, well-maintained grounds, a large, clean swimming pool, very friendly and helpful staff, and a wide variety of food.There is a spa center that offers yoga classes in the morning and various spa treatments.
Sri Lanka is a stunning ocean and nature. It is also an amazing and interesting history and culture of the peoples living on the island.
When going on vacation to Sri Lanka, be sure to plan excursions. We went on several excursions with Chat ( +94 77 301 7677 ). The Bentota River safari was like a mini adventure: we saw small crocodiles, fed wild monkeys, saw monitor lizards, visited an Ayurvedic garden , and enjoyed the beauty. rainforest .
The other tour was even more exciting. We visited a turtle farm, fed the turtles and swam with them on Hikkaduwa beach, got acquainted with the factory where moonstone is mined and processed, and wandered through the ancient streets of the beautiful city of Galle.
And visiting the solemn ceremony at the Buddhist temple of Kandy Vihara on the day of the full moon left an indelible impression.
Chatu not only organized and conducted excursions , but also helped us ( on his tuk - tuk) to get to various shops and restaurants . I recommend Chat as an attentive and responsive person who also speaks good Russian .
We also went on a 2-day excursion! Early departure and late arrival are definitely worth it to see the nine-arch bridge, take a train ride, admire the beauty of the mountains and architecture of Nuwar Eliya (the most English city on the island), visit tea plantations and the beautiful Royal Botanical Garden in Kandy.
I've seen so much and so little during my extraordinary journey.
Sri Lanka has captured my heart. And I really hope it 's mutual.

A very interesting hotel located between the river and the ocean. The staff is very hospitable and friendly. The restaurants are gorgeous, everything is very tasty. These are bed bugs, alas, but in the deluxe room 1206 with a view of the river there were bed bugs that bit us well. We returned home all bitten and itched terribly. The hotel is very nice, picturesque location, gorgeous beach, cleanliness everywhere, room cleaning was very high quality on a daily basis. The kitchen is super! There were always fresh, delicious products and a variety of dishes. We went on an all-inclusive basis, in this hotel and in this resort this is the best option, because there are not many restaurants or cafes nearby, Centara has excellent cuisine, professional chefs. It is better to buy vouchers from guides from a travel agency, because the discount is not significant for local people and it is not a fact that a person will speak Russian well. The tour operator does not form large groups, due to this, the tour is comfortable. I definitely recommend Centara, thanks to the choice of this particular hotel, our vacation left the most positive and delightful memories. Sri Lanka is a colorful and very beautiful island (ocean, flora, fauna, friendly, friendly people).

We had a rest in February 2024. We were very satisfied with everything, the hotel, the ocean and nature.. And local residents) the country is friendly, smiling, friendly locals. The ocean with waves is just super! The water is clean, the beach is huge, the sand is fine as flour. The food at the hotel is good, there are dishes a little spicy, but you can eat. Fruits, drinks, ice cream, meat to choose from... Live music in the evening. The room cleaning is good, and the dust and order and floors will be washed. Soap products are used every day. There are a lot of different beautiful birds and animals. We went on a guided tour with Manu. We found his contacts in the Sri Lanka group. The guide is just great. We didn't regret it at all - everything is thought out to the smallest detail!! It is much better to ride with him than with a hotel guide (there were not satisfied vacationers with him).

We rested at the Centara Sri Lanka Hotel from April 10 to April 20, 2024. I liked the hotel , the cleaning was of high quality,there were breakfasts and dinners, the choice was good, everything was delicious, every morning there was treatment from various insects, the staff was friendly, I liked the country, but the weather in April did not give me the opportunity to swim, it was raining, the ocean was boiling, we went on an excursion with a local guide Chat, we really liked everything, Chat speaks English Russian, everything was organized perfectly, clearly, calmly, informatively, well done to the chat, responds to all requests, tries to fulfill all requests of tourists, you can ask him to bring fruits and take them to the store, a very pleasant young man. When we were on a tour of the river with him, he took us to the Ayurveda center, we had a massage, we really liked it, I had 6 massage sessions with Dr. Sunday, I recommend it is very well done. And I also can't help but mention the jewelry store, when he brought us there, the attitude towards customers is respectful and not annoying, they make gifts and discounts good.

Very nice hotel! The tour included breakfasts, delicious and varied food. Clean, organized, the staff is friendly, polite, speak English and even a little Russian! Separately, I would like to mention our Russian-speaking guide, who works at the exit of the hotel on the beach, asks you to call him Roman! A great guy to trust! A kind, cheerful, smiling guy, speaks Russian well, tells a lot of interesting things on excursions and in general about the country, takes cheap tuk-tuks for groceries, fruits and water. Excursions with him were as comfortable and interesting as possible, at a cost cheaper than that of a tour guide from a travel agency! I recommend it to everyone, contact Roman!

The hotel has a very unusual location - on a narrow strip of land between the ocean and a calm wide river. It's a beautiful sandy beach, but there are almost always waves in the ocean. The rooms are large and well cleaned. We had a room on the second floor overlooking the river, quite quiet. The hotel has a good and varied buffet, delicious cocktails at the bar. There is not much animation, but there is an extensive excursion program offered by local guides, their stand is located right outside the hotel gate on the way to the ocean. Chatu was our guide, he speaks Russian fluently and is a good storyteller. Tourists are transported in comfortable minibuses or cars, despite the early departures, the road does not bother. There is incredible nature on the island, there is something to see, I boldly recommend it.

There are only positive emotions from rest! The hotel is very nice and cozy, the location of the topchik hotel, the beach is gorgeous, I especially appreciated it after visiting the beach in Hikaduwa. Surprisingly, the staff was very quick to respond to requests. And I am very glad that we chose the deluxe ocean view. The room was dry (3rd floor) The rooms overlooking the pool smelled damp (1st floor)
I can also recommend a chat guide (knows Russian) the guys are standing on the right, at the exit from the hotel to the beach. We went with him to the Gala, to the turtles, swam on the river. And even so, it was always possible to turn to him for small things

A wonderful place, the hotel is excellent, clean, the staff is very friendly, kind, smiling, the breakfasts are very tasty, especially the pastries! The pool on site is always clean, there is a pool bar with a variety of drinks. The food in the restaurant is very tasty!
The ocean is love at first sight, the waves are cool, they give a good massage to the body, the sand is clean. The nature is very beautiful!!!
And I also want to write separately about our guide Rohana (Roman), who met us near the ocean on the first day and was with us throughout the rest. He speaks Russian very well!!! Smiling, kind, helps in everything! He took us on three excursions, he told us everything very interestingly! He took us shopping in the city, gave us dinner by the ocean! The child's knee hurt, I wrote to him and he immediately went to the pharmacy and brought what he needed! I advise everyone to get to know him, you will not regret it!

But there is a "but": in the pool restaurant, the staff always tries to cheat and heat up an extra 1-2 thousand rupees. The hotel is very good for the Sri Lankan level. Of course, there are much cooler ones, but this is for the celestials. The service is at a high level. The staff is extremely friendly. The Centara Ceysands Resort & SPA has an interesting and very good location on the spit between the river and the ocean. From the reception by the road, a boat is brought to the hotel (they run around the clock and regularly). Welcome lotuses and chipmunks were waiting for us at the reception. They settled very quickly on the 1st floor with a view of the river and, at our request, promised to move higher the next day. He showed us the hotel, helped with accommodation, relocation, and then escorted us to Anil, thank you very much!
The hotel is multinational in terms of the composition of tourists (mainly Russians, Indians and Europeans).
The hotel does not have a very large, but very nice, green and well-maintained territory.
There are enough sun beds by the pool, we came later than everyone else, but we always found 2 places nearby. In the morning, we did some kind of water aerobics. There are 2 bars by the pool: under a canopy and in the water.
The ocean and the beach are incomparable, the sunsets are gorgeous, there are very few people around, the sand is fine and soft - it's a pleasure to swim and walk along the beach. We walked towards the confluence of the river and the ocean (there is a Buddhist temple and a meditation center on the rocks), then towards Bentota railway station (there are more hotels, cafes, shops and, accordingly, people).
All excursions were taken on the beach by Chatu (Chathu), he studied in Belarus and speaks excellent Russian. We went with him by boat along the river to watch monitor lizards, crocodiles and feed monkeys, on the way he talked about the surroundings and the current situation on the island. It was interesting🤓 Then we went with the group to Ella (waterfall + tea plantations + train ride + arch bridge + small Adam peak). I also really liked the private tour towards Galle: we visited a place where there was a devastating tsunami; we stopped at a deposit of semi-precious stones (moonstone and others); saw the production of cinnamon oil; swam with huge turtles; walked around the fortress and the pretty city of Galle + asked to take us to Unawatuna beach + for tea and spices. Chatu also took us around the area on a tuk-tuk.
The hotel has a lot of water activities on the river (scooters, bananas, canoes), on the beach you can learn surfing, paragliding with a motor, buy coconuts and fruits.
If the Internet at the hotel stops working (about a week after arrival), then you need to contact the reception for a new password. If you plan to sit by the river in the evenings, then you should definitely take a cream or mosquito spray.
The food at the hotel is varied and delicious, there is plenty to choose from. Chipmunks and monitor lizards came to us for breakfast, and a fox flew in for dinner one day😝
The rooms were cleaned well and every day, the beds were decorated with flowers🌺
In the evenings there was live music or discos.

One of the best hotels in Sri Lanka. Everything is clean and organized enough. The centara network holds the brand. On one side there is a picturesque river, on the other-the sea. And, of course, the best beach for swimming (there were different ones). Fine light sand and as much as possible without waves, a pleasant entrance to the sea. I definitely recommend it with children. There are a lot of Russian-speaking beach fights outside the fence. They organize any trips without any problems.

We rested at the hotel from 11/30/23 to 12/10/23. According to the ALL system.We were satisfied with the rest.The food is varied.The choice of alcohol is large.There is a children's table, ice cream, fruits.
Unforgettable and vivid impressions were left from visiting the excursions.Ravana Ella Waterfall,9-arch bridge,train ride, climbing the Small Adam Peak,tea plantation.Jeep safari.Feeding and bathing with turtles in Hikkaduwa.There were many more interesting suggestions for excursions, it's a pity there wasn't enough time.We purchased all these excursions and much cheaper not from the hotel guide Shashiki, but at the exit from the hotel to the beach on the left side of Marley.The quality of services was excellent: check-out was strictly at the appointed time, a comfortable minibus (Toyota)

It is close to the city center. The beach is wide. The entrance to the ocean is gentle. There are always waves. But we swam every day. Towels cannot be taken from the hotel to the beach. Yesterday we returned from an unforgettable vacation in Sri Lanka at the Centara Hotel.
Our room was located on the ground floor with access to the river and an incredibly beautiful view. The chipmunks lived next door to us.
The staff is very pleasant and friendly at the hotel, ready to quickly resolve all issues.
The rooms are a little tired, but it didn't bother. The room has a kettle, tea, coffee and 2 bottles of water replenished daily.
We rested on the HB breakfast and dinner system. There are a lot of fruits, porridges, meat, fish for breakfast. Seafood was occasionally served for dinner. The cuisine is presented both European and Lankan. There is more than enough for food.
An incredibly beautiful ocean and an endless deserted beach.
We swam in the ocean in the morning, then in the pool, then again in the ocean. The ocean is a bit rough, but we enjoyed the waves like children)
But the most vivid impression was left by the excursions around the island and the guys who organized them for us.
At the exit from the hotel to the beach, we met a Chat) a cute, smiling guy with dreadlocks gathered in a bun). Chatu speaks Russian perfectly. We went on an excursion to Ella with him, fed the monkeys, rode the train, climbed Adam's Peak. Chatu took us to a Buddhist monastery on a tuk tuk and gave us a very informative tour, and then we fed the elephant. We went on an individual excursion to the Gala, fed the turtles, rode on the river and talked a lot.
Our impressions of the island are indescribable. Beautiful ocean, friendly people, endless, deserted beaches. Will we come back again? Uniquely

I really liked the hotel. Perfect for a family holiday. Beautiful and large territory, rich nature. The dining room has a wide selection of food for both adults and children. The hotel is 4*, but the quality of service is very good. The rooms are not the freshest, but everything works fine. The design is very beautiful. I will mention the staff separately: very friendly, diligent. They will always tell you the way, take out bread to feed the fish... The territory is green, near the restaurant and lobi there are ponds with plants and fish and fish.
On one side of the hotel is the river, on the other the ocean is the hotel on the peninsula. If you come from the city, then you go by boat to the reception.
It is better to take excursions from the locals, as well as if you need a massage, go to them too. At the exit to the ocean, I talked with Darish, there is also Sasha. We went to the Ayurveda center for a massage, first a doctor's appointment, then a massage.
Swimming in the ocean will not work. Waves or waves with jellyfish, alas. You can swim in Hikkaduwa.

We rested in February 2023 on an all-inclusive basis.
The hotel is located on a spit between the river and the ocean. A boat runs to the hotel around the clock for free. Thanks to this location, there is silence and relaxation on the coast.
I really liked the hotel. We love them. Small, beautiful, cozy and clean. I would like to thank all the staff for a wonderful stay. All great fellows! While resting, we felt that we were welcome. Everyone is very friendly and friendly. I was surprised how many employees learn Russian.
We liked the food. New tastes and impressions. Alcohol is of high quality. Ice cream, fruits, desserts!!!
The ocean is powerful and warm. We've always had waves. The sand is soft. The coastline is large and clean. We met the dawn every morning, walked along the ocean shore. An unforgettable experience!

I was in this hotel in January, it's not forgotten, I really liked it, the staff is responsive, always smiling, my room was on the ground floor overlooking the river, the beauty, the room itself is quite large, there is everything for living, tea, coffee, two bottles of water, replenished every day, two huge, snow-white linen, men do their cleaning, they do it pretty well, the hotel itself is large, clean and very green, there are a lot of animals on the territory, chipmunks, monitor lizards, jaguars, peacocks and all wild, I only had breakfast, but I had enough, buffet, food for every taste, fruits are varied,, there is a children's menu, there is a huge swimming pool on the territory, and the ocean is immediately behind the fence🌊🌊🌊, if the winner in Sri Lanka, you can safely choose Century in Bentota!!!

I liked the fact that the hotel delivers to another part of the territory by boat along the river.

Whether I will return here and recommend this hotel to my friends is definitely a big and confident "YES".
We arrived in Sri Lanka for the first time and immediately upon landing realized that we had made the right choice for a vacation. Again, this is not for those who like to relax among the skyscrapers of Dubai) This is a gorgeous mega green island. There is a separate point about people - everyone is very friendly, smiling and it's not because of money and tips. Many of them did not even take a tip, but they will never pass by without smiling. So are the locals.
It is also tedious to write a lot about the hotel, but I will describe the most important points:
Cleanliness - they sweep, wash, scrub, clean, etc. constantly. That the territory, that the room is always in perfect condition.
Food - we took all-inclusive - we never regretted it. The food for 13 days at lunches and dinners was practically not repeated. They scared me with spicy food. Spicy dishes marked with "pepper" stand alone, so whether to eat them or not is your choice. There were seafood every day: crabs, shrimps, squid. There are few fruits, but there are always fresh ones. The chefs cook very tasty, unlike in Egypt, everything is prepared with spices and from the heart. The chefs have a separate bow.
Alcohol is local, high-quality. Lion beer is delicious. They do not dilute it. A separate nuance in favor of the hotel is that the beer mugs at the bar are stored in the freezer, so they will always pour you cold beer. Strong alcohol is also of good quality. Cocktails are made from the heart))) Three or four cocktails and you can go to bed))))
Staff - here I want to highlight the bartenders separately. They try very hard to please every guest. And without asking for any tips. I specially wrote down their names before leaving. Dushan, Chatara, Sandeepa, Sandun - special greetings to the guys))) Guys, I'm sorry if I made a mistake in spelling the name)
The rest of the staff is no less friendly and friendly. I bow low to all the guys and girls for their work, for their patience and love of their duties.
The beach is sandy, there is not a single pebble anywhere. You can safely take off your shoes and run into the arms of the ocean waves. The beach is also always clean.
The hotel's feature is the location between the river and the ocean. To get to the "mainland" you need to swim across the river. The boat transports guests from shore to shore around the clock. Checked)

I really liked both the hotel and the beach! The rooms, the grounds are clean and well maintained, the staff is smiling and pleasant. A restaurant with a large selection of dishes for breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Find entertainment yourself! The hotel is located on a peninsula. A quiet and peaceful hotel.
Without active animation, not big. It is located on a spit, so you can either get by boat across the river or walk around (30 minutes).
The staff is friendly and smiling, but likes tips. The food is very spicy even for lovers, but there is always unleavened rice or potatoes.
Room service is normal, if you leave 50-100 rupees (15-30₽) each, they make figures out of towels.
There is a small town with shops near the hotel. The rooms are old, but they are maintained in good condition.

The only drawback found is the poor operation of the magnetic cards that open the locks in the rooms. I had to go to the reception regularly, sometimes only after opening the doors 2-3 times, to magnetize them, although magnetic cards were specially kept separate from smartphones and other possible sources of magnetic fields. The Centara Ceysands Resort and Spa is located in a special place - on the one hand the coastal strip of the ocean, on the other - the tropical Bentota River with wild animals and birds. Tourists feel like they are on an island. Either the sound of the ocean or the chirping of exotic birds can be heard from the windows of the rooms.
In addition to the excellent location of the hotel - on the first coastline, 150 m from the ocean, I would like to surround a well-groomed protected area, a cozy restaurant with seating on the banks of a tropical river, an excellent evening cafe-bar with live music, cozy spacious rooms with a sophisticated design. The administration and staff were kind and organized comfortable accommodation, good food, safe bathing and rest.
I recommend this hotel to everyone and I will come back here myself.

We rested in Sentara in Sri Lanka (part of the photo does not correspond to reality). The hotel as a whole is not bad, but it does not pull for 5 minutes. We lived on the first floor and it's terrible! The room is damp and humid, if you open the window to the terrace, then the walls do not just become wet, but just streams flow! Even water drips from the ceiling. The accounting system is simply ancient and barely works! They asked for an air dryer, refused (not available) in the air conditioner, this function is also missing. I categorically do not recommend it with children, maybe the situation is better on the higher floors, but definitely not on the ground floor. There is fungus on the walls in the bathroom, and the funniest thing is that the floor is painted with black paint, which then sticks to the sole. The staff is very cool, they solve everything in their power to fix, to do - promptly.
