The building and the international airport itself are very beautiful, bright, and a large space for meeting and seeing off people. After the reconstruction, the airport has been transformed for the better.
But the work of the staff leaves much to be desired. The departure and arrival halls are not particularly clean, the cleaners clean only in the center or even pretend to clean everything, they wash the toilet and halls with one rag.....
At passport control everything goes very slowly, because of this a terrible queue of people gathers, workers work very slowly they are distracted by extraneous factors, it feels like they were taken off the street and put at computers for the first time. The work of airport employees is terrible, such work does not pull at the international level at all.

Samarkand Airport is the perfect place for a pleasant start or end to your trip. I was pleasantly surprised how clean and modern it is. The staff was very friendly and welcoming, which created an even more pleasant impression. The customs clearance procedure took a minimum of time, everything was processed quickly and without unnecessary hassle.
I would especially like to mention the recommendation to call a taxi via Yandex. It's fast, convenient, and cheaper than other transportation methods. The taxi arrived on time and took me to my destination without any problems. Taxi prices in the city range from 5,000 to 23,000 soums. 1 dollar - 12,500 soums. I recommend changing money at street money changers and at their markets. The rate of 100 dollars is 1250000 soums.
Overall, Samarkand Airport left me with an exceptionally positive impression, and I will be happy to return to it on my next trips. I recommend it to all travelers!

The airport is cool - huge, fresh, clean, modern. But the business hall is mediocre - there is a smoking room, but there is no alcohol, and the choice of food is so-so.

Well, the problem with going to the airport with lighters (and even matches) is only in checked luggage, so a cigarette lighter is attached to the wall in the smoking room))

Cool new airport! Convenient access by car. The interior is clean and spacious. Minus 2 stars for the representative of Aeroflot at Samarkand airport, Camilla. We were flying with small children, it all started at the check-in desk. There was an excess of 600 grams of luggage!! We were told to open the luggage and get something out. For 600 grams of excess weight) Next, the hand luggage was weighed and asked to insert the suitcase into the calibrator. The suitcase got in there, but with a little effort. The wheels were in the way, everything was perfect in size without them. We flew with this suitcase from Sheremetyevo, they didn't even weigh it there. And we have flown many times, there have never been any problems. As a result, they told us to buy an additional one. The luggage was checked in there by this suitcase. I said that I would unscrew the wheels now and everything would fit perfectly. An Aeroflot representative tore up our boarding passes and said go unscrew the wheels. And I went to look for a screwdriver while my wife and children were standing there waiting for me. As a result, I returned with the wheels unscrewed, the suitcase fit freely into the calibrator. That's the kind of people who work there.
I recommend that Aeroflot carry out an inspection. There is no loyalty to passengers because of such a small thing. Especially with small children.
