A great place to relax at any time of the year. The extraordinary nature - the views from the cable car are breathtaking. The prices for both service and food are quite adequate.
Chembulak is a ski resort. The views of the mountains are impressive. I liked everything very much, it's beautiful, the air is fresh. People are friendly. It's a pity that there was a rockfall and some sections of the road are being repaired. But you can't argue with nature.
It's a great place to visit, even if you're not a fan of skiing and snowboarding.
Is it your first time in Almaty? You are definitely here!!!
Even in summer, but during the skiing season, the atmosphere of the ski resort relieves any stress and worries.
A wonderful ski complex combined "price-quality". Cozy rooms, courteous staff, ready to solve any of your problems. I would especially like to mention the restaurant staff (on the second floor of the main building)! Delicious, homemade! Waiters fly like a bullet, which is not found everywhere. Delicious, hearty breakfasts!
There are problems with the sauna (women's time, men's time..): a small steam room, with a large flow of guests, it is not always comfortable to wait "in line".. The rental works great, the ski storage room is at the highest level.
Yesterday we visited Shymkent, there are no words for a very beautiful place, but there is one thing, at the terminal station where 3200m the employee was very rude. The conflict occurred due to the fact that foreigners came out and filmed and photographed against the background of the mountains, they decided to sing a song for the video, this apparently offended the employee, he came out and was not just rude, but also yelled at me and the guests, shouted that you can not stand here, although there is a warning sign that on it is impossible to stand on the territory, the guests decided to take pictures there because before that people also passed and took photos and videos and everything was fine. At the request of the employee not to be rude and not to shout and be more polite, this employee immediately switched to YOU, although I asked to talk in a respectful manner since I initially addressed only YOU, he replied to this request with the words "say thank you that I'm talking to you at all", then he threatened me that he would take pictures of us and he will make sure that we will never be allowed into the territory of Shymkent again, which I was surprised at, because there was no aggression and no respect on our part. For no reason, shouting and being rude and imagining himself to be such a great man was very unattractive and disrespectful. The staff who work below this point are very polite and immediately explained what and how, mostly there were only women, I'm talking about those places where you get on the cable car.
Also, the employee at the endpoint was wearing airpods headphones all the time during our stay.
There are a lot of people at the resort, 2 queues accumulate on 1 lift, the cable car cannot cope with the flow. The culture of skiing or snowboarding in Kazakhstan is deplorable. Sometimes people who don't know how to ride pile up on top and just sit blocking the track. And so, in principle, everything is well done. Very good cafes and restaurants, places to relax.
A lot has already been written about the advantages.
I will note the disadvantages:
If you intend to rent equipment, then prepare in advance a considerable amount for a deposit – 50,000 tenge per set!
They don't have any information about this on their website!
It is better to rent equipment (it will turn out faster) at the lowest point of the lift – the Medeo skating rink.
If there is little snow on the slope, then not all trails may work, while the ticket office takes the full cost of the ski pass!
They have their own special skipasses that you need to buy at their cash register.
For example, the Kyrgyz Karakol and Chunkurchak skipasses in Shimbulak do not work and are not magnetized!
There is no information on the site about the completeness of the slope and open trails!
The ski pass is valid until 18:00, and the equipment must be rented before 17:30 – i.e. it takes at least half an hour of riding.
And the upper lift on the top turns off at 16:00 - that is, it is minus 2 whole hours of skiing
On their official website. There is no map of their trails on the site!
The slopes are not marked or marked in any way (there is no navigation and signs indicating the level of difficulty of the route).
In general, the informativeness of their offers. the site is extremely insufficient!!
I have been going to Romantik since the opening in 2014. The resort is not bad, but the service has become very expensive, especially it is expensive to teach children. Prices are already almost like in Krasnaya Polyana, there are extremely many people, this year the rotovirus is raging, and we were not spared(
I'm not a skier myself. But the place is impressive. 3300 is the top platform, and there are five thousand peaks around you. It's an awesome sight!
Very interesting restaurants at intermediate stations. I didn't want to leave!
I've been riding for many years. I didn't have enough snow. The tracks are well prepared, the lifts themselves are comfortable and modern, but the rollouts on them are difficult, starting from an icy hillock is very inconvenient. But at the top box office, I was faced with direct extortion of money. I was charged with a broken edge, taking advantage of the fact that I did not take a picture of the skis before the rental. An unpleasant story spoils the impression of the work of the entire resort. And I realized that this method is put on stream So that skiers, be vigilant!
A good ski resort on the level of Krasnaya Polyana. The height at the top is 3200m. The trails are not as picturesque as in Sochi, there is much less vegetation, but they are long, mostly red, and there are also blue ones. You can get from the city by bus 12 in 20 minutes to the famous Medeo skating rink (where you can skate) and a cable car up to the ski slope. Prices are much lower than in Sochi. Cafes, rental and coaches are available, everything is at a good level. There are lifts from the towpaths on the beginner track, armchairs on the blue tracks and cabins on the main red tracks, all without heating. When the sun sets or goes behind the mountains, the temperature drops sharply immediately, it gets cold, dress properly.
Extortionate and unjustified price increase, 85% of Kazakhstanis ride, it was necessary to make preferential tariffs, it is more expensive for foreigners, to make a different tariff for young people and students
Terrible service!
Terrible!
There are a lot of people, they made a mess with booths and a cable car.
The resort is not designed for such a flow of people.
Prices have been raised to the skies, but first you provide conditions for people to set such prices.
What do you charge money for? For crowded cable cars, dirty toilets and pandemonium?
Only mountains can be better than mountains! Alma-Ata, the Cimbulak ski complex, the Trans-Ili Alatau and, of course, climb to the peak of Cimbulachka - all this is a wonderful pastime with amazing views, clean air and hospitable locals! It is very beautiful and fascinating!
I was there in the summer, but there is something to see there at this time. Excellent lift. Three stations. Nature is changing before our eyes! At the first station, you can change the closed cradle to an open one, which we did. Complete delight! I strongly advise you to visit. From the tips, take warm clothes and an umbrella with you, even if it's summer)
A great ski resort. You can go for a walk in summer and in winter skiing or snowboarding. 3 training slides. The view is very beautiful, the skiing is excellent. Of the disadvantages, there are a lot of people at the reception
A cool popular place! The beauty is indescribable. The prices for the lift are affordable. Everything is equipped and clean everywhere. Sometimes there are long queues for the lift, but they move quickly. The prices in the cafe are very expensive
Great ski trip :) unobtrusive service, few mountains, but good coverage, cool hotel at its peak! We lived in it, a delicious restaurant, don't take a lot of tinctures ;)
The ski complex is impressive. Magnificent views, clean air, well-established infrastructure. Various cafes, restaurants, there is a medical center, funiculars. Good ski trails. A great place for sports and recreation.
I was 13 years old and I got lost in the fog on the mountain. My parents, having moved down, naturally got worried and asked the rescuers to find me, to which they were told: "how old is your kid? 13? No, if your child is over 10 years old, then we will not look for him."
Thank you.
One of the most picturesque cable cars I've ridden, and I've been on many. Comfortable modern cabins, beautiful views. The coolest moment is when you drive over the dam and amazing landscapes open up. With transfers, you can get to the upper station at an altitude of 3200, it is also very beautiful there. There are many cafes at the stops where you can get yourself warming drinks, especially in winter. It is always very crowded on the cable car, this should be taken into account, especially if you are traveling in the middle of the day - the upper stations close earlier than the others, and it is important to have time to go back down, otherwise you will walk down the slope.
A great place to ski right next to the city. Trails of different levels, there is a rental service, although it is cheaper in the city, there is a service, luggage storage. There are a lot of restaurants that regularly hold activities. In the evening, after 17 o'clock, there may be a huge queue for the descent to the lift, otherwise everything is fine. Both for tourists and for those who ski or board. In clear weather, a panoramic view of Almaty opens from the upper points. I recommend.
Good trails, great snow was at the end of November.
Downstairs, the playground is too crowded with people on a day off. The space is not adapted for so many people.
Designed coolly.
It's sooo sunny here.
There are both cool instructors and delicious food, and on several levels.
And what is one kind of night city worth)))
Come, it's fun here!
A fairly simple local resort. There is everything you need - mountains, snow, beauty, a cable car. But it's pretty crowded in the season. There are not as many places to accommodate as we would like.
We are guests from Russia. I really liked the service of the shift on 02/27.24, and the boys at the box office and at the box office Elvira - they meet with hospitality, cordially serve! Not only mountains create an atmosphere, but also people
Charming views. The height is 3200. The cost of lifting is 1000 rubles. At an altitude of 2300 meters there is a cafe with delicious mulled wine. At an altitude of 3200 there are excellent ski slopes, you can also see a real glacier!!!!!
The best ski resort we've been to. The slopes are steeper than many European ones. And the prices are generally a fairy tale. And there is a place to eat delicious inexpensive food
If you came to Alma-Ata as a tourist, be sure to devote half a day to this place! You reach the final stop of Medeo by bus 12. It is better to catch him at the beginning of the route in the city, because when you get hooked on Dostyk (Lenin), you will have to get into a full bus.
Be sure to climb the health ladder to the dam! Then make your way back from the top of the dam to boarding the funiculars, this way will take several times less time than the way to the peaks, take a ticket to the 3rd level of Shymkent and enjoy the view of the Trans-Ili Ala-Tau while you climb to the first platform. This level is the most "pop" and not interesting, unless you came to hang out. Continue on your way to the second platform: you can choose both a closed cabin and an open version of the funicular - it is slightly to the side. Or climb first in the closed version, and on the way back - in the open version of the lift. The second level is already much quieter and quieter! 2,800 above sea level. View of the mountains and smog - polluted Almaty . The third level is the coolest! It's already 3000 meters away and has a beautiful view of the surrounding area! Climb higher on foot to the top of the mountain nearby and admire the view! It is better to carry out the ascent not in a straight line from the foot to the top, but diagonally under 45 to facilitate
There are a lot of rocks on the slopes. Skiing is normally killed like this during the season. The terrain has changed a lot in 20 years, it used to be more pleasant to drive.
There are good days when there are not so many crazy beginners on the slope running a snowboard freeride down the slope. The tracks are not bad, but highly dependent on the amount of snow: they often roll out to sand.
What could be better?!
Mountains I haven 't been to yet .
To get to Almaty, take a car or a bus or a taxi, then drive to Medeu and already transfer to the cable car and climb the mountains. And at the second station there are hotels and restaurants and at the very top already , Shimbulak , you can eat , ride in winter , and admire the beautiful mountain scenery in summer .
A very cool place is special for those who love nature and like to travel , the view is great , the view is normal , nature and the lifts are also good , well, everything is cool , I advise everyone!
Oh.... Great place, great resort :)
I recommend it for a visit.
A magnificent cable car with beautiful views, cozy cafes with delicious food are waiting at the top.
The place is wonderful, beautiful!!!
Last time I was there in 2002. A lot has changed.
We had a nice time in the cafe!
We took a walk in nature. The air is wonderful!
The cable car is steep. The trouble is only with buses, because they are packed and it's on a working day!
Affordable, not bad! For pampered skiers, the trails are short (The main thing I didn't like was the small rental department (the size range ends quickly). A solid four! Perfect for beginners and kids!
Very beautiful view, you can visit restaurants, take a ride on the cable car. For lovers of skiing there are hotels and hostels. And of course, excellent ski trails.
Super high mountain, very difficult tracks for me, but everything is great and cool and beautiful. I'll go again.. But I'll take a coach and an instructor
In general, a good resort for the 10th of April. Dense snow, not difficult and wide trails. There are only a few of them, there is a small park. Skipass in the area of 1200₽
It's a very beautiful place. Be sure to climb to the very top. Funiculars are modern, beautiful views of valleys and mountains from the window. There are restaurants and cafes at each transshipment point.
Excellent views and panoramas of the mountains. It's just a fairy tale, everyone who comes to Almaty for the first time must have a room. The prices are adequate for such beauty. The service is on the level, everything is modern and high-quality. I recommend it to everyone. It is better to arrive on weekdays in the morning. The cable car is open until 20:00
Fresh clean cool air is pleasant to breathe, the mood rises often you need to come here just to breathe, you can sunbathe in the sun here it is bright, the sky is clear.
A great place to ride with a company, there is a place to relax, have a snack and drink tea between descents. There aren't many people, but we rode on weekdays, I can't judge about weekends. Among the disadvantages, slow lifts, I would like to go faster (25-30 minutes to the top from 2 stations) and partially encountered ice coating on the slopes, which creates difficulties for beginners. But this, judging by February 2023, the period of snowfall did not please.
A great place in terms of infrastructure, beautiful mountains. Something has to be thought about about the cut, because our company had a person without equipment, stood in line for 2 hours. Pleasant and varied cafes. A very convenient and fast lift. The left slope did not work during our period and I had few trails for skiing, but for those who like off-piste skiing, this is paradise.
The most beautiful place is forever in my heart! There are yaks, there are horses, skiing in winter, hiking in summer, emerald meadows and snow caps! That's great!
The resort itself is good, but the administration squeezes out everything they can with New Year's prices, today 01.01.2024 everyone who came to ride at the noon fare found out at the checkout that they sell only for "the whole day" because tickets for 12.30 -17 - "ended" and a ticket for half a day of skiing from 13 to 17 hours cost 14200 tenge... and the whole queue who arrived at 12 was forced to buy an all-day ticket or go back to the city... there was a lot of outrage in the queues, the administration ruined its reputation... conclusion - on New Year's Eve you need to go to Akbulak or to a forest fairy tale, and to cimbulak after the holidays... by the way, the tracks were half-empty - on January 1, it is clear, but there were a lot of tourists who just went up and looked, so the queues were huge, because the tracks were half-empty. I can conclude that the administration considered that they would not make a New Year's ticket office for the sale of half-day passes today and canceled them... by raising prices on the hype and on the fact that people who have arrived have nowhere to go... There is no information on the website that tickets in some categories may "run out"...
