The ski trails are good, my son rides with pleasure! There are many cafes and restaurants to warm up and just eat with a beautiful view of the mountains! The queues at Cimbulac are large on holidays and weekends.
We rode the cable car. The cost cost 16 thousand tenge for 3 adults. There was a child 3 years old for free. Weekday. There weren't very many people. Some got into the trailers without waiting in line. We reached the top. It's much colder there. The mountains are magnificent!!! Beautiful day!
I skated there in January and was ONLY at evening classes. So evening skiing takes place every Tue, Thu, Sat from 19 to 23. The price is 10,500 tenge with a skipass, 8,500 tenge if you already have a skipass. As the locals said on Tuesday, students have discounts, so there are relatively more people on Tuesday than on Thursday. I didn't ride on Saturday, but we can assume that the locals also said that there were a lot of people on the weekend. On Tuesdays and Thursdays, one track was available in the evening, which you can either drive all at once by climbing to the very top or drive half of it by going out in the middle. The track is NOT for beginners, but there are a lot of them there since only one track was available in the evening. For beginners, there are all conditions to get to the very top, since on one cable of the lift there are 8-seater cabins and 4-seater open seats (benches) without protective caps (to protect against wind and snow). The number of cabins is less. I used to rent equipment in the city, took only a board price of 2000 tenge, but I am not very satisfied with the quality. There is also a rental of equipment on the Shymkent itself and different price categories are indicated on the website depending on its condition.
Everything is cool! Beautiful, fun, pleasant. We will definitely come back. We were a big company several times.
I wrote a more detailed review on the same Chim, only apparently there is a double place on Yandex maps. But I don't mind writing a good review for a good place :)
A very beautiful place, delicious food, great skiing, a snowboard park this year is just a delight!

It's worth flying to Kazakhstan for this place!
You arrive at Almaty airport, from there you can take a taxi to Cimbulak in about 2 hours. It's good to relax here all year round! In winter and spring, skiing, sitting in restaurants and cafes
In summer, go up on cable cars to the peaks, go down on foot. Walking in the mountains.
You can stay in hotels built in the style of Alpine chalets. Only electric cars drive here, so as not to disrupt the ecology of the place. The mountains here are very similar to the Alps in proportions and landscaping.
A very popular place. Such beautiful views are opening up! It's just fantastic! But it's scary! I'm too afraid of heights! Therefore, fear was mixed with delight.
The most beautiful place. There are cozy cafes and the opportunity to admire the views on any of the climbing levels. For those who do not ride, it is not boring and interesting to just relax and enjoy the views and air of the mountains.
We went to the top without skis, just to see the views.
On a weekday in January 2023, there are quite a lot of people after lunch, the queue for the lifts is 10 minutes.
There are real-time video cameras on the Shymkent website, I recommend watching the weather on the spot in advance. Fog is possible instead of gorgeous views of the mountains and the city.
The upper station is located at an altitude of 3,200 meters, from there there is a magnificent view of the Bogdanovich glacier, it is very close.
I recommend walking from the upper station to Mount Chembulachka, it will take 1.5 hours in one direction with a climb of 300 meters.
I recommend it for guests of the city in clear weather.
Medeo is very beautiful, there are many changes from last year, the lifts are clean, cafes with good valuables, the queue is small, there is a lot of snow, nature is the most beautiful

Who doesn't know, it's next to the Mideo rink. The views are impressive. There are many restaurants on the highway, and there is a rental of equipment. Trails for every taste and experience. You can just go without skis, take the funicular and have lunch. I advise you!
In fact, there is only one descent. The tracks are not particularly maintained. A lot of stones. But the biggest disadvantage is the lack of work with beginners: they constantly sit across the slope risking both their health and those descending. No matter how many times I asked these "sitters", they all replied that no one had taught them that it was impossible to sit in the middle of the slope. I hardly give three stars, but I have something to compare it with.
Great place, great atmosphere) there are not enough delicious places, but what is already there gets boring quickly) but the place itself is very cool)
Before they put a barrier on the top platform and made the entrance 5000 for the car, everything was great. Also, the road was closed, only the cable car can be climbed, and it's cold in them.
I recommend it, you can have a good ride and have a good time. The only thing is better to come with your own inventory

Come in the morning, buy a ski pass through the app.
There are many cafes. There is a great children's room. Instructors and rentals.
You can spend the whole day and have lunch during rush hour.
Evening skiing on Tuesdays, Thursdays and Saturdays
To all those who come to Almaty for the first time, I recommend visiting Medeu first and taking the cable car to Cimbulak! The most beautiful mountains, the views are fascinating!
A good mountain resort. There are shops and photo zones, it's beautiful. Lifts are open and closed to choose from (on the second level). But there was a terrible queue for the third level, so they never went up. Hurtful
The tracks are cool - the wheelchair is good, the lifts on the tracks are gondola - you don't think about the wind. The views are beautiful.
But the service is bad. In particular, the rental: in front of my eyes, a young man was arguing with the rental staff that he was given a broken board. We started to hand over - they also showed us that we had ruined the board and had to pay a fine, although in fact we did not even fall on this board and did not crash into anything. I had to swear, another rental employee came up and said that this board was already like this! So they just tried to spin us up for a fine out of the blue. When you rent it, look at everything carefully. There is also no organization - some employees require some checks, and the employees who have to hand them out, for some reason do not give them out, you have to somehow go ask for them yourself. It's not a public service to be "chased" like that, people here pay money to relax.
Speaking of money... The prices here are generally not Kazakhstani. For that kind of money, you can relax somewhere in Europe, people here don't earn that much. Everything is expensive except the ski pass.
A great place to relax. The staff is quite adequate. There is a long queue for the funicular on weekends and holidays. It is better to prepare for the descent and ascent in advance. Clean and decent, the merit of the management, which raises the service every season.
The place where I was, and where I want to come back again and again...at any time of the year, in any weather...here you are close to the sky, and it is around you....
This place will plunge you into such a range of emotions and give you the feeling that you have fallen into a fairy tale. Crystal clear air and amazing beauty of the area
Rocks on the slope, bald spots on the descent at the middle station, rolled up a new board in two exits.
There are a lot of riders who don't know how to ride and just sit on the slope in dangerous places where they can be overlooked.
Traveling on the Meadow-Shimbulak cable car at any time of the year is something! 10 minutes for tickets and fantastic views of mountains and nature are provided to you! It is better to take round-trip tickets, because walking down is also tedious!
Of course, nature is gorgeous. But the payment method is terrible, it would be possible to simplify the sale of tickets online or by kewar before boarding the funicular. It would be much faster and without a queue. Queues at the checkout
It's not bad, but it's time to update these old faniculars or add air conditioners to them. Further, there is no shelter at all on combi 1 and combi 2, especially on those days when it rains heavily and even with the wind. Even in summer it is very unpleasant to be there, because in addition there is also wind. And so it's better to take an umbrella and dress warmly.
It is expensive, not very organized and too pretentious. But this is native Shymkent and there is a place to turn around, favorite descents and ascents. And most importantly, all this is close to us ...you can always come and relax.
We came 5 years ago and had a great rest, now it's another Shymkent, huge queues, instructors on the stream, without positivity, lifts periodically do not work, the trails are poorly cleaned. People who have already got on skis or snowboards 90%, there is no ethics of skiing, they are knocked down, cling, grab, climb the mountain without knowing how to go😨 EVERYTHING requires renovation and reconstruction, I was pleased only with the weather and snow, and I gave them 2 balls
One of the most popular and tourist places in Almaty. You need to be in every season. Winter is skating, skiing. In autumn, everything is in yellow-red colors. In spring it is as green and fresh as possible.
I was lucky with the weather. The sun, not so many people, there were practically no queues, fresh snow fell just yesterday, the mountains are visible as far as the eye can see.
Great!
Very fascinating landscapes, there are no air conditioners in the cabins, it's hot and not comfortable that the windows are scratched, you can't take off the landscapes and look at the mountains.
We got caught in the rain, but the administration worked smoothly, everyone was quickly escorted to the landing. A big plus for them
The lifts are super, three levels, each with its own gorgeous view. On the first and second levels there are restaurants with outdoor areas. The mountains are amazing! :)
