It's beyond words. We have to attend the morning service there. Have you heard how the Georgians sing? Now imagine how it sounds in a temple... 11 out of 10.
As many days as the pass was closed, by the will of fate, the day was in Mtskheta. I've been to church twice, and the services are different from those in Orthodox churches. At the same time, the feeling of calm and peace did not leave me.
Do not spare money for the tour. It's worth it. Everything is fine in this temple. The frescoes have been preserved in fragments. The architecture of the building is fascinating, and makes you bow down to the ancient masters who created such a masterpiece.
A very beautiful and large Cathedral in the heart of Mtskheta. With a long history. The large-scale area around is fenced with fortress walls. You need to see it with your own eyes.
The main cathedral of Mtskheta, well-groomed territory, inside the tomb of the Bagrationi family, the relics of St. Andrew the First-Called. We can go.
It's a very touching, soulful place. A great place to study the history of Christianity in Georgia. The town is very picturesque, it is under UNESCO protection. It is somewhat reminiscent of the small towns of Montenegro. You can get from Tbilisi quickly and cheaply (by minibus from Didube metro station). You can also return by minibus. 3 GEL per person.
We were at this place today . There was a scandal , Russians and Belarusians were not allowed into the temple at the entrance . The monk did not let people in and set up face control. People shouted "Nazis, racists" and women and children were not allowed into the temple. The Georgians passed unhindered. The Georgians were scandalized that all the Orthodox Christians who came and it was not right to let them in .
It's kind of a shame.
Be careful. A man who looked like a priest approached the Temple, took a brush out of his pocket and anointed the family with oil from a nearby lamp, then asked them to write notes, after which he persistently demanded a donation. He reluctantly agreed when the part went not to him personally, but to the Temple. Reviews have previously written about similar cases.
The most important and probably the most famous temple in Georgia. There are many kings of Georgia from different periods of its rich and tragic history.
A very beautiful and interesting place. Recommendation to visit 100%
Wonderful temple , atmospheric streets around. If I'm still in those places, I will definitely come back₽
A very picturesque place! The temple and its territory are admired, we took a walk there with pleasure, I highly recommend this place to visit! We were in October, the weather was great!
A magnificent place with an amazing atmosphere of benevolence, the whole philosophy of the people on the walls. I was there on a holiday. So light and light. It is highly recommended to visit
What kind of cleanliness is there, it all depends on the guide, the tourist place, everything is beautiful, inexpensive, unobtrusive sellers, you need to be more careful in the temple, some minister has spread money right in the temple. It was not pleasant
A very unusual temple with a very rich history. There are many relics in the temple. Before visiting, I recommend reading the history of the temple. We visited the temple twice: without knowing the history and after studying the facts, it was impossible not to see and touch the shrines again
It is a very beautiful temple, but the area around the temple is even more intimate.
Beautiful well-maintained territory! Thanks to the gardener
There are tents behind the stone fence where you can buy souvenirs. Sellers will not only sell the product, but they will not let you go without tasting wine, cognac)))
Very soulful, historical and beautiful. Believers will appreciate the amazing energy, non-believers - the atmosphere of the history of the ancient capital.
A stunning place with an immersion in the history and sanctity of the temple itself. The feeling inside is indescribable. But the place is very touristic, so you can forget about privacy.
A very beautiful temple of the ancient capital of Georgia. There are many ancient icons. You can order a service, write notes. When you go there, it is better to visit Jvari Monastery of the Holy Cross first. And then go down to Svetitskhoveli.
A very, very fascinating place , we were in May 2024 , as they say , the soul sings here , I recommend

A very interesting place with a lot of relics. I recommend taking a guide, a wonderful eccentric woman in a hat, you will definitely not regret it. She is right there and offers the services of a guide. If you want to save money, you can wait until she finds someone else, if the group is larger, then she discounts the price.
A very beautiful, ancient place steeped in the history of Georgia.
There is one huge BUT!
There are a lot of beggars around who are running towards you. And there are "mafiosi" working in the temple itself. Do not write for the building or rest. They will ask for 40 GEL.
The top place. I recommend placing it with a guided tour

A great place is the must have when traveling to Mtskheta. I also really liked the market around - in addition to the typical China, there are a lot of handmade products at affordable prices.
The temple is ancient, admission is free, the place is historical, there is a lot of information about it on the web. The passage to the temple through the corridor of shopping malls with tourist goods, which was a little discouraging. We arrived in our car without a guide, and at first I thought that this was the entrance to the market, and there should be another way to the temple. The immediate proximity of the market and the temple does not detract from the historical greatness of the place, but, in my subjective opinion, it is inappropriate. Although this is not my business, but the business of the people living on this earth. Free Parking is available, cafes are available, the toilet is paid, it costs some pennies.
Cafes, markets, invitations to excursions - everything remains behind these walls. Even with a large flow of tourists, you can find a place on the territory - to sit, reflect on the world...
A temple with a huge history. Monumental, beautiful. Holy. I recommend a visit.

Very beautiful territory! The olives on the stem have sunk into my heart! It was quiet and cozy, there were very few people, then we went down to the river and sat on the shore on pontoons.
We stopped in Mtskheta for a couple of days to rest. Clean air, fruit. I liked Tbilisi much more, but it's also worth seeing the old capital of Georgia. I recommend.

We stayed in Mtskheta for one night. Of course, they couldn't help but visit this temple. The greatness of the ages. Everything breathes antiquity. They were able to build for centuries and with high quality.
It is interesting inside and out, ancient inscriptions on the facade are visible. Several entrances, very atmospheric. The guides tell a fascinating story)
