And what is not there, almost all the products that are produced in the republic can be found on the "green". Fruits and vegetables - practically from the garden, daily supplies of fresh dairy and meat products
A very sincere place, sellers are masters of marketing, they would be in the top sales team. They feed you little pieces, making you believe that you won them yourself. In every game, there is someone who leads the party and someone who breeds. The more it seems to the victim that she is playing a game, the less she controls it.
The formula is extremely deep in its simplicity and effectiveness.
Well, you can write a book about the famous green bazaar. This is a place of the freshest greens, vegetables, fruits, meat, etc. You can find absolutely everything, any delicacies, rare herbs, up to bear bile. Clothes, shoes, plumbing, stationery, toys... a shopping paradise
Our favorite central market. We wish prosperity and improvement of infrastructure for the benefit of our city! The most visited place where you can buy everything. I recommend
Everything is quite expensive, we used to go to the green bazaar on purpose because everything was cheaper there, now it's much cheaper to buy in supermarkets!
A good historical place you can find everything you want there are new buildings I like that there is a good assortment a lot of sellers who will always tell you
I love this bazaar. On my next visit to Almaty, go straight there. In addition to fruits, vegetables, dried fruits, which were taken there, we really liked Korean food. A whole huge range of Korean food, for example several types of mushrooms, hake fish (my favorite), eggplant, carrots and a bunch of other things. All the girls are very nice, they give you a sample of such a portion that you can overeat.
Well, if the smells are not yours..avoid meat rows. Otherwise, the market and the market. As in many cities....only really big and with an oriental flavor.
An absolutely ordinary bazaar from the 80s and 90s! There is everything, but not too good quality
We were passing through ourselves, we went to take a look, like in a museum
A real oriental bazaar is also a huge Central market of Soviet architecture. I have not seen markets of this scale in Russia either! Every time I come to Almaty, I am drawn here))
A very iconic place!
This is not a market, in fact it is already a museum, you go there and remember the childhood of the USSR.... be sure to visit those who are over 35 years old....young people are not interested in this
A colorful Central Asian market. Early in the morning (at about 7 a.m.), before the opening of the main pavilions, a spontaneous bazaar is formed on the adjacent street. They sell goods from cars much cheaper than behind the stalls of pavilions.
Once one of the main attractions of the then capital of Alma-Ata.
Unfortunately, it has lost its flavor.
Although you can also buy a variety of products, including goods produced by food industry enterprises in Kazakhstan and other countries. As before, fresh vegetables, fruits, herbs, berries, meat, fish from local reservoirs and brought from distant seas - all this is in abundance here. Prices are more expensive than in some other markets.
I do not recommend it. Prices have become terribly inflated, although the assortment is good. The goods presented there can be purchased 2 or even 5 times cheaper, but in another place
The historical center is beyond doubt. Conversations with sellers who are already trading in the second and some in the third generation. The place undoubtedly attracts ordinary people and not only. As they say in the bazaar, two fools, one seller and the other buyer. You need communication and guidance here. With good communication and dialogue with sellers, you can count on a good discount! Well, if you become a regular customer, then you are greeted as a family friend. An amazing place where the bygone era of the Kazakh SSR and modern Kazakhstan intersected. It is currently undergoing reconstruction and, characteristically, without closing the retail space! It's a very difficult job. To repair what has been standing for 50 years. Good luck in your work, given the bureaucratic situation in obtaining docks from state services.
Previously, the green bazaar was better both in terms of prices and trade organization. Prices for all goods are approximately the same as in other markets, and for some goods even higher.
Of course, the range of products is huge due to the large retail space. Therefore, if you want to buy cheaper, you will have to walk around and get a price. You need to bargain at the bazaar! This is Asia!
Parking is difficult. You need to look for a place in the small streets around the bazaar. There is a branch of Kaspi Bank on Zhibek Zholy. This bazaar actually has everything.
A good bazaar.
Sellers are getting impudent in places with prices, the price for homemade cucumbers in July was 1200 TENGE per 1 kg, but mostly adequate prices.
It's a creepy place. Of course, when you come to such authentic places, you want to get new impressions. I had only feelings of disgust, especially from the meat department. The absence of refrigerators, a sterile area for meat products. Flashbacks from childhood immediately appeared, when there were similar bazaars in Russia, where live butchers butchered carcasses, pig heads hung, and good-natured touts drew attention to their shop. Everything is kind of disorganized and unstructured. In the section with nuts and dried fruits, there are unpleasant sellers who press you. A meager department with plants. And in general, the market looks shabby and maybe it impresses onlookers from developed countries, but to be honest, this place only disgusted me and made me want to leave it as soon as possible. The only thing that pleased me was the few shops of cute old ladies who sold pastilles and churchkhela. However, the baklava that I bought there, I would not call it very tasty. Well... Such... There are places in Almaty that are much more interesting than this bazaar.
Probably, there is no person who does not know the green bazaar. A large selection of high-quality goods, a variety of food products. A good place to buy everything you need for your home.
The building itself is very old inside and out. It's like the Soviet Union. And inside, a gastronomic paradise opens up! There is everything and everything looks very tasty and fresh. One of the disadvantages is that prices are more expensive than usual (
I don't quite understand why they're trying to drag all the tourists here. The most ordinary unremarkable market that exists in any more or less large city of the former USSR.
A good market where everything is very conveniently located, that's just the problem with parking is very problematic, and she worked in this market and lived nearby.
I didn't like it: I don't like it when they sell you goods. Prices are space, service is three-fold - if you take Korean sweets like he or carrots in Korean, they are put in a bag) and not in a container. I don't recommend it.
A large bazaar with the same size selection, and oddly enough, with the same horse prices. I do not know what causes them, but I personally have not yet found an explanation for this phenomenon
Legendary and original, attractive at the time, where you could buy fresh, inexpensive fruits and vegetables from summer residents and private owners.
Unfortunately, this is not the case now, it is an ordinary outlet with inflated prices and not quite fresh products.
There is a lot of choice, some are cheaper than at wholesale, and some are more expensive. All dried fruits, cheeses, eggs, fish (herring, salmon) are more expensive. Greens cost about the same, but you can choose at the wholesale market, but not here. Sausages at the wholesale market are also cheaper and there is more choice. Cereals, seasonings and meat and poultry are about the same price. But there is more choice of poultry on the green.
Again, parking is problematic, prices are high, the place is purely authentic for tourists, so to speak

The landmark of Almaty is number 1. A historical place, the most central market in the city, the most popular among tourists, an architectural monument of the Soviet period, the favorite bazaar of Almaty residents
This is a legendary bazaar, founded back in the distant USSR. You can find everything fresh and delicious in it. The prices, of course, are not low, but I highly recommend it
There used to be a great bazaar! The prices were the lowest in the city. And now the prices are the same as everywhere else. In some bazaars, it is even an order of magnitude lower. The choice of goods, of course, is eye-watering. But the prices!!!!
The Central Bazaar or the Green Bazaar is popularly known. The central market of the city. One of the attractions of the city of Almaty. Excellent location, near the 28 Panfilov Park.
The market, in a word, the market) in the sense that we love and remember it. Yes, the mall is comfortable and bright, it's clear where and what, but sometimes you just want to walk around and see what to buy that you don't need. Just for the soul in the true sense of the word. I think many people will understand me.
It's like in America, there's everything!!! A large area, a lot of different goods, there is a bargain (east after all). Security. You can have a delicious meal.
A well-promoted and quite convenient bazaar standing since the days of the Silk Road. Prices bite more for exceptional goods, and the mobile phone trade is well developed.
The market is like a market. A lot of products. But in fact they are the same in a row. Only the prices may be different - I recommend asking everywhere first. I was buying spices. The price is different at the beginning of the row and at the end. While there is a repair around, there is no sense of the globality of the word market. But by choice, it is definitely cooler than any store. I recommend it!
