An interesting place from a loaf to everything else, it's worth visiting when you arrive, be sure to buy fruits and souvenirs home, and the prices are good
merchants are trying to deceive about the origin of the goods (they say about non-local tangerines that local (tangerines with a loose peel, which has a certain air layer between the skin and the slices) and the actual product itself (they sell unripe green lemons, calling them lime), etc. (it is possible in all markets so ...).
I recommend visiting this market to all those who come to Abkhazia on vacation! Such a variety of seasonings, teas, spices! Black Sea fish in assortment, locally produced cheeses, sausages. Amazingly beautiful jewelry, hats, slippers! And the prices there are much lower than, for example, somewhere on an excursion. I do not recommend buying draught types of homemade wines, cognac and chacha, you may not be very lucky 😊
It's a big market, it's expensive, they don't bargain, they're not inferior in price. It may be a little cheaper than in local stores. Somehow everything is not put together, the rows are disorderly. The meat is good, the average price. There are a lot of spices, but the portions are small glasses. We bought cherries, it turned out to be more expensive than in Kazan even. Nuts are not expensive. There is a large selection of products. If you walk for a long time, maybe you can find cheaper ones, but time did not allow us.
Prices are inflated in the market and almost every seller deceives buyers from Russia and outweighs them.We paid for the nut paste, but an Abkhazian woman shouted at the whole market that we had not paid and in order to avoid further conflict we had to leave. The terrible attitude of the Abkhazians towards the Russians, they do not have a drop of politeness, respect. We will never come to this market again.
The market is like a market , but very let 's say monotonous , but if you go for a specific thing , it 's better to walk around and look , there is an opportunity to find something cheaper , but the main thing is not to buy from Gypsies !
A large selection of goods and products. If something is not found in city stores, there is almost everything on the market) bargain it's the same market)
A huge assortment, both in quality and price. Unfortunately, prices are noticeably rising from year to year. It's already the same as in St. Petersburg. There are few agricultural products of their own... Mostly imported ((((, but it gets quite edible... I think in such a climate, Uzbeks would be overwhelmed with real natural food. And so...
We took delicious teas
Souvenirs at affordable prices 👍

A place, apparently, for those who miss the 90s:
From charges for parking on a simple street, to jostling in the rows. You are instantly immersed in the chaos and atmosphere of "petrasha".
Dubious impressions...
It's a nightmare, the street is narrow, there's nowhere to put the car at all and it's impossible to drive, in the end I didn't even get there, everything is crowded with cars, but in fairness I will say that the embankment is just gorgeous!!! And there are many cafes!!!
There's a lot of stuff. But prices are high, especially for fruits. The locals squeeze everything out of the season. For comparison, watermelon is 50-60 rubles per kg, houses far away are 20 rubles each.
An ordinary market with its own "microflora". Those who love and know how to bargain will get a lot of pleasure from visiting. Personally, my day started at the market with a cup of coffee with fruit. I advise everyone to start the day this way.
A normal market. You can buy local and not only fruits and vegetables at an affordable price. We were surprised with parking. For the fact that we stopped near the market at the parking place and drove on without leaving, they wanted to charge us full payment for parking. We stood for 1 minute until we realized that we had arrived in the wrong place.
Vanity, an ordinary market, wine and chacha is better not to take here, and in general in Abkhazia if you do not know specifically that the wine is real, since 99% of the wines and chacha sold are wine with powder and moonshine with the smell of wine
At the same time, it causes positive and negative emotions at the same time. Positive from the point of view that everything is always fresh and tasty with a very reasonable price for fruits and vegetables. But as for how sellers invite themselves to this is a separate kind of art, everyone pulls the blanket over themselves so that they come and buy from him, be prepared that some will almost take you by the hand and "drag" you to their pavilion.
The grocery market is huge! If you noticed the product and went on to look at prices, there is a chance that you will no longer find this point. The prices are basically the same, well, plus or minus 10-20 rubles, there is a difference for something. The clothing market is so-so, the prices are high, but the goods are so-so, there is nothing to look at... So buy goodies and souvenirs, and you should take things at home from the usual trusted stores.
I often go to the market for nuts, tea and dried fruits when I'm going hiking in the mountains for a few days. The choice is huge!! even dinosaur eggs can be found (joke))
Unsanitary conditions, space prices. Rare goods, which are not found anywhere else, will not be found on the shelves. Everything is ordinary, you can buy it anywhere. The treatment of customers is bad. They didn't hear about politeness there.
You can find anything, buy good delicious cheese and meat, I don't talk about vegetables at all, BUT I haven't seen so many gypsies for a very long time, everywhere on every corner, they walk with children, and therefore you check all the contents of your pockets every 5 minutes...
The usual market "greetings from the 90s", or the crowd was also called before, where everything is sold in a mix! Vegetables /fruits are all imported, the price tag is 1.5 times higher than in Russia. It is useless to bargain, they will also laugh, because tourists are the main earnings of the local population.
The lowest prices in Abkhazia are at the Sukhumi market, a large selection of fruits and vegetables, a sea of greens and, of course, cheeses and seasonings.
You can find everything in this market))) a good market, everything that was bought was fresh and delicious. but very carefully, keep your bags always close, they can steal something)
What can I say - the market is NOT the SAME anymore! There is NO choice of meat, there is practically no fish. The vegetables don't move and they put them in a bag with the rotten ones together. Prices vary for the same thing and it is absolutely not clear by what criteria, most likely from the degree of greed and arrogance of sellers....
Be careful with fraud!!! All the years we've been collecting goodies home here, this 2022 was just shocking. I just want to save everything and take it next year, give it back!
Churchkhel, marshmallows and the like are pure essence and dyes, apparently they no longer make them themselves, they take them from somewhere wholesale. With previously favorite sauces, the same story. Tkemali was poured into the toilet, a few bottles for himself and friends ...
But a special story with wine! Be careful! Your favorite factory wine is now a surrogate! I always type in several types of boxes. And what a "surprise" I discovered for myself this year, being already at home. It's not even wine at all, guys - sweet water with flavoring, sugar and a glass of alcohol!!!! I certainly did not expect that such a cheap wine would be forged.
In general, Abkhazia has deteriorated greatly, for the first time in several years I do not even want to return.
