There are no questions about the cave, everything is gorgeous and beautiful. But questions to the organizers: is it really hard to sell tickets on the Internet???? You come, buy tickets only for cash and wait for the time of the tour (we waited 40 minutes) .At the same time, it is written that organized groups are a priority, so tickets may simply not be enough. The toilet is a ceramic hole in the floor, as it used to be at our school. In the 90s. 10 10 rubles, so prepare the change.
They fill the excursions to the brim. There were not enough seats in the carriages for everyone, to which the "polite" staff said that it would take 3 minutes to go, like you can stand.
The guide is a very polite lady, she tells everything interestingly into the microphone. Everything was heard well.
All the beauty cannot be described... It is a must for all tourists in Abkhazia!!! The most beautiful place. Spare no money and take a train ride to see all the beauty
It's a miracle! I do not know what to compare it with! At times it seemed that I was not on Earth, but on the Moon! An hour's walk inside the mountain with an amazing guide's story! If you are in Abkhazia, then you must definitely visit this place!
You can visit it as a tourist attraction, but get ready for the fact that it is quite cool there (about 10-12 degrees) and not all caves are open to the public, because scientific work is underway in some, and archaeologists are working in some. The duration of freezing on the tour is about 1.5 hours. You can only enter with a guided tour, there is no entrance on your own.
Novoafonskaya cave is one of the largest caves in Abkhazia, located on the territory of the city New Athos. It is a huge karst cavity with a volume of about 1 million m3. It is available for tourist visits. A cave railway tunnel has been laid to the entrance to the cave. It was discovered in 1961. It consists of several halls. The length of the route is about 2 kilometers.
It is very impressive with its beauties, underground lakes, stalactites and stalagmites. Beautiful photos are obtained.
A stunningly beautiful karst cave.
If you are not traveling with an excursion, be prepared to spend at least 30 minutes in the queue. until one o'clock. Excursions are served out of turn.
After buying tickets, you will most likely have to wait about an hour before the appointed time.
The temperature in the cave is about +15 °C, take a cape with you.
The tour lasts for an hour and twenty.
A very beautiful cave, interesting stories from the guides. Very unusual and fascinating. Be sure to go and see with your own eyes, not one photo will convey the atmosphere and beauty of this place.
I had to wait a long time. 2 hours. Nicely. An excellent guide. But before, the lighting was more interesting and more halls were shown. Be sure to wear jackets and comfortable shoes. Slippery. It is advisable to tie the phone so as not to drop it.
It's a very interesting place. In my mind, a cave is something small, but there... A must-visit. Tickets are sold for a limited time. If there is a large influx of tourists, it may turn out that everything is already occupied in the near future and you will have to take a later time and wait. On the train, you can sit in the first carriage and look ahead. The driver is sitting in the last one))
An interesting tour, beautiful, cool (what you need in the heat) it was comfortable in a T-shirt and shorts, it was better to go in the morning, until 10 o'clock.
I've been there five times and I'm ready to visit again next time!
I recommend. The scale and beauty are amazing!
And be sure to visit the Anokopy fortress located nearby. The best observation deck in Abkhazia)
Our family was completely delighted. The guides tell us very well and interestingly about the history of the caves. But unfortunately, very little time is given to study and consider the beauties around.
Be sure to visit this place. It's very big inside. First, time groups are formed. Then the group takes a small train inside the mountain. The tour itself is walking and takes about 1.5 hours. Put on comfortable shoes and take a plaid or windbreaker - it's about +12 inside, the guide leads the group through the halls and tells everything. At the end of the tour, there is a small train again and it takes the group back to the surface.
An amazing place!
Everything is organized for tourists: blankets and souvenirs at the entrance, a train (as in the subway) takes you from the main entrance to the entrance to the cave, a guide meets you, the tour (quite interesting) lasts about an hour, the same train brings you back to the main entrance.
The cave is amazing, you feel like a hero of a fairy tale or an explorer of another planet. The tour lasts 1.5 hours, and this time flies by unnoticed. A train takes you inside, visitors walk in the cave itself, a distance of 1.5 km. Wear comfortable shoes, it's slippery in places, water drips from the vault.
Just for the sake of the New Athos Cave, it is worth going on an excursion to Abkhazia from Sochi and enduring endless tastings)
The queue at the checkout is huge under the blazing sun.We stood for an hour, the tickets ran out and they said they would be there in two hours. In short, they turned around and left. You can get on the tour bus, because they pass without queuing, but it's much more expensive.
I definitely recommend it for a visit! Before visiting, look at the schedule on the website, we arrived on our own one day and she did not work. There are a lot of people, but it's worth it! By the beginning of the route, you are delivered by a railway carriage like in the subway, only smaller. Inside is a super, huge route, during which you will be accompanied by stories from a local guide. In one of the caves you can sing a song (the guide will suggest) do not hesitate, it sounds very cool. The visit time will take about a couple of hours, taking into account the queue, the time of the tour and the way back to the exit.
If the review is in, please like it.
It was the second time. We got there very quickly, we waited 20 minutes, as tickets were already on sale for the next session. The subway cars are filled so much that some had to stand. The tour is interesting, but there was not enough soul. Maybe a large number of tourists influenced it. It is necessary to visit the cave, but it is better not in season. It will be a better impression. And in the warm season, do not forget to take warm clothes: sweaters and trousers. The cave is cool and damp.
We really liked it, the experience is unforgettable! It is cool in the cave, about 13 degrees, wear comfortable shoes without heels, walk about 2 km along a path with slopes and ascents. For the opportunity to photograph a separate ticket, 50 rubles. at the entrance. Who wants to sing in a hall with acoustics, do not miss your chance))) the guide will allow you in one of the halls. The duration is about 1.5 hours
Okay, but for someone who is interested in caves. An announcer-guide accompanies you along the entire path of the cave. There are many stalactites and stalagmites, as well as water cave springs. I recommend taking sweaters with you, but not wearing pants! The temperature in the cave is +14. It's quite warm in shorts.
Space! We took it as part of an excursion trip, so we enjoyed the charm of the underground kingdom. It's incomparable, the lakes just surprised. How much space is inside the caves,
The place is iconic. A must-visit! Such views and emotions are worth your attention. The service is not bad. Do not forget to purchase a photo and video shooting permission.
A great place, I advise you to visit, but since 2022 the cost has doubled, from 350 to 700 rubles per person! In addition, another 50 rubles for permission to take photos or videos, plus 10 rubles for a toilet, a 1.5-hour tour, but it is better to call and book if you are not traveling in an organized manner, but on your own. Otherwise, waiting for the visit time, at the height of the season from 1 to 2 hours, trains to the caves depart every 20 minutes. I think the review was useful. And even more. Who is on their own transport + 100 or 200 rubles for parking a car, if at the caves themselves!
The cave itself is impressive. But it is better to go there with an excursion group. Tickets are sold only in the morning and day after day, i.e. you can't buy them the next day and you can't book them either. There are very few tickets, everything is sorted out by groups (they can be booked). We arrived in July 2022 at lunch. I stood in line for 2-3 hours, waiting for the group to arrive in full. As a result, they got into the cave, but it's better to go with a group so as not to waste time.
It is a very beautiful and strong energetic place, I want the entire complex of the New Athos monastery to be restored as soon as possible and it will be a very beautiful place. There are caves nearby, a power plant with a waterfall and many more places. I recommend you to visit.
Sad, exhausted guides. The cave is beautiful. Three halls are not accessible, and the guide informs about it several times, as if gloating. Although they are not originally intended for visiting.
If you are going to come here, know that there are no guarantees that you will be able to get into the cave. You can stand in line for more than an hour, and then find out that there were no tickets for that day even when you first came to the queue.Everything is organized just disgusting.
A huge one and a half hour queue. You cannot buy tickets in advance via the Internet, and you cannot buy tickets at the ticket office the day before.
We stood in line for an hour and a half, when we were almost at the ticket office, a vague announcement sounded that there seemed to be no more tickets. We stood in line for a while, because we weren't sure if we had heard correctly.
After another twenty minutes, a second announcement finally sounded, announcing that there were no more tickets for that day.
It must be very beautiful in the caves, but I didn't find out about it. I only found out about how disgustingly organized this place is.
It's not even worth one star.
This is some kind of fairy tale, a perfectly equipped cave, a very large number of fascinating views, a comfortable temperature inside, if I'm not mistaken, 11 degrees, of course with a plus sign, slightly increased humidity, but we were not raining, perhaps in the rain or immediately after, the humidity is higher.
The cave is interesting, but in high season there are a lot of people, you have to come for tickets early in the morning. The cave's website says that it has been open since 9 a.m., we arrived at half past eight, there was already a queue at the checkout, about 20 people. Apparently the ticket office is open from 8, although it is not registered anywhere and the first session in the cave was at 8.40, so come in advance. And the bad thing is, you can't buy a ticket online, only at the ticket office.
The cave, or rather 6 of the 9 caves, includes an excursion. The whole underground kingdom, stalactites, stalagmites, very beautiful and mysterious views. Dress warmly, it's only 14 degrees there, even though it's 30 degrees outside.
I highly recommend visiting this place if you come to Abkhazia. Excellent organization.
Be sure to bring warm clothes with you. It is very cold and damp in the cave. I took a windbreaker and jeans with me. I put them right on my summer sundress (fortunately it's short, it turned out like a tunic). There is a free toilet in the museum itself, all around are paid.
It is better to come right in the morning, for the first sessions. There are a lot of people. And if you want to see the tunnel, then run into the first car to the very first place. The train goes automatically, everything will be clearly visible.
A beautiful cave. Be sure to take a sweater, put on pants and comfortable shoes without heels. If you have a good voice, get ready to sing an excerpt, the guide will ask you. Very good acoustics. The purest air. But for those who do not tolerate pressure drops, I do not recommend it. You won't get out soon, the trailers are on schedule. Go to the toilet in advance! There is no toilet there!!! The route is a kilometer and a half on foot, so take children only well-walking! Those who have phobias of enclosed spaces, better leave them alone upstairs. To the rest: have fun and enjoy.
Great place! What is now called atmospheric! The semi-darkness, beautiful lighting, pleasant music allow you to truly enjoy the wonder of nature. I highly recommend you to visit!
