I highly recommend you to visit. After viewing the castle, you definitely need to go to the castle street. We were lucky, we got to the holiday fair, but I think even without a holiday there is something to please the eye
I really liked the castle and the city itself. The city is clean, beautiful houses (architecture), churches, churches, synagogue. I advise you to take a look, you won't regret it
Cool, atmospheric. Interesting to visit, lucky, worked on December 25th. No creepy plastic and other unsuccessful renovation innovations like in some other places in Belarus. From the observation deck there is a good view of the Neman and the Kolozhskaya Church.
A beautiful castle on a high bank, which gives it even more beauty. We went down to the river specifically to take a photo. But it didn't work out to get inside. The gates were closed.
We walked with friends through the night city - the castle attracted us, as it was somehow illuminated.
A little further away is the Kalozhskaya Church, which is also well lit, but climbing at night over rather small ledge stones is still an adventure (on the way back it rained again - "they grabbed an extra").
In general, it is sad that the embankment is not actually illuminated at night: the "brightest" places are: a cafe next to the pier (there is the only one there), a bridge, a castle, a church.
Restored Old Castle. 20 years ago there were ruins. It was nice to see. And how gorgeous it looks on the banks of the Neman! You definitely need a guide to tell the story of the castle.
Perhaps it was just overestimated expectations that were not fulfilled - we saw the layout of the Grodno castle in the castle of Peace and thought that it was like this now. Perhaps one day the Old Castle will be restored and restored, and it will look like a castle (inside I mean), but for now the white plastered walls and showcases with exhibits are only like an ordinary history museum. However, I liked the bathhouse, the chapel and the alabaster hall (and there is nothing else to see).
The centuries-old history of my country, restored and preserved for us and future generations. I recommend you to see and enjoy the magnificent views of the beautiful city of Grodno from the observation deck.
We were in September 2024, it is very interesting, I hope from the time the castle will completely become a museum and fully show the life of the rulers of that time
There is something to see. But a huge disadvantage is that modern furniture and decoration are very noticeable and stand out. I would like to "age" a little both externally and internally.
Our family had the pleasure of spending one day in Grodno, so after breakfast we visited the castle. There are many impressions left from the visit, one of which is the bridge, where slabs are placed on top of the roadway, which somehow do not fit this castle. The castle itself was beautifully reconstructed and restored.
When visiting the museum, get ready to walk up the stairs a lot. Peculiar little labyrinths. It is also very beautiful on the observation deck. Basically, all the halls are dedicated to Stefan Batory.
Interesting, informative, beautiful view from the observation deck. The museum is closed on Monday, but admission is free on the last Tuesday of the month.
Undoubtedly, the main attraction of Grodno! First the old castle appeared, and then Grodno appeared around it! These walls remember the Grand Duchy of Lithuania, the Polish-Lithuanian Commonwealth and Prussia! It's so unusual to find out the story in the "other side"
The old castle was well restored. A very interesting and beautiful exposition. I wish there were free guides for those who did not book the tour in advance. And so everything is beautiful: the castle, the exposition, the surrounding views. I highly recommend you to visit!
We came to Grodno for 3 days. We love excursions, a simple inspection will not give food for imagination. But at the checkout, a nice woman with a sweet smile informed us that we would not get on the tour - all the guides were busy. We literally had to pull out of her with pincers that we needed to make an appointment in advance. You can only sign up with the guides, but they are not available and will be available only in two hours.. It's a maze of some kind... Then it turned out that you can sign up for a tour, but only after two weeks))) everything seems polite, well-mannered, with a smile, but.. "No"! Okay. We looked like this.
In general, like all castles in Belarus: clean, whitewashed, plastered, fire signs glued, inventory numbers written. Immaculately soulless
A great place with a great view, the museum presents the history of the city and the kings, as well as their way of life and ancient maps, a lot of tourists
The castle is small, there are interesting multimedia, the halls show, in principle, the way of life and decoration of ancient times. This is one of the main attractions of the city, it is necessary to visit for completeness and impressions of the city
The exposition is small, but quite interesting. The price of a visit is low. There are several videos broadcast on the walls of the premises. A very good souvenir shop (you can buy paintings by a local artist and baked clay dishes for a penny).
The view from the observation deck is very good.
There seems to be nothing to reconstruct from the outside, it was not possible to get inside, because they work until 18.00 on Sunday. A lot of tourists come on weekends to see the sights, pay for admission, 5-7 rubles and they work until 18.00 in the summer ?
There are no problems shifting the work schedule to the peak of activity.
I advise you to visit Mirsky and Nesvizh castles immediately after the excursion. It will be very interesting and informative from the point of view of history.
An interesting exhibition, worth a look . Not much of the castle is open, but it is quite normal for an easy tour. There are exits.on the observation deck on the tower of the building, beautiful photos can be taken
Cool castle, it will be even better after the restoration is complete. We went as a family, the children were satisfied. After the visit, my wife wanted to read the story about the Bathory. The views of the city from the castle are stunning.
A very beautiful castle both inside and out, rich decoration, wood trim. It's a pleasure to take a walk and get acquainted, it's worth visiting this castle!
I really liked the castle, the friendly and courteous staff. Minus for the small number of exhibits, for the fact that almost everything that is presented in the museum is copies and replicas. I really liked that the price of an adult ticket is lower if you visit the museum with your family, together with your child.

I liked the castle. Good guides. The impression remained.
If you have been to other castles, then there is, of course, a bit of disappointment. But still, well done.
A worthy place to visit. It looks very textured from any angle. Entrance is paid, but not so expensive, there are benefits for children, students, pensioners, etc. since the castle is actually recreated from the ruins, something sky-high should not be expected. Multimedia clearly tells about the history of the castle. The exhibits are not signed in Russian, which offends a little
A beautiful place. The view from the side of the fire column is fascinating.
Restored castle. Staff who will tell and prompt.
When interviewing a local - the castle is recommended first of all)
The castle is being restored by erasing history. I was surprised that the Almighty was depicted with the face of Zeus... Apparently the artist knows better... There's not much left, but there's a lot to see. It is better to visit with a guide, if you can find an adequate one, it will be cool! I advise you to visit with your family and friends! There will be something to discuss and remember! The scenery is just great!!! A historical place for Belarusians!
The castle is very beautiful, an interesting exposition, BUT. One huge thing, BUT you can't come and book an excursion right away, even an individual one. We were on August 3rd, and the nearest free date is August 15th!!! Customer orientation of the highest level!!!!
This completely ruined the mood and impression of the castle. A service of the scoop level. It's beautiful inside.
I was in the Old Castle in 2018 in the midst of work. I liked the museum's collection. I am glad to see a good replica of the former ruins. On the gate grille, I noticed the monogram SR, which I could not identify myself. Explain what it is? I fell in love with Grodno for its extraordinary cleanliness and unhurriedness. With the wish of prosperity to the city and all fraternal Belarus NP Salokhin Professor OmSTU Omsk PS Will the material of Igor Lapehi's layouts be used?
I really liked the reconstruction and the approach to restoring the elements. All I needed was an audio guide, of course the signs are good, but it's much more interesting to look at and listen to.
