It's a nice small airport, there's nowhere to get lost. The staff is very friendly and helpful. The sense of humor and friendliness of taxi drivers are on top. The exchange rate is tolerably high. In general, "+"
Review update, September 2024.
The monorail is almost built, the locals are talking about opening in 2025, the Chinese are completing it.
In general, everything is very fast at the airport, all the necessary procedures.
A strong disappointment is the souvenirs. Chocolates at cosmo prices, there is practically no horse meat. If you want to bring souvenirs, it is better to buy in the city.
The cafes on the second floor are generally decent, there are also alcoholic beverages. But the price tag is also sky-high, in Moscow there are no such distortions with the price tag at the airport.
Minus an asterisk for the lack of alternatives to bus and taxi, as options to get to the airport. If a highway is blocked somewhere in the city, you can get stuck in traffic. The railway to the airport has been built for many years and so far there are only concrete pillars of support that are behind the fence. The locals call it a monument to corruption. It seems that the Chinese have now been allowed to finish building. The airport itself is bright and spacious. All processes are clear and fast.
The responsive staff will always explain and tell you where to go and where everything is. The airport is clean, tidy, there is a cafe with delicious coffee and fresh food
The staff is polite, they will even help you call a taxi if anything, there is an exchanger, the international departure area is small, maybe there are other exits, do not count on shopping in buttercup, just no business halls 2, which sky lounge is rotten, there is nothing to eat, small and a lot of people.. on my personal scale, I would have given 3 stars, but in the end I decided 4- purely because of the people working there.
It's a great airport. Apparently one of the few places where Priority Pass cardholders from Russia have access
But there is one trap for the inattentive:
The parking lot at the airport is divided into categories P1, P2, P3, P4
If you want to leave the car for 1-2 weeks, put the car on P4.
We did not pay attention, we left the car on P1 for 3 weeks - the golden parking turned out to be 90,000 tenge
The airport is not very big yet, but it is cozy and modern. There is everything you need according to the highest standards. There is a huge parking lot for cars nearby. There is public transport to the city. An overground subway will be built soon.
Problems: it is better to have cash with you, which can be exchanged at the airport using a Russian passport. Most exchanges in the city require a passport. To travel by public transport, you need a special card or application. You won't be able to pay with our cards or cash, it's better to ask someone. Yandex.taxi is paid from the application with automatic conversion.
The airport is cozy. There is a prayer room, and there is a place in the toilet for taking ablutions. A relatively inexpensive dining room on the second floor, and a shop on the ground floor with prices like in the city.
I was born in this country and in this city. I saw the old airport, and even flew in a cornfield as a child. Our city has become so beautiful, so neon and shiny. It has grown exactly twice. The airport is also our pride. But the main thing is people. They are special for us, and the airport is the place from where acquaintance with our city begins for someone!
The airport is a little cramped. The airport staff are wonderful, contact and responsive. But the biggest disadvantage is that WIFI only works with SIM cards of Kazakhstan, although the airport is INTERNATIONAL. The employees helped out, thank them very much
It is a very large and beautiful airport.
All services inside the hall are available, a currency exchange office, a car rental pick-up point, a directory and ticket offices, capsules for relaxing several cafes.
A pleasant airport with a national flavor! The waiting room is not a bad cafe with reasonable prices for the airport. Large parking, different prices depending on the distance.
The airport is convenient and clear.
Do not change money for local currency in the airport building, horse exchange rates. If necessary, you can change a little, and it is better to exchange the main money in the city.
If Kent does not meet you for some reason, then you can take a taxi from the airport to the city (Yandex is better than bombs at the entrance) or a bus.
The bus runs fast
One of the best airports in the world! It's comfortable, spacious, and beautiful. There are no huge crowds of people, there is enough room for everyone. There is a supermarket, a cafe, a canteen.
Of course, in 1989, I was in Tselinograd at the zonal competitions, I did not even imagine that in 20-30 years there would be such a beautiful city, the airport is good, everything is clean and corresponds
to the capital, the staff is friendly, neat.
I really liked the airport in Astana. Cool interior A lot of fast food there is a grocery store with reasonable prices. There are several currency exchange offices, but the exchange rate is a little low. You can also buy SIM cards with a local mobile connection and be in touch. But again, the price is a little too high, you can buy cheaper in the city. I was passing through bringing passengers from Omsk. A little disappointed with paid Parking. I left strictly on time, but for some reason the barrier did not open, and as a result I had to pay for another hour of parking as the time of the next hour went.
The staff is friendly, tells you what and where.
The territory is clean, as well as inside.
The waiting rooms are small.
Parking, it would be possible to increase the time for free or increase the time of stay.
A beautiful and well-maintained place, although it is not large, but very convenient , parking is conveniently located , navigation is very simple, waiting rooms are quite comfortable, there are various cafes.
A wonderful airport, clean, new, even cozy in places, without too much fuss. Upon arrival, there is everything you need, exchangers (the exchange rate really leaves much to be desired), cellular communication and transport accessibility to the capital. You want a bus, but you want a taxi. It's not far to the city. Taxi prices here are very friendly. The only thing missing is a full-fledged cafe with delicious Kazakh cuisine. January 2024.
My favorite airport, we fly often, but everything is clear and fast. A good set of restaurants and shops for buying souvenirs. There is convenient parking.
A beautiful bright building. Good air conditioning. The air is fresh. There are many places to have a snack. There is even a dining room with breakfast in the local flight lounge.
A cozy, compact airport. Very friendly and competent people work there. Everything you need is available. They say there is even a capsule hotel somewhere here)
A small airport, but very clean and tidy. We ate inexpensively and very tasty in the departure area. The control was carried out quickly, without much delay
On international flights, you can use electronic check-in without printing out the boarding pass. It is very convenient if you are without luggage.
A comfortable business lounge with a wide range of dishes and drinks. Taste the local wines. And special thanks to the staff of the hall
Another remarkable meeting took place in the evening. When it was time to check into the hotel after the flight to Astana.
The taxi driver, who very smartly snatched us out of the crowd of arriving foreign passengers, peremptorily asked for nothing more than 10,000 tenge for his service. Of course, he didn't have a taximeter. We had a very rough idea of the exchange rate. Of course, he didn't show any change from a hundred dollars. I had to stop at the exchanger. The time was about two o'clock in the morning. I had to go to a brand-new modern pharmacy with a request to somehow exchange American rubles for Kazakh ones.
After learning the essence of my problem, a very elderly Kazakh elder suspected something was wrong. I clarified once again in pure Russian whether we were really going from Nur Sultan airport to the hotel located next to his pharmacy. Silently, he put on a beautifully embroidered warm ishik fur coat and a traditional sheepskin headdress. Outside, it was the usual -27 here at this time of year.
He didn't even lock the front door and came out with me to the Yandex carrier.
Also, on the way to the taxi, he took several pictures on his phone, in a tone that did not allow objections, asked the driver to get out of the car. I asked again in Kazakh if he really demanded 10,000 tenge for his service? I received an affirmative answer and started a dressing down, but now he was interspersing Kazakh and Russian, so much so that after about five minutes I felt sorry for my recent extortionist. The old man began by saying: "It is because of such dealers that the impression about the whole of Kazakhstan is formed. These foreigners are not ordinary, but those who raised this country and dragged it from feudalism to socialism. Have you forgotten that we lived in the same country? Do you want to get rich overnight? You don't know how to work honestly! Therefore, people like you are not worthy to represent our country! I'm calling the police and a representative of the aggregator to resolve the issue on the merits!"
The would-be taxi driver first tried to babble something about the high cost of parking spaces, the cost of gasoline and so on, but received such a thrashing that he regretted the beginning of the controversy. He was steaming in the cold like a racehorse after a race. He just huffed and snorted, afraid that objecting might drive the situation beyond the point of no return.
Feeling an unpleasant outcome for him, he suggested that I complete the route for 1000 tenge and forget about this misunderstanding. Our unexpected defender agreed to the terms of the proposed settlement agreement.
We warmly embraced my, as it turned out, one-year-old friend and continued our journey with a feeling of joy that someone else remembers the recent common past.
It was my first time in Kazakhstan. The airport is small. There is no pandemonium and jostling. Polite staff. There were no delays. They quickly passed through customs control. Clean and comfortable.
The airport is convenient
Everything is clear
All the pointers are in different languages
Clear
I am pleased with the presence of shops and cafes
It is quite spacious and has plenty of seating
The airport is unexpectedly small, but at the same time, it is quite convenient, comfortable and cozy. There is everything you need, and at the same time all this is in its place. The only thing I didn't like was some muddy guy who very persistently offered to take a taxi to the city, for 10 thousand tenge. At the same time, he also aggressively convinced that it would not be cheaper to find. And in response to laughter, he almost got into a fight. :) As a result, he left by Yandex taxi for 1820 tenge. Yes, it certainly has a mediocre relationship to the airport, but keep this in mind. Otherwise, everything is just fine.
It's a good airport, but the scat company delays flights all the time, air Astana and flyarustan have everything clearly, there are cafes, shops, Starbucks at the airport, which is very good, you won't get hungry before departure
The International harbor of Kazakhstan. Here they meet and see you off. And sometimes there are meetings after a year, quite by chance, all friends meet at the airport. Excellent service. Food, help, safety at the highest level.
The interior of the airport is designed in a modern style, with a lot of glass and metal. All waiting and check-in areas are equipped with comfortable chairs and information boards.
As for security, Astana Airport is one of the safest in Kazakhstan thanks to modern equipment and highly qualified personnel.
The only drawback is that some flights are delayed due to weather conditions or technical problems. However, in general, Astana International Airport leaves positive impressions.
The terminal is good because there are many places where you can have a snack. There is a store.
The gates and the waiting room are large.
The terminal is divided into domestic / international. (Like all airports 😅) Airport employees are kind
We have been flying from Astana for several years now. The difference with departure from the same Moscow is cardinal.
The most important thing I want to note is a comfortable passage of the inspection, quickly and calmly.
No delays on departure, for these 3 years, we fly 2 times a day, everything is on schedule.
We leave the car in the free parking lot. It takes 3-4 minutes to walk with your luggage, very close.
The queues are small, the halls are spacious, and there are no crowds.
Everything is very convenient, the building is fresh, the cafe is small, very clean, there is a place to stay for a long wait, an exchange at the exit, transport too
It's a good airport. Spacious, clean. The staff will always prompt you. Good transport links to the city, it took 25 minutes to get from the center to the airport.
Cozy and comfortable! There is also a cafe, a dining room for different tastes, and a choice, there is a shop, If necessary, there is an exchange office. It is easy to get to the city from the airport by bus, at a very affordable price, the route goes through the whole city to the railway station.
It is comfortable in everything, the toilets are clean.
I came from Kyrgyzstan by train, stayed in Astana for a week, and then I had to fly to Moscow for work, when I flew out of Astana, the border guards were polite, and when I arrived on the return flight they were also polite, although I was told that the border guards at Astana Airport were very rude. Therefore 5⭐️
The airport is not bad, but it does not reach the level of the capital. Archaic architecture against the background of newly built buildings in the city. The worn-out chairs in the cafe are remembered. Weak infographics about the accessibility of public transport. Taxi alternative 2 buses that take an hour to get to the city, express or minibus are not available as a class.
Excellent airport, friendly and comfortable space. Quick and convenient check-in, a spacious clean area at the gates. A small but friendly duty free service. You can always take good-quality "Rakhatov" chocolate and national souvenirs as a gift. Customs inspection is prompt and convenient. A positive space.
A good airport, it's so small, the commotion, the staff understands everything, explains, thank you ..., there are practically no devices and sockets for charging the phone at Astana airport, like the airport of the capital, in smaller cities of Kazakhstan there are no problems with this..
Convenient location. Lots of parking spaces. Everything is clear at the airport, it is easy to find what you need by following the signs. Clean, cozy, lots of places to wait for your flight. Everything you need is there
The airport is very simple. There are no terminals for printing boarding passes, which means that with hand luggage you will be checking in even if you have already registered - this is a huge minus. The duty free zone is compact, the choice of goods is small, it is completely boring and dull, despite the fact that prices are incredibly high. Will there be a monorail in 4 years? Upon arrival, there is a manual border control, and 2 aircraft can be released into four or six working gates. This means that you will lose 1.5 hours for sure.
In general, this does not look very much like a real international airport of a million-plus city.
But people are nice, they are ready to help, they treat you well.
Small, but everything is provided for, perfect cleanliness everywhere, on the second floor there is a cafe with delicious food and good service, of course, a dutifry, where you can spend time before departure
So far, this is the best airport in Kazakhstan in my opinion. Let's compare when the new airport in Almaty will be completed))) everything is convenient and simple, you will not get lost. The staff is polite. Convenient access. The boarding terminals are excellent. They don't take buses to the runway))) Since 2012, I have been flying frequently from and to Astana. During this time, there was not a single situation at the airport that could spoil my mood. Moreover, in 2021, I was late for my flight, from the right side where a large parking lot is visible, the runway did not get on the plane, but as a consolation prize I was able to film how he drove away from the FRI, drove onto the runway and took off 😂
The airport is good. Everything is fine at the international terminal. But in front of the domestic flight terminal, there is a constant traffic jam on the pedestrian. There is no information on parking prices on the Internet, although there is even a covered one. Inside there is a mini supermarket with normal prices.
It's a very beautiful airport. The people are welcoming and friendly. There were no problems with border control. Currency exchange offices are located nearby. They quickly issue local SIM cards.
This is a normal airport.. There is an exchanger for money.. Everything is OK, but I was on the gallop.. And after Sheremetyevo, of course, it is difficult to assess. Well, after the New Urengoy.. Where it is no longer necessary to ride buses on boarding and everything is based on style, on design.. It's a good airport. Maybe I didn't notice something, I was in my business.
Everything is available, both taxis and minibuses, there is a place to eat delicious food. Very kind people work here!Nursultan Airport is one of the best airports in the entire CIS!
Nice, spacious airport. The navigation is clear, you can quickly figure out where to go. In any case, you can always ask the staff. They respond in a friendly and polite manner)
An excellent airport for such a city. Friendly staff. Comfortable chairs, it is always nice to be there on departure and arrival, as well as to meet guests.
