Excellent international airport.
It is free and spacious.
Everything is clean. The restrooms are wonderful, you can easily fit in a booth with a suitcase and it won't be crowded.
I was very pleased with the work of customs officers. We tried to speed up customs clearance both on arrival and before departure by organizing a queue.

The airport is clean, comfortable, with good design - I really liked it. Everything works catostrophically slowly. At about the same time, in the interval of 1 hour, two international flights took off: Moscow, Istanbul, and, in my opinion, Stockholm, or some other, but definitely a city in a Scandinavian European country and a collapse began at the airport. I had to stand in line at passport control for about 1 hour or 1.5 hours. Then through the control frames and the luggage belt for about 1 more hour. At the same time, out of 5 or 6 available tapes, only two worked. And a female airport employee, trying to speed up the process of packing hand luggage suitcases and bags, quickly pulled out on the tape so as not to delay passengers who were late for boarding, I asked why are you alone? Why do you have only 2 tapes working at the peak (as far as I understand 3 planes at about the same time is the peak) of the airport, while Its appearance was very tired.... She replied that she and her colleagues had repeatedly asked to increase the number of staff so that there would be no queues and to work more comfortably, but their management did not hear them. She asked me to write about it as a passenger on the official website.
I'm writing here. Please look at the work of your staff when several flights depart at the same time and analyze this situation, maybe it's worth changing something....

The airport is small, compact.
Everything is clean and tidy enough.
The main question for the security service, since there are few international flights, upon arrival you are surrounded by peasants with badges offering taxi services [don't be fooled, Yandex Taxi works fine and writes off payment from Russian cards without any problems].
There are ATMs in the passage between terminals 1 and 2. Pay attention to the Bereke ATMs (former BEAC), where you can withdraw money from the cards of the WORLD of unauthorized banks and Halyk - it works with UnionPay cards, again of unauthorized Russian banks.
Be careful, people will definitely stick to you with a request to call or they will tell tearful stories ("we are not local ourselves, we are behind the train" or the fat man will fill in that "I forgot my wallet in the taxi and can't leave") in order, of course, to beg for money.
I bred everything in the best traditions from the 90s and obviously all this is under the control of the local leadership and security))
Nevertheless, from the positive, there is a capsule hotel in the arrival area with the nicest administrator Jazira. There you can get some sleep after the morning Moscow flight.
Everything is fast and convenient in the departure area.
If there is access to the business lounge, then after the inspection, go to the left and go upstairs (there is no access to the second hall in the opposite part of the departure hall according to Aeroflot cards).
There you can safely charge your phone, work with fast WiFi and have a snack (I didn't take food, I won't say about the quality, but it looks normal, better than in Pulkovo))).

There is no way to give birth to coffee on the first floor, you need to go to the second floor, there are 2 resters. The coffee is honestly so-so.
