I had no idea how cool the place was. People are polite, calm and friendly! There are so many sports people, families with children and the elderly!
And the air is so soft and envelops with hospitality, it's nice.
I will come back here more than once!
Cool place) But I would like to make a pedestrian zone, otherwise it's not very convenient to shy away from every car.

I had a rest twice in the capital of Kazakhstan, back in the 90s, and then I came to the conclusion that no foreign country is needed, an ideal vacation is possible here and there are a lot of places to visit, beautiful places that will remain in memory.Mighty mountains, mountain rivers with perfect water, clean air, nature and the lake itself. There are a lot of recreation areas, barbecue and wild heat. The memories are positive and unforgettable.
The cable car is beyond praise. The views from it are simply stunning.
But the prices in the restaurant are space, and fast food wants the best quality...
A great place to walk. Clean air, beautiful views, mountain river. If you are in Almaty, you will visit, you will not regret it.! The ascent to the third point for an adult on a cable car is about 1000 rubles. It's worth it!!! Walking at a height of 3200meters is super!
This is a great place to visit for everyone who comes to Almaty!! There are only Mountains better than Mountains!! And that says it all!! You can climb the 842 steps to the observation deck if you have enough strength!!😁
If not, then the cable car to the height of ShymkentWhere the beauty is indescribable!! Words cannot convey everything!! It is necessary to visit here!!
Unfortunately, it is now in decline and traces of a "highly developed civilization" are visible everywhere, but nature compensates for everything.
You should definitely climb the endless steps to the dam. Believe me, your knees will suffer on the descent. But the views from there are fantastic.
A great place, there is a regular bus, it is convenient to get there, we boarded at the hotel Kazakhstan stop, there are forests and mountains all around, beauty, we really liked it, there is a cable car nearby, you can climb the mountain, also from Medeu you can arrange with cabbies and go to BAO-Bolshoe Almaty lake, I recommend you to visit.
The most valuable and beautiful place in Almaty. People tend to admire nature here, breathe in the fresh mountain air, especially the most interesting thing is to climb 948 steps up the Medeo.
Great place!!I skated for 4 hours, rented skates. Everything is very well organized, starting from the purchase of tickets. A skating rink in the mountains is of course great!
We couldn't go to Medeu this time. We hope that we will go on vacation in the summer.
Ice rink, snow and lots of impressions.
We watched a video of people coming back from the rink and were happy about what was happening there. That we didn't go.
A great place for both solitary pastime and family holidays, the staff is polite and friendly, but unfortunately there are no smoking booths on the territory, and this is not very convenient for a smoker, but in general the place is excellent, the contingent is cheerful, kind, and often help Beginners
Verdict: I RECOMMEND
Very beautiful! You can get off at the station before reaching the final stop, go to the Cimbulac, or just walk across the bridge and sit near a stormy river.
I go to the Medeu skating rink. The quality of the ice is excellent, and so is the price. The only thing that doesn't please you is that there are no handrails when you want to get off the ice. Because of the pits and uneven ice, even an experienced person can climb up to the edge normally.
A wonderful ski resort, with excellent trails and restaurant service!
Once we are in Kazakhstan, we will definitely come back here again! Funiculars are clean
Probably the most beautiful ice rink I've been to!
There is a lot of space for skating, relatively unbroken skates, tickets can be quickly purchased on the website. There are a lot of cafes on the ice, you can take an instructor there for a cheap price.
Of course, it's better to come here not at a popular time, but it's always decent for people here.
This is generally a historical sports complex. In Soviet times, skaters trained from all over the Union. I love this part of the city. Medeo in the summer also saves an oasis from the hot heat.
We had a great ride. It's very crowded on weekends, it's cramped on the ice. A good rental of skates, the skates themselves are very high quality and normally sharpened. There are many tents with food, you can have a snack right in your skates without leaving the ice, which is convenient.
This place is a dream from a distant, distant childhood. One day, a little girl saw a photo of Medeu in some magazine and, as an enthusiastic child at that time in figure skating, she really wanted to skate there. And so the dream came true many years later. And already with our very grown-up child, we enjoyed spending the whole day in this picturesque place - a dream from the magazine!
I love "Medeu"! What a Nature and Beauty! Once here, you rest your soul! That's why everyone loves this place! This is one of the most beautiful places in Kazakhstan and not only!
A great place for family holidays and for lovers of fresh air and hiking in the highlands. There are several interesting hiking trails from Medeo. So one visit won't do.
I advise you to visit the skating rink during working days, this applies to guests and tourists. From Friday and weekends, finding parking is the beginning of a journey, respectively, and traffic jams, with a long wait on the bus. Considering the entrance and rental prices, it is better to buy new skates in advance before visiting the rink, since the price will be almost the same. This is especially true for children. The rink itself is cool and the biggest I've been to. The only thing is that the session is very long, and after an hour the ice condition will no longer be the same for beginners. On weekdays, there are few people and the ice will be of better quality. Everything is paid at the rink, it is better to take everything with you - there is no ban on this. The prices there are high locally. It's better to take a thermos and sandwiches with you. But I advise you to go, the view is cool, the atmosphere is super, the rink is very large, and most importantly it is a historical rink
The place of my power...Since childhood, I have been charging with the Almaty mountains!!! The skating rink is the place where I have been skating for many years. If not for its unique ice and the nature around it....God bless such beauty!
I always visit medeu in winter, if I find myself in the city. Of course, there were a lot of people.. But if you come straight in the morning, then it's fine. The prices are +- adequate, they take a little everywhere, but there are a lot of these everywhere :)
I recommend
It is still one of the most romantic ice rinks. Mountains, sun, ice!
The only thing is, there are sooo many people on weekends. But, it only says that it's cool here!
A delightful place! It's flogging with its scope! Clean air and constant coolness :) there is a cable car with wonderful views! There are cafes and souvenir shops. This place is a must-visit.
This is the most ecologically clean area in the city, so my family and I like to go to the mountains more often, we really like it and it is beautiful beyond compare
A great place to relax. You can relax as an active sport: skiing, snowboarding, ice skating. So it is calmly contemplative: admire the beautiful views of nature, take beautiful photos and videos.
Unfortunately, what the Medeo skating rink and the surrounding area are like now causes only feelings of regret that such a landmark place for the entire Soviet Union and perhaps many athletes of the world is in disrepair and requires urgent large-scale overhaul. In the 20th century, it was a factory and forge of world speed skating records. Now the arena is used mainly for various shows.
A beautiful place in Almaty, I advise everyone to visit . I advise you to take a lift all the way to the top. Dress warmly, it's hot downstairs and it's cool there
We were on vacation recently, went to the Medeo, walked there, a lot of cafes, walked well, liked it very much, but we must remember the higher the cooler, it's better to take light jackets with you! 🍻
I love the Medeo skating rink, you feel such a thrill when you skate, a sense of freedom, pleasure, fresh air, a wonderful atmosphere! It's just wonderful!! I really liked it!!!! I would like to visit here more often.
It is easy to get from the center by bus 12. You can climb stairs from the stadium, or you can take a cable car or taxi directly to Cimbulac. It is very beautiful at any time of the year.
We went on a small trekking route to Furmanov Peak, we dream of returning and overcoming the Small Alma-Ata circumnavigation.
This is my love, the resort is developing, everything is getting expensive, but it's worth it, you can negotiate with taxi drivers right there, you can't call a taxi there, the buses are crowded.
This is the legendary Medeu. It's a bit expensive to climb to the top, but it's very beautiful. I recommend climbing in winter for maximum enjoyment of what you see. Little Switzerland.
The rink itself is great. But the rental on the 2nd floor is terrible! We changed the skates 3 times - all crooked, oblique! We couldn't go for a ride! The money was not returned. The teenage girls just burst into tears. Ruined day
Almaty is a wonderful city. And of course, Medeo is one of its beautiful places, where we always return when we come to visit.
Moreover, if you have time, it is better to go down on foot. This is a separate story and a pleasure.
Of course, not only Medeo, but this whole cable car that lasts hell to the Talgar pass.
A great place to relax, where you can spend the whole family. There are both rental and fast food places. A place for children's skating, and handrails for those who do not know how to skate. So anyone who has been here must learn and ride.
Prices are getting higher every year, and the skating rink is getting worse... it's very sad to see what such an iconic building of our city is turning into.
The nature is gorgeous, the air is gorgeous, and it's just beautiful, but even that can't cover weekend traffic jams and sky-high prices both in the kitchen and at the rink itself.
