Of the advantages, it is beautiful and monumental...of the cons...- we were on Saturday, the session started at 12, one ticket office was working, we regretted that we did not take the skates downstairs at the box office (at the box office), the skates were killed at the rental of the complex itself...and the price is 1,500 tenge per pair. There are a lot of people. If anyone is going to go for a ride, I recommend a weekday.
We can say a cult sports facility., which has served for more than one generation. I wish I could have been inside. The location is excellent, it seems like the city is still there, and all the attributes of the countryside: excellent views, clean air.
Impressive! It's a wonderful place, we went ice skating. There is a rental, the ice is good, the atmosphere and the mountains around are just wonderful! A must-visit!
It was true 40 years ago, but these listed issues were relevant even 50 years ago. In the winter of 1975, I was engaged in the cycling section and since riding on the road is prohibited, the coach came up with a workout for us: we took buses with transfers and walked from the drop-off point across the ridge to the Medeo skating rink, climbed the gentle part of the ridge for 2 and a half hours, climbed to the top of the ridge, even when climbing, we could hear music, and when we climbed to the top of the ridge and the music and the beauty is indescribable, the skating rink is at an altitude of 1320 m above sea level, and we were still at the top of the ridge 200 m higher, stood admiring the views, took pictures, rested and started the descent, climbing the ridge on two legs, sometimes with the help of hands it took us almost 3 hours, and the descent at the rear point took about 10 minutes. We went to a cafe to have a snack, as the climb ate a lot of energy. We approached the skating rink, and it was closed for ice processing before the competition, looked at how the ice polishing machines work, and went to the bus stop, when descending by bus, it just lays ears like on an airplane in general, I can't describe the impressions of this workout! And down there was also a descent on three buses with transfers of 250 m, and this is much longer than the descent at the third point, since they descended the steep slope of the ridge. It's a pity that the photos have not been preserved, maybe someone from our section has left, please share!
One of the sights of the city of Almaty.Clean air and silence, it is necessary to further develop the infrastructure of the facility.Of course, I recommend everyone to relax there.
The largest alpine skating rink in the world.
Thanks to the clean mountain water that is poured into this rink, it is one of the best in the world.
Many world records (more than 320) were set on it, thanks to which it had the status of a "record factory".
A small ski resort. One of the advantages is night skiing from the very top of the mountain. Of the minuses, there are very few trails. It's fun to watch the newbies fall, of which there are a lot.
A gorgeous ice rink. And there is a rental, convenient to get to, large Parking lot
The ice is good. Despite the large number of people, there is a place for everyone
The skating rink is beautiful, clean, modern. Queues move fast. But I ask the administration to pay attention to the order during skiing. Many people drive in the opposite direction or across, knock them down. There was no such thing last season, the assistant guys controlled the flow. We made comments to those who go in the opposite direction. There is no order this year.
The legendary and historical place of the city of Almaty. It is considered the highest mountain skating rink in the world! A gorgeous location, just above is the Shymkent complex, you can walk to the rocky mountains. A favorite place for residents and visitors of the city. Those who have not been to Medeo have not seen beauty 🤗
Must-visit: It's a touch of history. But you can't get to the rink itself in the off-season, you can only see it from the cable car - you must definitely take a ride, it's beautiful.
A good choice for a vacation. It is necessary to take into account the weather conditions. I liked the coffee in the mobile coffee shops. As they said, the special taste lies in the special roasting of the grains.
There are many cafes nearby. We were in the offseason, so the rink has not been flooded yet. The streets are very clean, constantly cleaned. Convenient location of free and paid parking. The beauty of the mountains is amazing.
It was the first time, all the employees are polite, explain and help tourists, using the electronic ticket office turned out to be more convenient than queuing for the funicular. There are equipment for rent, many cafes and lifts, the skating rink is large and clean. The air is awesome, the atmosphere is even better, electric cars protect the area from pollution. A lot of additional services.
Adored by both locals and guests of the city, VSK Medeu is the pearl in the crown of Almaty. The ladder of health, the road to Shymkent and all the splendor of the mountains and many mountain routes start here.
If you want to see the Mountains, go to the Medeo. We came there from the North Caucasus and were impressed , although we have a lot of our own mountains .
You only need to go on weekdays to ride, and then there are people, but not a lot,the ice is in good condition, there is enough parking, a lot of skate rental, there is a sharpening, of the cons we divided the day into sessions, and to be honest 3 hours of the session is not enough,it is convenient that you can buy tickets online
The coolest ice rink in the world. Awesome view around, as if somewhere in the Alps. It is better to rent skates in Almaty, or have your own. Since there are a lot of people who want to, you have to stand there for a long time to rent skates. Konaev did his best
A lot of people, terrible ice, a rental where everything stinks everywhere. I do not know what else to say. The skaters cut everyone off. Special pieces for support cost money.
There is a lot of information on the Internet that the complex is open all year round. I believed it and took a taxi across the city. As it turned out, it was in vain. Nothing worked there. I went up the stairs to the top of the dam - it's generally dark there. Nothing is visible and there is not a single lantern. Such a place in the summer. Unfortunately, I have not been to other seasons.
I was there in winter, I was pleased with the speed of the staff. The running dimensions of the equipment are not badly worn, but they perform their function.
The price is reasonable, you can go as a couple, with friends or the whole family
The most important place to visit in Almaty! Especially in the morning, having breakfast in the cafe at apa Katya's, it's just a great pleasure with such views!
Everything is cool, but for the last couple of years there have been a lot of people who want to ride)) neither park nor ride freely! It is necessary to go on weekdays and not at rush hour and when there is sun!!!
A great place for walking, playing sports and testing yourself for endurance😂
Fresh air, beautiful view🤗
But as always, fuck the garbage, the attitude of both the caretakers and visitors of this place
Getting out of Almaty for half a day is a good idea. The only thing: I do not recommend going up the stairs, it is easier to get up on the funicular, and back you can walk. There is definitely no point in tormenting yourself with a lift.
I recommend visiting both in winter and summer. In winter, you will skate, it is better to go in the morning while the sun is high, as soon as it sets, it becomes clearly colder.
In summer, you can take a walk here, enjoy the beautiful view of the green mountains. Climb the steps (842) on your own to the first stop of the lifts, cafes work there and the view is already with snow.
I liked the rink very much, but the impression was spoiled by the rental of Skates. Skates are just terrible and rental is far from cheap! If you want to ride, then take your own or buy it, Do not spoil the impression
The price of skipass starts from 2500 tenge
The resort is of course much simpler than our Krasnaya Polyana. But this is both bad and good, but good because there is still the potential to do something better!
Beautiful views, decent skates (rented in front of the turnstile, a deposit is required there - a document or a phone). The ice at the beginning of the session is excellent. We were at the afternoon session on the weekend, 1.5 hours after the start of the session it became crowded and the ice became broken. I recommend going on weekdays or choosing another session. Of the minuses, the steps are not cleaned, it's scary to go down at the exit from the rink. Inside, in the locker room and in the cafe, there is no card payment, only cash (small) or caspi qr.
This is one of the best places in Alma-Ata, the beauty is incredible, I really liked it, it's important to go to the Medeo in the morning and then you can see all the beauty!
The largest ice rink in Asia.
There is a great ski resort above.
To look at the mountains, it is better to go in clear weather.
I'll come back in the summer and tour everything there.
