I was born and raised in Almaty. All my childhood I went and rode platinum on Medeo. And now the Kazakhs have decided that they will let me into the mountains only for money. To my mountains where I was born. Nasty - greedy. You will not get there by train because your numbers are not Kazakh. Take it and take a taxi for the money. I sometimes forget why I left Kazakhstan - but you always remind me why I don't need to return to this country.

Kazakhstan is my homeland according to my passport (place of birth). Medeo was beautiful in my childhood and I remember the nature and the unforgettable smell of barbecue. Now it is very similar to the Krasnaya Polyana Resort in my native Sochi.
If you are in Kazakhstan, be sure to visit the Medeo - you will like it (even if there is a giant queue for the toilet, which many people complain about in the reviews)!

We were here for the closing of the season, on March 10, the quality of the ice leaves much to be desired! It is also not clear why the stands do not have a canopy? It's started to snow fine sleet, if you're not skating, but on the podium, then there's nowhere to hide and nowhere to go, unless you go inside. I'm not talking about the bathroom at all, it's just some kind of disgrace, a dirty bathroom, there is absolutely nothing, napkins / paper / soap, even the simplest toilet seat was not there, it was good that there was hot water. We have many visitors from all over the world and I am ashamed of such things. Make a good bathroom, make it paid, but not like now. Separately, about the stands that were seen by the Soviet Union! Is it really impossible to make normal plastic seats, everything is painted 20 times, it seems to me if you pick at the wooden benches, you can find the very first layer that was painted during the Union. It is a pity that no modernization is carried out and such things are not monitored.

We took a taxi to the stadium, when the weather turned bad, we went to a cafe with a beautiful view of the bubbling river. Then we looked at the nearest square and took an electric one to climb higher, the next stop was the observation deck, you can climb it on foot, but we were with the children, decided not to listen to the whining, took a picture and went higher. There is already a lift stop, a more lively place, with restaurants and stations. We went down and touched the snow, we decided not to climb higher, because we were dressed very lightly. The stadium itself was viewed only from the entrance and from the top from the observation deck.

A very beautiful unspoiled nature, powerful, large-scale landscapes, a steep, majestic landscape combined with a modern non-bubble infrastructure. Of course, the rink itself is already a legend.... The road to Cimbulac. Hiking trails in the highlands, protected grasses, unique flora and eternal mountains..... I recommend going down the road with Medeo on foot for 3-5 kilometers. You will pass easily and will be able to slowly see the wondrous beauty, take a walk. It's easy to walk....

We were there in the summer. There is an ice rink, but it is very small, the main area is given over to rollers. Of course, roller skating in the mountains is super, but because of the uneven surface and just the terrible quality of the skates themselves from the rental, we did not have enough for long. In general, the rink itself is on 3 and there is nothing to do there in the summer. But then we decided to go up the route to the mountains and there are views that compensate for the disappointment of the rink.

When climbing the dam, there is not a single bench and not a single toilet. The nearest toilet is in the rink building itself and there is a queue of up to 20 people. When climbing, there is nowhere to sit down and take a break to admire the view. People are sitting on curbs and fences. Is it really difficult to put wooden benches and toilets?
