Important! You will not be able to take more than 32 kg of luggage from this airport, there are strange "sanitary standards" at the airport, according to which loaders cannot lift more than 32 kg on board the aircraft (as if they do it with their hands on the stairs)
There are a lot of controls on an international flight, documents and tickets are checked 4 times (before going up to the border guard service, at the border guard service, when boarding the plane at the counter, and another border guard in front of the plane itself)
There is a duty, small and as everywhere with inconvenient rates and separate prices for the EAEU (+15-20% of the price)

A very beautiful building, cozy inside the building, the staff is friendly., but everything fades due to cheating passengers when weighing luggage!!!!
The scales show 1,200kg more at the international airport and 1,500kg more sadly at the local airport.
Flying out of Germany, one weight is correct (every house also has electronic scales)
And having arrived in Astana, when the same bogage is handed over, it is automatically removed!!!
This is just outrageous, and money is being pumped out!!!!!

The domestic flight area is quite decent, but during peak hours, the passenger and carry-on baggage screening area can barely cope with the flow of passengers. This is especially noticeable every year on New Year's Eve and the days before holidays with long vacations. As long as you stand these queues, seven sweats will be shed. Otherwise, everything is clean and tidy. In the new part of the airport, where international departures are, it is more spacious and convenient there. We have never been stuck for a long time - everything is always fast and without creating long queues. Border control is the same, they work quickly, politely and without too much fuss.

The airport is small. I liked it. Clean toilets, not many people. Duty free is small, there is a cafe. Quick passage through passport control and customs. To wrap a suitcase - 1500 tenge. Not a big airport, the staff works quickly and professionally, the exchanger is only up to passport control, there is no duty free zone. There are only one or two cafes in the duty free zone, and they may not work. One duty free store, the prices there if you fly to Russia +20% for perfume from the price in the shopping center of Astana, for alcohol +60-80% of the price if you fly to Russia. I highly do not recommend planning purchases and counting on a profitable duty free at this airport.

The main disappointment is the almost complete absence of any shops at the airport of this level. Tenge remained. I was planning to buy souvenirs at the airport. So there they are not there! One half-dead kiosk with minimal choice for wild money and boring duty-free. Elementary keychain nowhere to buy! Considering that there is basically no large selection of souvenir shops in Astana, this was a big unpleasant surprise.

For the first time in Astana.. a good airport: large, clean, the number of people is not felt... The toilets are clean enough. Hand dryers, contactless taps.. The reception desk is conveniently located. The parking lot is large, I won't say any more, because we took a taxi only one way to get from the train station. There are not enough outlets to charge the phone.. and they are located unsuccessfully.. to move from the departure area to the arrival area and from one terminal to another, you do not need to leave the building on the street. There is a good cafe at the international airport with excellent food and reasonable prices (from the entrance to the right.)

I left in the morning, there was no one near the counters who could explain how to do this. People figured it out for themselves. Perhaps there is an appropriate staff during the day.
There are quite a lot of seats in the departure lounge, there were enough for everyone. There are a lot of cafes, not everyone worked early in the morning, but you can find someone who is awake and buy coffee. The staff is polite. The landing was on time, and we also left on time.
