My favorite place by location in Abkhazia, the hotel is also great! It's worth learning the history of this hotel - it's amazing!!!!
I definitely recommend the service of the hotel and the cafes located near the hotel, it is very tasty, the location is just a fairy tale!
The hotel, as well as the rest in Abkhazia in general, I can not evaluate unequivocally. But if we didn't like staying in this country (firstly, because we had rotavirus twice, and secondly because of the people who inhabit it), then the hotel still brought some colors to our vacation.
1. The territory of the hotel is small, but very well maintained. It's nice to see how she is constantly being watched, cleaned, watered and mowed the lawn, washed the windows. Definitely 5/5.
2. The sea was very pleasant - warm and clean. The beach, of course, is pebbly, but it did not cause any particular inconvenience, because they calmly entered the water on a stone slab. There were plenty of sun beds, but it was better to take good places early in the morning. If it weren't for the smell of sewage, which was sometimes present in the sea due to the river flowing nearby, it would have been 5/5. And so 4/5.
3. The rooms are different. We were a company, we took two double rooms. One room was lovely, with a large balcony and a view of the beach and the sea. The other one had a small balcony purely for the dryer and a view of the parking lot and the road. And this is for the same considerable money. Also, as I understand it, it depends on the case. In some buildings, the rooms are not very good, judging by the reviews. They cleaned it every day. Special thanks to the cleaner. Overall, 4/5.
4. Leisure time. There is a swimming pool in which we did not swim; there is a tennis court; there is table tennis (a normal table in the shade); there is football, which no one plays; there is a choir; there is volleyball, which only the two of us played, and then the ball disappeared and no one else played. Well, plus beach stuff like boots, a jet ski that periodically broke down. There are not enough animators who will invite and activate the people. 3/5
5.Power supply 0/5. Well, that's a complete hello. Still, I think that if there are places on the territory of the hotel where people are supposed to eat there, then the hotel is responsible for them. There are two places that compete in how to spoil the mood of vacationers:
A) A tea house.
Among the advantages: sometimes warm food for breakfast, low prices, delicious chebureks.
Of the minuses: there are unlucky flies in chebureks; there is no service, sometimes we sat for 40 minutes waiting for them to come to us with a menu, without waiting we left; the food is mostly tasteless. Something has poisoned us 100% here.
B) Abaata.
A la European cuisine. Yeah. From the European, only the prices are here.
On the plus side: well, the breakfast buffet is a success, it would be better if it stayed for lunch and dinner; the waiters have beautiful uniforms.
Of the cons: so we haven't found a single delicious dish in two weeks, we probably ate too much in our Moscow and can't appreciate the masterpieces (judging by the prices) of local cuisine; prices here are very high, unjustifiably completely; drowned flies are found in soups; plastic containers for food are paid (well, God knows it's just not cool); some waiters do not know the menu; children's menus cannot be ordered for adults; food is carried in a completely random order (so I ordered soup with bread for myself - they brought barely warm soup first, and then bread 40 minutes later. Thanks).
In short, there is complete trouble with food here. The service is completely absent and no one cares if you leave a tip or not, whether you are satisfied or offended. Anyway, you'll come back here the next day, because there's nowhere else to eat in the neighborhood. In recent days, we went to Gagra, ate there in a good place.
And the food here interrupts all the good impressions about the hotel. It's sad. Therefore, the management must somehow correct the situation. Fortunately, they don't seem to care about the rest.

The service is excellent, the area and views are simply gorgeous, the pool is also great!
We booked a room on 08/11/2013. We decided to celebrate the Day of Childbirth at this hotel.
10.08 at ~17:00, the booking manager calls me and says that there is allegedly some kind of malfunction in the system and that they cannot provide us with a room… All plans were disrupted due to their incompetence and pushing for a "system error".
No customer orientation, just a beautiful hotel cover…
The territory is well maintained, the service is excellent, the rooms are clean (cleaned every day, linen is changed every three days), the staff is friendly and sincere, the heated pool (clean water), the location is very good (and there is no noise around, and it's not far to go somewhere), the restaurants have very tasty food and decent service.
A wonderful place! I would come again! The territory is well maintained, a lot of vegetation, a mini zoo with cougars, a swimming pool, its own beach, several cafes, a children's room and a small town, everything is in the room, clean, pleasant, atmospheric!
We rested in May 2022, for only 3 days. The last time I was in Abkhazia was in 2013, and then I decided that I would not come here anymore. But as they say, "never say never").Well, I was pleasantly surprised by the changes in Abkhazia. Slowly, but something is being done, for example, I liked the transformed embankment. I really liked the Abaat Hotel! It is very well located, right on the shore, surrounded by greenery (well, whatever, and the nature there is magnificent in itself). The rooms are without food, But the hotel has a restaurant: a buffet breakfast of 500 rubles per person, the food is nothing ordinary, no frills, but breakfast is quite enough. We beat out of season (the end of May), so I liked that there were few people and places by the heated pool without problems and always). Our room was a two-room suite, spacious and comfortable. I liked the beach, but I don't know how it will be there in the hot season, whether there will be enough sun loungers and sunbeds. In general, I recommend it for a visit! I would have stayed there myself again!
The view from our balcony or why did we like it?
The pros, of course, there are more of them than the cons:
A stunningly clear turquoise sea.
The hotel is located in the old part of Gagra. Nearby is the historical heritage of different times: the Russian Empire, the USSR. However, all this requires restoration.
The buildings of the hotel are located in renovated historical buildings. A stone's throw away is a church built in the fifth or sixth century.
The view from the two balconies of our room from the main building was simply gorgeous.
Umbrellas and deck chairs on the beach are free of charge. The beach itself is 50-100m from the main building where we lived, on the same territory, there were no problems with places when the hotel was fully loaded.
The rooms in our building were bright, just great, spacious with two large balconies and a table on the balcony for evening gatherings with tea or wine.
The territory of the hotel is beautiful and well maintained. There is everything you need to relax. Excellent swimming pool, Playground, garden of flowers, palm trees, fruit trees: peaches, apples, kiwis, figs. There is a parking lot. Cougars and birds live in aviaries on the territory.
The staff are responsive people, ready to go to a meeting in everything, but very slow.
✅ There is a small gym and massage
The pool is equipped with excellent umbrellas, there is no shortage of sun loungers.
There is a retro Chevrolet car on the territory, near which children and adults are photographed.
Delicious tea, waffles and tubes with nuts are served at the beach bar. The bartenders are funny, they have great music and atmosphere. They make good cocktails.
We ate mainly in the Tea house next to the hotel. The breakfasts there are delicious, but sometimes there was a long wait. For lunch and dinner, there are mainly dishes of Caucasian and Uzbek cuisine, but there is also borscht, dumplings and pasta in the Navy for kids. They cook well.
The hotel can arrange a transfer from Adler airport to the hotel for 3000rubles, with a good calm driver in a normal car and with a child safety seat.
We took one excursion to Lake Ritsa+New Athos. Like it. It's only on the road that some local drivers' attitude to traffic rules is a little shocking.
In general, it is a good place to return to, if you do not pay attention to the little things and enjoy the magnificent views, nature, sun, sea, which negate all the shortcomings.
A historical place from 1903-1906, which became a worthy hotel.it is located in staraya Gagra, near the Prince of Oldenburg Palace, Primorsky Park (old Soviet), but reconstruction is underway. The first line, the sea is very close, there is a heated swimming pool. It's quiet, you can see how kiwi grows on the territory)))The teahouse and on-site restaurant are among the best in the city, according to locals. I recommend you to like it.
We had a rest in August, the Chalet building, a standard double room with a balcony.
Dignities: beautiful and well-groomed territory of the hotel, proximity to the sea, swimming pool. The room was cleaned, towels and linen were changed. There is a tea house on the territory of the hotel, in which we ate (the quality is normal, the prices are not too high).
Disadvantages: instead of a double bed, there are two single beds in the room, standing side by side. They creaked, it seemed that they could barely stand it (they were already tired). There were not enough appliances, plates, a kettle (there were only 2 glasses), water in the refrigerator. At night, the lights and water were turned off, respectively, you will not go to the toilet, the air conditioner does not work at this time. Next to the building, not far from the cafe, already outside the hotel, music played loudly and sang for a long time every night (it didn't bother us much, but it would definitely hurt with a child). My husband and I were spoiled by an upset stomach (perhaps due to sea water). The on-site restaurant, in my opinion, does not meet the high prices, the quality of the food is very average.
Overall, the impression of staying at the hotel remained good, despite the disadvantages. I also want to note that it was hot and stuffy (those who do not tolerate heat well, be careful). The hotel itself and the staff did not disappoint, nature and the sea smoothed out all the shortcomings.
P.S. WI-FI seems to be supposed to catch throughout the hotel, but it was constantly disappearing in our building. I advise you to solve the problem with it.
The hotel is historical, more than 100 years old.
The renovation is good, but the rooms are cramped, air conditioning on the balcony of the room.
There is NO beach.
The main advantage is that there is a church and a historical park nearby
I definitely recommend the hotel primarily for families with children. A large green area. There are many places for children to spend time with children. Large heated swimming pool. There is a volleyball court on the sand and a football field on the grass. Two cougars live in the enclosure. There is a rabbit and pheasants. Everything is well maintained, beautiful, clean. There is a cozy bar on the beach. The buildings have been restored very well. The combination of wood and stone is very harmonious. Everything is beautifully and comfortably done. The fact that the hotel was built on a historical site gives this hotel a special flavor and attractiveness. The room was standard with a balcony, clean, everything was new, cleaning was regular and of high quality. From the balcony on the 3rd floor there was a view of the sea, the mountains and the castle on the mountain. Because of the good view, we even changed our mind about moving to the superior room, which was originally booked, but they mistakenly mixed it up at the hotel, and spent the first night in the standard one, which we later turned out to be very happy about. In the room, there was only a remark to the door, it closes badly and closes the room from the corridor badly, it skips sounds. It was good that the guests, as it seemed to us, also understood this and behaved quietly, respecting each other's rest.
The fact that the hotel is family-run may be a disadvantage for someone. There will always be a lot of children around. There are a lot of children.
It is not yet clear why the hotel is given 4 stars if the hotel itself does not write about it.
I can't give 5 stars, there are flaws, but it's a solid 4 plus.
A beautiful small area, there is Parking, a small zoo, a Playground.
Breakfast can be purchased on site, but it is advisable to pay for it in the restaurant, rather than go to the reception.
On the beach: sun beds, umbrellas, pebble beach, bar.
Our room was spacious on the 1st floor with a separate entrance. In the room: A comfortable hard bed and comfortable pillows. There are slippers, a beach towel. Fridge. There are all soap accessories in the bathroom.

A great hotel with a great location.
Positive:
- the rooms are quite spacious, mostly with sea views.
- beautiful territory
- heated swimming pool
-beach bar (Ivan makes wonderful cocktails)
-there is a tea house nearby with excellent service, delicious dishes and wonderful
Minuses:
- sun beds on the beaches
- there are no rules and tourists start carrying towels and glasses at 6 a.m. to take a seat.
-sound insulation in the rooms
In total, you can definitely come here for family holidays with children, there is children's animation. It is also quite comfortable without children.
Good review, small BUT in the end 🙂
The hotel is very nice, and I liked the location the most. Mountains, greenery, air, location. It's different than living in Novaya Gagra, for example, in the city.
It's like a secluded oasis. I like this more than crowds of people, a lot of cars, noise and hubbub.
The staff is very polite and always tries to help. They always smile, wish you a good morning, evening, night. These are the reception, the maids, and the waiters in the restaurant. Pleasant atmosphere.
The breakfast is good, 400 rubles per person.
Heated swimming pool, swing, table tennis. In general, if I return to Abkhazia, then only to the Abaat hotel.
An unpleasant impression was finally left by a man (the administrator or I do not know who, he did not introduce himself):
We heard from other guests that they are not charged for breakfast for a child under 5 years old. My child is 3 years old and we paid daily for breakfast, although you know, children don't eat much) I went to the reception to clarify whether it was paid for children or not. (we rested for 2 weeks). She said that it was made free 5 days ago, apologized and told me to go to the restaurant, they would recalculate.
We went to the restaurant, explained the situation and this man jumped up, without hello and so on, began to say impolitely yes, they did and now what. I explain that we were charged money. He started waving his arms and muttering something further, not solving the situation.
We did not continue the conversation, as it was useless. We didn't hear it, sorry, we didn't return the money, even for these few days. And in general, the conversation was in an impolite direction. This is the receptionist or someone like that, unfortunately behaved worse than the friendly staff of this hotel.
In general, I recommend the hotel and the location. We were completely satisfied!
The place is great, cozy. The rooms are clean, the pool is cool. On the territory of the Tea House, the food is delicious, the staff is polite. A good hotel, there are many attractions nearby.
Our favorite hotel, the best place in Abkhazia. It is beautiful, atmospheric, delicious, the sea is clean, the pool is well maintained, and what a territory! 🤩🙏🏻 I recommend it to everyone!
The hotel is at the level of both the location and the level of service! We like it, although there are some nuances, but where they are not. I recommend.
A wonderful hotel, especially the teahouse at the hotel, a delicious varied menu, a wonderful waiter, a Siberian Eugene, a hookah professional Pavel.
Thanks a lot to the team for creating a good mood!!
A good hotel, well-maintained territory, regular room cleaning, friendly staff. Thanks for the rest, special thanks to the girls from the reception Natalia and Valeria, all questions, if they arise, are resolved promptly!
The territory is very beautiful and well maintained, first line +heated swimming pool. There is a sauna on site. The staff service is at a good level. The room is cleaned every day.The room prices are very high, it's not worth it.The beach is small and not particularly equipped
It's a very nice place. Excellent territory, well maintained. The two restaurants do not cook very badly. Their prices are no different from the prices in Russia. The room has slightly worn furniture, but it is also clean. THE MAIN DISADVANTAGE IS THE BEACH!!! More precisely, the entrance to the sea. It's just trash! I ask the hotel management to resolve the issue of clearing the beach from boulders!!!
A wonderful hotel!!! We are resting here for the third time. Closed territory, private beach. There is a restaurant, a tea house and a beach bar on site.
There are some disadvantages: a strong smell of sewage in the bathroom (smells from the holes of the sink and shower and from the drain on the floor). Well, the trouble with electricity is, at least this year, for 7 nights of explication, electricity is 6 times (for 2-4 hours every night). Candles, of course, are not provided (from the point of view of fire safety, this is correct), but the darkness is pitch black.
And yet it is one of the best hotels, because it is located far from the private sector. That's why it's quiet and clean. And although the price is far from affordable for everyone, it is for this reason that the contingent is very decent: well-off families with children or elderly guests. No drunken tourists, screaming and partying until morning!!!
We were in Abkhazia in different hotels, different cities/villages, but Abaata surprised us. This is the best hotel in Abkhazia!!! Friendly, helpful staff. Well-maintained territory, heated swimming pool, gorgeous view from the room, the room is clean and fresh. The food is delicious. We are thrilled. If we are still in Abkhazia, we will definitely stay in Abaata.
Abaata is a unique place in Gagra! The hotel is located right in the old fortress, on the Black Sea coast. The oldest building in the city of Gagra! The hotel traces its history back to the beginning of the XX century at the instigation of the Prince of Oldenburg himself. Historical buildings are protected as much as possible.
The territory resembles an ancient Italian town! A spacious park with subtropical greenery and a heated swimming pool. And all this right on the beach!!!
I recommend it!
Great hotel. They changed it to a great room, because there was simply no place for a third bed in the first room. Large green and fenced area. Key entry. Breakfast is optional, and that's good! It does not oblige, but if you do not want to, you can go to another place. Breakfast is not bad. We had dinner there a couple of times. There are not enough sun beds, people take up and leave. Bad internet on the beach. The beach and the entrance to the sea are not bad. The sea was clear. However, a small river flows nearby and that a big big question is being lowered into it. The impression is that the water is cooler and fresher because of the river.
The territory, service, beach, cleanliness, staff - all for five points, but for such a price tag it was possible to include breakfast, this is the only minus.
I really liked the hotel. One of the best in gagra. There is an old church and a good restaurant with traditional food nearby. Good WiFi, a warm outdoor pool. I really liked the staff.
The historical location of the hotel, excellent staff, responsive girls at the reception, will always listen carefully, you and your problem will be explained and told, the owners are wonderful people, very friendly, constantly working to improve the conditions of stay in this wonderful hotel. We will come to you Said more than once
A great hotel, with a beautiful territory with nice cozy rooms that are conducive to a good rest. The breakfasts are on the level, the beach is pumped up, there is a good pool. The temple is nearby!
A great place, we rested for the second time, I recommend, excellent rooms, simple breakfast, gorgeous territory, there is a problem with the beach, it is there, but you can not go into the sea, you can turn your legs over. You can swim in the pool.In the evening, they cook well in the cafe.
To sum up the whole review, the hotel is great.
The territory is not too big, but it is very beautiful. There are palm trees all around. If we compare it with Krasnodar hotels, then the territory is even large.
The basik is warm, clean, and the children enjoy swimming all day long. The beach is equipped. First impression from YouTube, not particularly good, not well maintained. But upon arrival here, the impression changed. Quite worthy. There is a lot of space for everyone. In the center, the strip is cleared of large stones, it is normal for children to swim. Yes, there are huge boulders on the sides.
The teahouse cafe is quite expensive, but everything is clean, neat, and delicious. But expensive. A bottle of lykhna wine costs 450 rubles, and in the market in the store it is also 220 rubles. There is a dining room nearby, on Yuri Gagarin Square, where the destroyed shopping center is. The prices are slightly lower, but.... a squeamish person will definitely not dine there.... What else. The rooms are cleaned every day, there are no complaints. There are no animals in the room, the water is hot and cold, everything is normal. At night, for some reason, the electricity is turned off... Maybe they save money, maybe for other reasons. There is an embankment with cafes, music plays loudly until midnight. There is a beautiful park along the embankment. We really liked it, I recommend it and we will definitely come here again.
A wonderful hotel. Location - not far from the border, located in staraya Gagra. The sea (1st line) and mountains, greenery, beautiful well-groomed territory. A clean pool for children and adults. The sauna is generally super...with a font and a sea view.
I would also like to draw attention to the excellent owners of the hotel, to their good attitude towards the guests.
A great place to relax with children, friends, and for the elderly. Since it is quiet and cozy in a closed area. I definitely recommend everyone to visit this hotel!
A beautiful modern Hotel, heated swimming pool, first Line, its own beach deck chairs and a bar. A beautiful place in Gagra, near many cafes and a promenade between the park and the sea. We'll come again!
Just a beautiful hotel area, private beach. The staff is beyond praise, during the trip in which we visited 7 hotels in different cities, including Krasnaya Polyana and Sochi, this hotel and staff were the best.
A good hotel, well-maintained territory, compares favorably with other hotels, a pool with lighting in the evening, palm trees and a beach bar with reed umbrellas. There is an excellent cafe adjacent to the hotel where you can order both Abkhazian and European cuisine.
We arrived according to reviews, we thought it was delicious, we picked it up, it wasn't tasty, they threw out most of the word and fed it to local cats, but the guys are good, friendly…
Terrible hotel, terrible staff, terrible everything
Valeria is just such a heavy girl at the reception, there are just no words
I paid 13,600 per day for an improved room
They gave a simple small room with two children huddled together
There were two Palatins
Although it should be 4
Tomorrow is not included in the price
A very terrible restaurant, especially the waiter service, the rolls are terrible the price is 650 rubles in Moscow, you can just buy gorgeous rolls for this money
The pool is dirty and cannot be washed
It was cold, the heating was not turned on
Then they turned it on after the scandal
Security boors come into the room when the children are sleeping without knocking, as if to their own home
Beach huge boulders can break your legs
Bottom line I do not recommend this hotel
Reading positive reviews, think a hundred times whether to go or not
It is better to go to the AMRA Hotel
